Avoid this place at all costs !! Wow. This place is SO dirty, filthy. The beds are old and don’t work well. I got a deal on 3 spray tans, I am using my last one and will never, ever be back.

The girls at the counter here are friendly & helpful. I have recently had issues with a gift card that I purchased there, and they have comp’d several tans for me because of it. I appreciate their customer service!

I am being completely honest here; this is the WORST tanning salon I have ever seen. My issue is with the cleanliness of this location. Tanning salons need to be clean in order to prevent spreading diseases! This place has dirt and dust all over the floors and the tops of the beds. Band aids, wrappers and stickers are all over the floor. Lotion splats and hand prints are on the walls… Many of the rooms do not have hooks on the doors and there is no where to place your clothes. Also, being able to see a camera from one of the tanning rooms is uncomfortable! The beds are outdated and often have burnt out bulbs. It costs over $ 50 for just one month of this place. I think that is really pricey for the poor quality! You can pay around $ 30 a month, but you have to sign on for at least three consecutive months in order to receive that deal. You are then charged an additional cancelation fee if you decide to stop. Bottom line is– The filthy surroundings in each tanning room really make me wonder about the cleanliness of the bed surfaces. If they can’t sweep the floor and dust, then chances are they are not reallyy cleaning the beds after each customer either. Don’t get a tanning package here if your not willing to risk catching ringworm.

L.A. tan in Grandview is the best example of you get what you pay for, or maybe even a little less. I signed up here for their VIP package to tan for my vacation. The first few weeks were okay, but then I started tanning in beds with bulbs out. The first time they gave me a free tan in any bed, the second time I got an excuse about how they were waiting for new bulbs and the third time they said they couldn’t get the bulbs out and were waiting for a new tool. The problem was not in just one bed, it was in at least four. Needless to say, by the time I cancelled my membership, the bulbs were still out and the employees were insisting that I was still getting a «good» tan. I don’t know about most people, but when I pay for something I would like it all, not part of it because they don’t want to buy new beds because they are expensive(yes I actually had one of the employee’s tell me this). Word to the wise, if you want a cheap and convenient place to tan, its okay. If you really want what you pay for without excuses for poor service, go somewhere else.

I was enticed by the free week being a new customer. I came back and paid for convenience. I’ll break this down into 3 sections, the miscellaneous info, the beds themselves, and the service. Conveniently located not far from my apartment, sometimes there’s a wait but I do not mind 10 minutes or so. They have great deals on nearly each day of the week, worthy of checking out if you are a infrequent tanner looking for something just to get you by. The beds are a little aged, definitely have seen better days, nonetheless bulbs are bulbs and this place certainly delivers on getting you bronzed in a snap. I personally recommend the level 2 non bronzing bed, but be careful, I even can burn in it and I NEVER burn! That being said, some of their beds have facial bulbs. Which I’m all about, except some of the bed’s facial bulbs do not work. Yikes. Hence the 3 star rating. The service is average, they seem knowledgeable in the industry they work in. I could test them being a tanning connoisseur but I don’t want to make them uncomfortable, lol. They sell lotions, but buyer BEWARE! They are horribly overpriced. True you get back tanning bucks to use on upgrades, but I’ve been buying the same lotion on-line for half of their retail price. They may try to con you by saying what you get on-line might be altered, expired, etc, etc. I’ve been buying lotion on-line for years, just make sure you use a reputable source. :) Bottom line? A tan is a tan. If you want a spa-like experience go elsewhere, but if you just want to get your tan on, then give it a shot. :)

This is my regular tanning salon now. I feel that I’ve been here a lot of times now for the money I paid, so it’s a decent value. I wish their lotions were cheaper, but that’s the case at pretty much every tanning salon. Staff have always been friendly and I’ve never had a problem with anything.

This is the worst LA tan, no make that the worst tanning salon I have ever been too, and if making people wait in the lobby for beds that no one is using just so they don’t have to do any extra cleaning is the type of service the Columbus tanning crowd is used to then maybe I need to lower my standards. To start off I went with a friend and we both use the same bed(stand up level IV). I went back to my room, seen that the room next to mine had the same bed and was empty and figured that they would put my friend in that one, but still the staff made them wait on me and the bed I was using. Really ladies why have people sit and wait when there are beds available or at least make that clear when we both signed in. Oh yeah how about running that vac cum once and a while and dusting your salon. There was enough dirt, old sticker papers, old sample tanning packs, paper gum wrappers, and dust bunnies on the floor to show me that if they don’t care about the crap on the floor then they don’t care about the customer. How about those towels, those blue crappy ones? Well they reminded me of the ones I bought at an autozone and they were called mechanics shop towels and they get used as rags in my garage, but at this la tan location they are towels. Busy or not; why use only one bed when two are avail, the vacuum hasn’t been ran in days not hours or minutes, and get some real towels not shop rags.

This is my first review. ever, but after working in the tanning salon business I know how stressful it can be and I want to give LA tan a huge thumbs up. I thought the girl working the counter was very helpful without being pushy and found the perfect lotion for me.

I admit it. I’m ‘that’ girl. I love to use the tanning bed. As a result, I am always searching for great deals so that I can justify the expense. I am possibly the only person in Columbus who looks through that nifty blue envelope full of coupons(you know the one) but it has served me well. So I march in with my coupon, and being in my usual rush to get in and get out, I was blown away with the complicated nature of their packages and minutes and levels and this and that. It seemed to go on and on. Am I the only one who wonders when simply laying in the tanning bed for 10 minutes became so complicated? Literally 30 minutes after I arrived I was safely tucked away in the warmth of the UV bulbs but GEEZ it was painful to go through that. I have to say, the girls(and guy) at the Grandview location are absolutely lovely and it isn’t like they are responsible for creating the NASA-level policies and procedures. I guess I’m just a sucker for the mom and pop tanning salons that are an afterthought in a facility used for washing laundry– and yes, I’m talking about Bronze Bubbles. Bronze Bubbles has my heart. Simple, effective and without all the bells and whistles.
