It started with the chips and salsa. Chips were cold, salsa was bland, firey hot,(I love hot) and tasted like it came from a can. Asked for a milder salsa and I was Informed this was the mild. Onto the soapapia, bland, bland, and more bland. The wife had a taco that was just weird tasting. Prices were high but the Iced Tea was good, and I had to ask for refills. Definitely will go to LaFagotta next time.

I try not to be mean, but I would never come back here again. The positives are that the people working here are great and it’s clean and all that jazz. I wanted to try this because it’s kind of close to our house, but it was the worst version of Mexican food as in I would rather go get some Americanized taco bell and that would actually be better. Now, if you don’t like authentic Mexican food or don’t know what it is, you might like this place. My dad liked the sopapilla that he has. I tasted it and it was ok. It was like a huge empanada with American cheese. Again, I don’t want to be rude because the staff is nice and maybe this place is good to some people that are definitely not Mexican, but I would NEVER come back here again. Unfortunately the east side does not have many options for good Mexican food, but I would rather go to el Portal on Main Street in Reynoldsburg. It’s a billion times better.

Ehh was not impressed. Very very Americanized. It tasted like everything came from a box. There was nothing special about it. More than likely will not be back.

So the positives it’s a very nice restaurant very clean and well put together. My waitress was very nice also. The negatives their food was probably the whitest version of Mexican I have ever had. There was no flavor at all it was so bland. The salsa tasted like sweetened ketch up. I wanted this place to be good bc I love Mexican food and you would think with such a vibrant Mexican population in Columbus they could find a good cook.

If you go here get the sopapilla it’s delicious. Everything else I’ve tried has been okay but after trying the sopapilla I’ve gone from a 2.5 or 3 star to a 5 star rating. The staff is alwayd very polite and helpful and it has a nice atmosphere but trying The sopapilla really changed my view about the food here.

If you are looking for a cheap imitation Mexican restaurant then this is your place!!! This is NOT an authentic Mexican restaurant! What Mexican restaurant doesn’t have Pico de gallo, or Cilantro, or the mexican hot sauces that most traditional mexican restaurants have? I can tell you who doesn’t, La Paloma! And they put cheddar cheese on burritos, really?! The food wasn’t nasty but definitely not what I’m used to, this is more like street vendor/food truck Mexican. Needless to say I won’t be going back.

I don’t see this place sticking around for, too, long. Which sucks, because there’s a lot of opportunity on Brice Road, but many places like Target and Meijer have left. Anyways, this place sucks. Our server was very nice, but that’s all they have going for them. If you want chips, you have to pay separately for them and if you want salsa– you have pay separately for that, too! I asked if they had cheese drip and when the server brought it out, it looked like sausage gravy. It was lumpy, grey and had no flavor. Oh, and I had to pay for the chips that were on the plate with the cheese dip. Of course, their specialty is the sopapilla, but I couldn’t stick around for that after the cheese dip was presented. Just an FYI, the sopapilla is deep friend and comes out with lettuce and tomato as toppings. If you want sour cream, you’ll pay extra for that. If you want any type of red sauce, you’ll pay extra for that, too. And rice, and cheese, and beans. So, you get a medium sopapilla for $ 5-$ 7, and any extra toppings add up– you’re not getting much flavor, or food, no es bueno.

This place… Not so much. They do not serve alcohol, and so they overcharge for everything else in order to make up the difference. Like, a hand full of tortilla chips for one dollar overcharge. And then you get your food. We ordered queso and chips, paying for the chips separately from the queso. It not only looks like reheated gravy, it also tastes like it. I was excited to try the sopapilla, but just couldn’t stick around after getting this served to me.

My fav restaurant is now in Cols! We used to live in Newark and ate here all the time. The server was very nice and the food was as good as ever! The prices were very reasonable. We will be back! Love it!

Simply amazing. My family and I frequent the locations in Newark and Heath when we’re in town, and now they have one in Columbus, so it’s even better!!! Quick service, friendly people and great food. We’ll def be back again, really soon!

Too bland for even Tex-Mex. I understand that they have a great reputation in Newark. I’ve eaten there and it was jam packed, but still bland. Nothing to write home about. 4 people, around $ 40. Very nice waitress. Shame it’s so bland. Almost no one in the restaurant. Oh, did I mention it was bland?

What kind of Mexican restaurant doesn’t have alcohol? No margs, no modelo. Food was really bland, no flavor, no hot sauce. The hot sauce was bad salsa in bottles. If I was taking my 85 year old grandma it would probably be ok. Not coming back.

Sopapilla was amazing. Grew up in Heath so this is a fav place. So glad they put one in Columbus. Ariana was sweet. Good service! Will be back! Another customer recommended dessert sopapillas. Next time I order a smaller dinner and get some!

Sopapilla was good but needs some seasoning… Very bland. I had both the beef and chicken. This is a Christian restaurant so no adult beverages are offered. The waitress told us we could go across the street to Applebees. lol!

I would have to say this place isn’t too bad. Cheap on the prices. Food came out at a good time. Not to slow and not to fast. I posted photos of what we ordered. Their main issue is flavoring. Maybe they are playing it conservative because they are just newly opened but they need to step it up. The beef taco’s meat was too lightly seasoned. The seasoning packs you get at the grocery stores do a job 10x better! The chicken was clearly not seasoned because it have the pale white color similar to when you make chicken beast at home in the oven and put nothing on it. In all, the seasoning kills this place and they need to get some bold flavors are they will not last long at all. I wouldn’t recommend this place honestly. It all looks good though.
