Strolling through the Moonlight Market, I came across the cart for Lily’s Mini Delights. Since I eat gluten free, I don’t usually pay a lot of attention to the food at festivals and events, because I usually can’t eat it. Luckily, the large green bubble declaring«gluten free» caught my eye, and I hopped in line to find out more. The mini delights are mini donuts, cooked hot and fresh right in front of your eyes. When they pop out of the mini fryer, the kind folks who run the cart happily add some delicious toppings of your choice to the donuts. The original version lets you choose between cinnamon-and-sugar or powdered sugar, while the gourmet calls for the addition of chocolate syrup, gluten-free crushed Oreos, and powdered sugar. I opted for a Baker’s dozen of 13 mini donuts with the cinnamon and sugar. The smaller size makes them perfect for eating while strolling along the street, and perfect for sharing(if you can resist eating them all yourself, of course!) The donuts are delicious — warm, flavorful, and perfectly cooked! I will definitely be watching for the cart again to pick up some more.
