This is a very quaint and convenient shop located in the Key Bank building. I don’t know if I would call it a ‘salon’… it’s definitely your traditional old fashioned barber shop… the kind I grew up with! What drew me in was the shoeshine sign(say that 3 times fast) out front. I was heading to a job interview up on the 14th floor and thought a fresh shine might be nice. Billy was the gentleman doing the shines… very nice and friendly guy. We talked the whole time, exchanging stories about this and that. Anyway, GREAT shine! Shows look great. Not many shoeshine places around these days like there used to be. I guess people don’t shine their shoes anymore??? Why is that… Inquiring minds want to know

Behind the sandwich shop that used to be a quiznos on third street that’s just after lynn on your way south towards the door to the key building(88 e broad). Walked in for a quick cut today. People were friendly enough. Pricing at $ 17 for the cut. Cut was decent, however didn’t shake off the top of my head, which I noticed later in the day when I went to scratch my head and got the hand covered in little bits of hair. She cleaned off the sides though, just maybe forgot the top? I usually go to John next to capitol square printing on gay street, however his hours are odd since he is semi-retired. This place seems to have regular hours, however I might explore other nearby options as well.
