The Columbus Marsh is nothing like the other Marsh’s that I have been to. The produce section is gross and the store in general needs a facelift. However, the ladies back in the deli and bakery department are extrememly nice and helpful. I give them 5 stars.

It’s a Marsh in a smaller town. You’re not going to find a whole lot of diversity in the produce section. You’ll be lucky to find 3 or 4 types of peppers. Greens are limited to Romaine, Kale, Iceberg, and Bibb lettuce. However it is generally pretty fresh. There isn’t much of an organic section, In fact I’m not sure if I even noticed \one in the produce section. There are a few sprinkled throughout the packaged foods, but nothing worth noting, just pasta sauces and the occasional soy milk. The guys in the meat counter are usually willing to cut you steaks or chops to a thickness you desire which I really appreciate. Not that I’m a big meat eater, but I don’t want a ¼” ribeye… I have also noticed outside of private butchers Marsh tends to have the best selection of Beef. If I’m in a pinch and can’t make it up to Goose for my weekly meat order, Marsh can usually cut it. Overall it’s a decent neighborhood grocery store. If you need some staples it’s an easy in and out trip and if you catch things on sale you can save quite a bit of money, otherwise it can be a little on the expensive side, The cashiers are usually in a good mood and quite attentive as well,

I’ve actually always preferred their produce over Walmart, as I find theirs to be just pathetic. I’ve never been disappointed in finding fresh produce here. Plus they are the only grocery to carry Simmons wine, which is local.

this is one sorry supermarket. watch the fruit — a lot of it is spoiled. watch any time-stamped goods — a lot of stuff on the shelves is past its expiration date. be ready to wait for checkout — day or night, almost alway find a line. today went in to pick up two or three items(5 min) and then spent 20 min waiting for the inexperienced checkout clerk to finally get done through the 3 or so people ahead of me in the EXPRESS lane. instead of the store manager doing any useful work(like run a checkout or going back and tossing the spoiled seafood that was stinking up the place), he just stood there like an ornament — i even policed the grocery baskets for him so i had a place to put my stuff on the checkout counter. oh yes, and the keypads are so worn out that you have to beat them with a stick(or stylus) literally to get them to register your input.
