I walked past masseys and decided to take home a pizza. Since I was on chemotherapy I had to be very careful of germs. I was shocked when I saw they didn’t wear gloves or wash hands in between. Not only could I not eat the pizza, I will not go back. Yuck! No excuse for that!

Be prepared for some sticker shock. This pizza is expensive, especially considering the income level of a lot of the people who live nearby. That being said, it’s some delicious ‘za for sure! They have a thin but sturdy crust with a generous amount of cornmeal on the bottom. The pizzas have the perfect amount of sauce(I HATE dry pizza) and it really compliments the pepperoni. One thing that seems like it would be a positive but ends up being a negative is that they LOAD their pizzas with toppings, especially the pepperoni. I am a fan of the edge-to-edge way they apply the peps to the pizza, but keep that in mind if you order additional toppings. Our fave is pep and pineapple, and they the cover the whole pie with pep from edge to edge, and THEN add the pineapple on top of that. This causes the pineapple to fall off and trying to eat a slice gets a bit tricky. The same thing happened when we ordered pep and tomato. I think the best course of action for us will be to order light pepperoni when ordering more than one topping. They also put a lot of nice seasoning on top of the pizza, so it’s quite zesty. Skip the garlic cheese bread, it’s nothing special. We have only ever had carry-out, but they do offer a pizza buffet for lunch on weekdays. Grab one of those coupons that they send out in the val-pack or in the weekly mailers, and try a pie!

This was my first time trying them. I placed a pick up order. Place was clean. Good bang for your buck. Heavy toppings on a thin crust. Easy to find location. Personal preference of telling them lighter on the sauce, otherwise delicious. Sausage is spicy and large pieces, green peppers tasted fresh and loved the thick cut.

I ordered a pizza at 7:11 and did not receive my pizza until 8:05. When I went to pick it up, I was told that although i ordered it online, they did not receive the order until I arrived to pay for it at 7:31. This makes no sense. I was then forced to wait another half another while they made it. Why order in advance! I asked that the pizza not be cut square and they continued to do so, despite my request in advance. The manager said on Friday nights you cant expect to have such special things done. such as cutting the pizza in a pie shape. This does not seem to be anything special at all. I have only been here once before and even though I live just down the street, I will never return due to the poor customer service. I feel that the product they produce is no different than anywhere else and dont understand the allegiance some customers speak of. Especially, when watching them prepare the food with unwashed hands and in unsanitary methods.

It’s not the best pizza in the world, but it’ll do. It’s still pizza! Delivery is always punctual. Probably one of the better pizza joints in Hilltop, though that’s not saying much.

I ordered our pizza at 4:46PM and was told that it would be 20 minutes. I arrived to pick it up at 5:15 and I was told that our food would be out in a minute. I waited in the dining room until my name was called at 5:30. We checked the temperature of the food on the way home-and 2 out of 3 items were barely lukewarm. When I called and spoke to a manager she immediately told me that she couldn’t give me a credit and that our food couldn’t possibly be cold. She offered to remake 1 of the items-which didn’t make sense because the food that was actually hot would have then been cold. She all but called me a liar. I am not happy with the customer service-and it’s very unlikely that I will ever return to this location.

I stop by here for the lunch buffet as often as I can. It is a great deal and offers pizza, subs, salad, and pasta. Most others offer pizza,…period. The food is excellent and I feel they have one of the best subs in Columbus. The staff is always friendly and helpful.

Awesome pizza! The toppings are so tasty and I love the service here. Funny guys who work there will talk and joke with you while your pizza is cooking. A side of garlic bread is a great touch for a meal that’ll fill you up!

I ordered the lasagna for lunch and it was a $ 8.99 and it is not worth that at all. It was hard to eat because they appear to take the whole lasagna noodle and fold it over in the container making it very hard to cut with the tiny plastic fork they give you. It was mostly runny sauce and noodles meat is in the sauce but you can’t see it kind of like canned spaghetti sauce with meat, there wasn’t hardly any ricotta cheese and only cheese on top. In all fairness though I make a pretty amazing lasagna and I am basing theirs on mine, however for $ 8.99 I could of went and bought the stuff to make my own and done better with it. Steve wants to try their pizza after reading these reviews so an update is in their future. Oh also when I called to place my order I asked the guy if he had any lunch specials and he actually said«ya the same as we have everyday» woe dude woe, bad service with men lately, do not assume that I frequent your place and know what you know for crying out loud.

Pizza is a food that people have very strong opinions about: I find that folks pick their favorite pizza place and when they place undying allegiance to it, they will defend it for life against all naysayers. Well, we discovered Masseys Pizza about 30 years ago and refuse to buy pizza anywhere else in town – and ironically, my brother-in-law manages a Donatos. We always get gift cards to Masseys at Christmas from family members, so I call in an order of a large ½ mush ½ pep about once a month, and pick it up on my way home from work.(I do agree with Destiny M. that it is expensive compared to other pizza places.) They do put an inordinate amount of pepperoni on top(which my husband loves) and it gets crispy as it bakes. I love the sauce they use and the real mushrooms, but the very best part of a Masseys pizza is the thin crust with the cornmeal bottom. Absolute perfection to our tastes, and anyone who says anything different is itchin’ for a fight! Just kidding. ..

I really like this place. The crust is yummy mainly because of the little crumbs on the bottom. The pepperoni is great and the cheese is real, not that yucky processed mess. My only question is, why is a large one topping pizza $ 17.50? Most places(Donatos, Hungry Howies, Pizza Hut) only charge $ 12 for a large pizza. I guess we’re paying for the quality. It’s a nice little place and if you’re looking for new pizza, I would def. give them a try.

This was the family hangout every Friday night after a home football game in high school. Still order from this place from time to time. Not as good as Hounddog’s, Tommy’s, Tony’s, or Pizza House, but it’s still really good. The atmosphere here is nice and cozy. If you’re a regular, possibly one that’s come here for years, the staff will know your order by heart. I’ve always done dine-in and carry out. I’m not sure if they have a delivery service; if they do, I can’t take advantage of it because I’ve always lived outside a possible delivery radius. I’m moving out of state, and if I could pack up my favorite pizza joints and take them with me, I would include Massey’s in a heartbeat.

Love love love Massey’s! Surprisingly I think this one is better than the one in Powell!

I’ve had it twice, and both times the pizza has tasted like a bad Donato’s ripoff. Toppings are high quality, but the crust tasted bland, and the sauce was weak. The way they cut the medium into squares was appreciated and the staff was friendly. The pizza wasn’t bad, but for someone trying to proclaim they are the best pizza in Columbus I had high hopes and my product has consistently failed to impress.

Don’t believe they hype, as they say. For whatever reason, the cult of pizza fanatics in Columbus tend to be divided between this place and Rotollo’s, and after having experimented with both I find it hard to understand why. Rotollo’s can mop the floor with Massey’s, and that is the end of the argument right there. The pizza here has just about every negative quality I’ve come across when searching for the perfect pie: the crust is too crunchy, the sauce is always scorching hot, and the pepperoni is greasy and crater-like. The icing on the cake with Massey’s is that they don’t have a single location that services any of the downtown areas that my friends and I live near. The closest location that I can think of is the one in Gahanna, which is an area I’d prefer to never visist again. Call me «downtown-centric», but Massey’s idle contentment with being confined to suburbia is a major turnoff for me. Well, that and their unimpressive pizza, of course.
