This was our primary pizza choice, WAS. Place has gone down hill — orders not ready or lost. Pizza under cooked or burnt.

Pizza was ok. We got a large pepperoni pizza and cheese bread. Pizza had a lot of pepperoni which was nice but needed more cheese. The cheese bread was terrible definitely won’t ever get that again. Was pretty expensive for a pizza.

I love Massey’s pizza! It’s one of the best pizzas around in my book. I love the extra burnt crust with the crispy pepperoni. So delicious! I always ask for extra crispy. Tell them to leave it in for a few more minutes. The Italian subs are really good too. Only downside is it can be a little pricey. But worth it. I think it’s one of the best Massey’s around.

I am usually pretty fare when it comes to writing reviews but I had to write this terrible review for this particular restaurant. I am not a disgruntled customer. I am not trying to defame this pizza place but merely just telling people what had happened. I would give this place a no star if I could, but Unilocal did not have that as an option. So my kids and I were watching football in Bexley one Saturday. We didn’t want to leave the close game to get something to eat. We decided to call in for pizza. We called this massey’s pizza, ordered our special pizza with wings special and waited and watched and waited and watch football. They promised us 45 to an hour to deliver this pizza and wings. An hour and a half goes by and nothing… no call from driver or Massey’s pizza to apologize. By this time my younger child was starving and he asked if I could call the restaurant. I did and talked to the worker. He actually said that they are leaving the restaurant to deliver our order at that moment. An hour and a half after I ordered it. They haven’t even left yet. I was mad and asked for a manager or someone in charge to talk to about this incident. She gets ok the phone and proceeds to start blaming me for not having the correct timing and they are not late at all with delivery. My phone times don’t lye. She’s still wants to charge me for these very late items. I’ve had massey’s pizza before and the pizza is ok but if you want delivery… don’t call this place. Unless you a Want to wait for nothing. Nothing is what we ended up with. Manger lady actually hung up on me when I started talking back at her when she claims that it was my fault for assuming that the pizza was late. No pizza, two starving kids, and I’m pissed by now… we ended up eating at chipotle… healthier anyway. Horrible experience!!! Don’t call this place. If you have starving kids.

Went in with the full family for lunch one day. I wasn’t impressed by the Philly pizza but the 4 cheese was really good. Would have had a 4 but the place was filthy! Sticky tables and floors, bathroom smelled like it hadn’t been cleaned in years. Very grimy! Staff was rather apathetic.

After reading in Unilocal that this was the Pizza to try in Columbus we went for it. We had a Large Pizza and Stromboli with all the Meats. It was fine, the Stromboli had too mjuch dough, the Pizza a flavorless crust and tart sauce. Not as bad as Pizza Hut or Donatos, but I still prefer Papa Johns accross the street!

Customer Service has left the building! Placed an online order and after waiting an hour called to check. I was told that my food would be delivered any minute. Twenty five minutes later still no food so I called back. Their answer — gosh we never received your order but you can have a free pizza if you can wait another 45 minutes. NOT!

WOW! What a real shame. This USEDTO be the best pizza in the City. I ordered a large half pep and cheese to go and got it home and was very very disappointed. It was burned. Not only on the bottom but the edges were also burnt. I called and the management didn’t seem overly concerned with customer service. They offer to replace it but I wanted a refund. The other reason for a poor rating was the place was filthy. The floors were dirty and the restrooms were nasty. Again, what a real shame for what used to be a shining star. Maybe management might want to get it right with their own stores before they expand and franchise. I hope someone reads this and makes changes before a long time Columbus tradition goes by the wayside.

I was in the area for work, and I had a little time before my next appointment, so I stopped in because I saw the sign for Sisters Chicken and sides and it intrigued me. Unfortunately the only chicken they still serve is chicken wings, and they no longer have sides, so I got a meatball sub. I liked it pretty well. It’s placed on a wide bun that is really crispy, kind of like the bread on the Stouffers Frenchbread pizzas I used to bake for lunch in middle school. The meatballs were very nicely flavored with what tasted like just a hint of lemon zest. They were very tender, but still held together very well, and were cut in half to fit nicely on the wide bun. They were topped with nicely melted provolone cheese, and then red meatsauce. I was very satisfied. But take down that chicken and sides sign, or update it to just say wings!

I finally gave into all of the hype and ordered a Massey’s Pizza and I was not impressed – I was flat out disappointed. The owner must be sleeping with someone at the Dispatch in order for this place to get«Best Pizza in Central Ohio» year after year. In fact, this pizza is an exact carbon copy of a Donato’s pizza but made with cheaper ingredients. It’s nice that they are a local chain but that’s not enough to earn my business. By far the best pizza in Columbus is locally owned and made at one location… Planks Café on Parsons. If I moved away from Columbus and came back to visit Planks would be one of the first places I would stop. Massey’s wouldn’t even cross my mind. There was very little sauce, the crust was your typical thin crust cornmeal dusted crust, toppings were fresh but had no flavor, and this thing was super greasy. The restaurant itself lacks any character and screams«chinese version of a pizza shop». You know what I’m talking about… every chinese restaurant you go into looks the same… this looks the same as every junky pizza place. Again Planks wins in this department having a unique restaurant with a lot of character showing their local support for businesses and sports. I won’t be ordering from here again and if I ever see a poll to vote on best pizza in Columbus, this place is not getting my vote. Yuck.

If pizza you crave: Chicken, cheddar, bacon, ranch. A boxed heart attack. Oh yeah, I haiku’d you. Alas, I am no longer a meat eater, but man I miss this particular pizza. Some of the Massey’s locations — this one in particular — don’t list the CCBR pizza on the menu. But ask for it. Trust me. — Massey’s boasts 155 pepperonis on each pepperoni pizza. I’ve never counted. But there are quite a lot. — They don’t have a TON of toppings, but a decent selection: Pepperoni, Sausage, Ham, Salami, Mushrooms, Onions, Black Olives, Green Olives, Green Peppers, Hot Peppers, Sliced Tomato, Pineapple, Bacon, Anchovies, Jalapenos, Chicken, Beef, Meatballs — Garlic cheese dippers make a yummy appetizer — Good lunch specials — $ 6 for various combos — This particular location has a couple of TV’s and a decent sized dining room

This is the best Columbus style pizza I’ve found in the city. Most people think of Donitos as the standard bear of Columbus style pizza, but Massey’s is by far better. Their toppings are extremely fresh and of course cover the pizza. I’m not the biggest fan in the world of this type of pizza but Massey’s is clearly the best I had in the city. I wouldn’t suggest eating in unless you’re really into a flashback to 1988, but again overall if you’re interested in Columbus Style pizza this is the best in the city.

I’m spending the evening cruising around Unilocal and stumbled across Sabrina’s review of Massey’s Pizza. I lived in downtown Columbus(German Village) back in the 70s and worked at the Marriott on Hamilton Road, now closed. Massey’s was on my way home and would often stop there for the best Pizza in Columbus’ east side. Glad it’s still around. I can’t count the number of hangovers that cold Massey’s cured back in the day.

I feel blessed to have had access to some of the best pizzas on the planet — and both the West and East Coasts interpretations of pizza. I’ve had: In New York: Totonno’s Lombardi’s Grimaldi’s Patsy’s John’s La Villa Apizz In California: California Pizza Kitchen Mulberry St. Extreme Pizza In Chicago: Brick’s Gino’s Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria Uno Also, I am pretty sure I’ve tried every single chain in «Anywhere, U.S.A.» imaginable — from Pizza Hut to Domino’s to Chuck E. Cheese! Still, after all of those pizza experiences both amazing and horrible alike, I have harbored a single secret pizza place. That place is my hometown pizza parlor — Massey’s. They have 10 locations in Ohio, but this one in Whitehall is the original(opened in 1946 by Jim and Dan Massey). Massey’s slogans include«The Perfect Pizza» and«The Cadillac of Pizzas,» but I just know them as one of the first pizzas I ever had. I was a very picky eater as a kid, but this place quickly became a favorite. Some of its attributes include: 1) It has the most delicious crispy thin crust 2) The bottom of the pizza is always crispy — never chewy 3) The sauce is lightly applied, but the taste is thick and tomatoey and a little bit spicy-sweet. 4) The bottom of the pizza has cornmeal allllllllll over it. That’s the secret really. It’s amazing. 5) They use — and I am NOT kidding here — about 150 pepperoni to top each pizza. Though it is sometimes referred to as the Pepperoni Lovers pizza, it really is just their regular pepperoni pizza. If you want a less intense pepperoni experience, you have to ask for the Super Saver Pepperoni. It’s less expensive and has a normal amount of pepperoni. Anyway, if ever I’m in Ohio, I have to have Massey’s. It is such a great family place. It’s always full of kids coming home from softball games, soccer games, etc., though I usually order to go. My whole family loves their pizza, and a lot of places have tried to copy it. There was once a joint in like Pataskala or somewhere in the country called Etna that tried and got really close. Then I think they switched owners and the perfect cornmeal crust and delicious sauce went away. I am so glad I live in California now where I can’t order Massey’s all the time. Though I did notice they now will deliver the pizza ANYWHERE in the U.S. using UPS. The price to ship 4 pizzas overnight to California, you ask?: $ 119 Ha ha. I’ll stick to Chicken Enchiladas to keep my bloodstream full of cheese, thanks.
