Metro Transmissions

I was tooling around the other day when the clutch on my car decided to work with gravity and stay stuck on the floor (not a good thing). I was able to coast it into a Big Tire Brand Auto Center — a few hours later I was told it would need a new master cylinder, new slave cylinder, new flywheel, new this, new that, parts, parts, parts. .. labor, labor…let me add that all up for you and. . almost $ 4,000.
So…insert a Unilocal «transmission» search and a tow truck and my car was at Metro for a second opinion. Based on my one experience with Metro, I can truly say that I’ve never met auto repair specialists who are more trustworthy, caring about their customer or pleasant. One master cylinder later and only a few hundred $$, I’m out tooling around again. I had told Metro about the prior «estimate» and they simply could’ve confirmed all of it and taken my money. They didn’t. They also kept me informed every step of the way about what they were testing, etc. In short, they took the time to diagnose and fix only what needed to be fixed.
Ten stars.

I cannot recommend Metro highly enough. They are very professional, competent, and flexible, and their service is reasonably priced. I always felt that they priority was to help me.
I initially called several shops in the city to both get some estimates and see how willing they’d be to look into a somewhat complicated situation with our transmission. Some balked at performing exactly what we needed, while others didn’t take the time to understand our situation. However, Metro Transmission spent a lot of time talking through our situation and gave us a clear estimate of what they’d charge for their services.
I am glad we chose them to help us with our transmission needs. They were extremely thorough with testing the transmission and diagnosing the problem. They also worked around some particular logistical obstacles we threw their way. They were extremely flexible and willing to work with us.
If we ever run into transmission issues again (hopefully not), I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again.

Metro Transmission is a great shop. I was worried I had transmission trouble so I took my Volkswagon Pasat Stationwagon here. It turned out to be a hole in my transmission pan. They found me a reliable used part without me having to ask, saving me over $ 150. They were very fast, courteous, and explained everything to me in detail. They got my car done a day before they originally estimated too. Thanks Metro Transmission! :)

So my old junker was on its deathbed. I was told by two different repair shops, including the dealership, that it needed a new transmission. I headed over to Metro because I heard they would replace it for a fraction of the cost of other places. They took a look and told me that I was being lied to — the transmission was fine, just needed a few bolts tightened. They ‘fixed’ the problem. I was speechless. A new transmission is a huge amount of money, and they were completely honest and upfront about what my car really needed.
Seriously, who does that?! Amazing.
