I shop here because of the convenience factor. I find the staff helpful and friendly. I will confess that I generally only buy something here if I need it right away because otherwise it is cheaper to buy online. And, it does appear that they are carrying less and less…

I was in with my boyfriend. We never buy anything because it’s so overpriced but we were looking at computer chairs and it was on our way to Kroger (which had the same chair for half the price). The guy was trying (way too hard) to sell my boyfriend a phone case for $ 35 on our way out. He then asked me if I needed help with anything and I told him no. He then said something along the lines of «Oh well, you’re probably just here for moral support anyway.» I don’t know, maybe he didn’t mean anything by it but as a female, and as a pre-​engineer, I found this really offensive. I don’t like it when people think I’m stupid. I know I can buy the same phone case on amazon for $ 5 – 10 and maybe get free shipping for being a prime member.

Ohio State peeps get a major discount here, which is why I drove past many reputable establishments to give my business to this nearly empty Officemax.
I suppose if you’ve been to one office store you’ve been to them all. There is really nothing special about this place at all. The people are nice although somewhat incompetent. The copying services are just okay. The first time, they didn’t copy my two-​sided originals correctly and me, being new to the concept of paying someone to copy for me, forgot to check. This caused a major fiasco for me two days later so I was a little pissy about that but I suppose I’m the one to blame. The second time they made 108 extra copies (I’m not saying that incompetence doesn’t sometimes pay off… but it’s incompetence nonetheless– better hope it doesn’t bite you in the butt). They will give you copies with the ink clearly wearing out and not do anything about it unless you push it a little (kindly, of course). I think you have to go in here ready to be your own advocate. Other than that… it’s an okay place.
