I wanted to go here for a long time since I had read such positive reviews. After looking at the offerings, I decided upon a croissant. While standing there, another customer came up alongside me. One of the employees came over and asked the lady if she wanted anything. When she said no, the employee walked back and resumed kneading bread. I really wanted that croissant, so I stubbornly stood there until another employee(and they have several) finally took pity on me and sold me that coveted croissant. It was a decent croissant, certainly overpriced at $ 3.50. But now I can at least say I’ve been there. Next time I visit the North Market, though, I’ll go to Brezel for my carb cravings.

I tried the omega treat, it looked like a giant mallomar cookie & tasted like a much richer little debbie with sweet cream, flaky chocolate shell and rich chocolate cake.

I had been wanting to try one of the famed cinnamon rolls for awhile and was finally able to but left a bit disappointed. In my opinion, they need a bit more icing or to be more soft. Normally I actually prefer cinnamon rolls to have a strong cinnamon flavor without a lot of icing, but this cinnamon roll was just way too dense without icing. The very inner portion of the roll was fairly soft and fluffy but the rest was too dry. If there had been more icing or some sort of cream component, it could have made up for the dryness. The roll was pretty huge(as it should be for $ 4), and could have easily been split between two people because it was a lot of sweetness for me to take down in one sitting.

A pretty solid Columbus bakery. I find myself coming back for their fruit scones and cinnamon rolls during the weekend. Omega Artisan baked good + Stauf’s coffee seems like a winning combination and is an excellent way to start the day. Their Cinnamon rolls are among the best i’ve ever had. They are humongous and only cost $ 3.50. Probably the best value item at Omega Artisan Baking. The only thing keeping me from giving a 5-star rating is their pricing. I understand it’s an «artisan» bakery, but the cheapass in me is still hesitant to pay $ 4 – 5 for a croissant. However, treating yourself once in awhile is totally fine and I totally understand that North Market is prime real estate.

The closest thing to a European bakery. The baguette is wonderfully crispy and the bread inside has the taste of the finest bakeries of France or Spain. I believe that says it all.

Not critiquing the food as much as the service or attitude of the workers. That makes up more than half of the experience. The servers/counter people need to be pleasant and not snarly and terse when asked a question. Especially on a busy Columbus Brew Fest Day when they were extremely busy. A little tip — if you have samples of bread out in front people are going to gather there to try so 1. Don’t put it close to the register 2. Don’t act irritated when people stop to sample 3. Put tongs or something out for people to pick up a sample if you don’t want people touching the bread 4. When asked a question about a product answer NICELY, without attitude to the CUSTOMER! Have been by here before many times but can’t say I will purchase here again. Plenty of other bakeries around. Try the chocolate croissants from Pistacia Vera, they are good and service is very accommodating!

Wow, so good! I discovered them while perusing the North Market and now it’s a must stop! I absolutely love all their breads. Really love their baguette, foccocia, pastries, and dipping oil. Freshly made very artisanal.

This is the real deal: truly the best artisan bread in Columbus, if not in Ohio, if not in the Midwest! It’s rare to find this sort of quality bread in most cities these days. We don’t have anything like this in D.C., for example. The rustic french loaf is remarkable — black crust and spongy interior. The baguettes are fantastic, too, as are the various Euro round loaves and the small pizza-like breads with either blue cheese/walnut or olive/cheese toppings. They also bake remarkable cinnamon rolls. I don’t get croissants here because Pistache Vera(at the other end of the North Market) specializes in French pastries, macarons, etc. Bottom line: superb, Euro-perfect, artisan breads. And well worth a wait in line.

I’ve had almost every thing here over the last 5 years, and its all good. Today I had their bread pudding for the first time. It was amazing. The custard was perfectly cooked, they inverted the pudding after it was done baking and then bruled sugar on top, so it had a light carmel flavor. It was honestly the best bread pudding I have ever had. This is a great bakery.

Third try was not a charm. My third visit at Omega ended like my previous two. Disappointed. Service is always nice. No complaints there, but the goods just don’t deliver. My very first purchase there was the chocolate bomb. It was just that, a bomb. Dry chocolate cake with a huge scoop of hard sweetened butter mistakenly labeled as butter cream, covered in a thin layer of chocolate. It fell flat among three of us splitting it. We threw ½ away. Second purchase, the cinnamon roll. I can’t completely fault Omega on this one, they just aren’t to my taste. I prefer PattyCake’s or French Loaf’s. I need more goo and more frosting. Third and final purchase, focaccia and mild sourdough. Focaccia was WAYWAY oily. More oily than any I’ve tried before. Decent flavor, slightly spongy texture, more salt would have helped overall flavor. Also, after one day, leftovers went completely hard. Mild sourdough boule was a good bread, but I tasted no sourdough at all. They could have called it a French boule and I wouldn’t have known any difference. This bread also had a spongy texture. A preferred boule for me would be La Chatelaine’s. In summation, Omega just doesn’t do it for me. Maybe I don’t know anything about their product, but I know what I like, and their stuff isn’t it.

Dropped in here while wandering the north market, and got a loaf of rustic french, an Omega bomb, a chocolate peanut butter bar, and a… bun made of left over piece of bread called«avanzucci.» All of them were quite good. The avanzucci made a great base for a sort of stuffed sandwich I put together, and though apparently a «one-day» bread, the french loaf actually held up pretty well over the course of a week, and served as a great base for sandwiches, a side for soup, and for pairing with some cheese I had. The inside was very soft and chewy, and worth trying. The sweets, though, were even more amazing, especially the choco-peanut butter bar. I think it’s the chocolate that does it. It is extremely rich, decadent, and creamy. Even though it’s not that sweet in the classic sense, it is ridiculously filling and rich, so that even I was not able to eat the whole thing in just one sitting. The bomb, meanwhile, was also very good and, again, not super sweet as I was afraid it might be. A piece of dense chocolate cake topped with dense cream and dipped in chocolate, it makes me think of what a hostess chocolate cupcake could taste like if it was made of «real» ingredients and not just vaguely chocolate flavored chemicals. In other words, it’s pretty good. Prices are fairly reasonable — the bomb was the most expensive item at $ 5 something — and the man working the counter was pleasant and helpful, happy to answer questions and accept a coupon I had. Also of note — it was fairly late in the afternoon when I arrived, but the bakery still had plenty of items for sale. Stock was running a bit low on some items, but for a Saturday, I was impressed with the selection still present. Overall, it’s certainly worth checking out if you are in the market and want some baked goods to round out your meal.

Drool. My wife and I went to Omega to pick up some focaccia for sandwiches, and it took just about all the willpower that I had to stop myself from eating the entire bread-hunk on the walk back home. It was warm, fresh out of the oven with the residual butter teasing me through the brown paper bag that it was wrapped in. …settle down… Anyway, it was fantastic. I am eager to try some of their other offerings especially the cinnamon rolls that I have heard so much about. I might have to update my review after another trip. The bakers working that day were extremely nice and very helpful — an absolute pleasure to deal with. I’m looking forward to my next trip to North Market and visit to Omega Artisan Baking; some of the best breads in Columbus!

Great if slightly expensive breads. The croissants are SPOTON. best I’ve had outside of Pistacia Vera since I lived in Europe. My companion loved the ham and cheese croissant. The almond was very nicely executed as well.

Delicious. Every item offered is worth breaking good habits for, worth cheating on every diet. I paid about $ 10 for a smaller piece of the focaccia bread, a galette, and a cinnamon-sugar donut muffin. Not too shabby, price range is within my ballpark. I ate the galette in my car with my morning coffee this past Saturday; it was so light and perfectly baked. I saved the cinnamon-sugar donut muffin for when I got home to refill on coffee, and sit on my sunny patio. It was so, so fluffy and delicious. I swear it sort of tasted like cornbread! It’s been 24 hours and I still can’t stop thinking about how yummy it was! I saved the focaccia bread for my Sunday chicken dinner; also very light and the perfect amount of olive oil and spices. The people here are very friendly and always give great suggestions. They do accept credit cards, but only on purchases greater than $ 5.00 Ask for my friend, Lauren :)

Try their authentic rye bread. They are one of the few who do it correctly. Be prepared to wait. They only make it on Friday, and it has to brew for about 24 hours. So it is available only Saturday and Sunday. One negative, they used to put seeds on the outside, in addition to the inside, but no more.

This time not 5 stars but mainly because they were out of my beloved cinnamon rolls, my german family swears these are the best and most authentic pretzel rolls outside of Germany and got a dozen for their two days stay here happily sacrificing dinner in favor of eating nothing but pretzels with butter, now that is love! I got the raspberry cupcake and the carrot cake cupcake and they were good no doubt, but they were not the cinnamon roll. The cupcake not your typical cake, not sweet enough for my taste, very good frosting but a bit dense and muffin like, the carrot cake fine but I’ve also had better. Also they didn’t have any croissants, my fault for going on a friday night. The breads are awesome, go in the morning and you’ll be as happy as I was last time.

Supermodels are pretty. But I don’t think I’d be friends with one. And that was my experience with the beautiful chocolate peanut butter cheesecake square I bought at Omega Artisan Baking. Great to look at but not as great to eat. I expected decadent chocolately goodness but got a lot of fluff and not much flavor instead. Oh well. I’d definitely try more of their baked goods if I happened to be in the area. Maybe some bread or a more traditional brownie. I still think this place located in the back corner of the North Market is worth checking out, though. Support your local bake shops!

This is one of, if not THE best bakery in Columbus for certain products. 1. Cinnamon Rolls — as big as your head. :-) Not all the time, but a lot of the time. These are sinful, gooey, and just SO yummy. We usually split one. 2. Challah bread — we’ve only had the day old loaf, but I made the best french toast we’ve ever made in our kitchen with that bread. 3. Cinnamon Croissants — almost as good as the cinnamon rolls. Almost. 4. Focaccia — the olive oil they use to make this stuff makes this SO delish. I had a piece of this and a few pieces of smoked meat from Thurn’s for dinner a few nights in a row. I wish I could give half star ratings — this would be a 4.5.

I thought this place was pretty good — a bit hit-or-miss, but good overall. I tried a few items: –Chocolate Cake Balls — really good pieces of small round cake covered in chocolate –Chocolate Covered Buttercream Desserts — a cake-like dessert topped with buttercream and covered in chocolate… these were alright, not as good as they looked –Blueberry Scones — Buttery and flavorful, these were perfect for someone who loves scones The chocolate cake balls were the best — almost like having a donut hole, but without it being fried — a clever way to have a bite-size treat. I’d go back and try some of the other items because they definitely look great.

I stopped in here last week before the hockey game at Nationwide Arena. Omega Artisan Baking is on one end of the North Market and offers a plethora of temping treats. However, I wasn’t sure whether the owner was going to sell me the cinnamon roll after I told him I was going to take it back to the hotel and enjoy it the next morning. He strongly recommended that I come in early the next day and try it the right way — fresh. Unfortunately, my travel schedule didn’t allow that and quickly headed towards the car with my prize before he changed his mind to sell it to me. I admire that pride of ownership, especially when I walked by after the game(~10:30PM) and he was still there preparing for the next day. Plus the day old cinnamon roll was delicious and a great start to my morning.
