They pretty much have one thing here and one thing alone: healthy green juice. Or «smoothies» as they call it(although what they have here is not like any traditional smoothie I’ve ever had). I am new to juicing and juices, but so far, this has been the one to keep me coming back. Why? Because they make it super easy. I have been buying juice by the half gallon and enjoying it as breakfast throughout the week. The half gallon has lasted me 5 days drinking a big tall glass every morning. When I’m out, I just take my jug back in and they fill me right back up. You can get the smoothie with or without apple juice. I get it with for a little sweetness, but I promise if you get it with the apple juice, it’s not super sweet or sugary or anything like that. It seems to me the apple juice just balances out the bitterness that might be in the greens. When you initially go, there is a deposit on your bottle(I believe it was $ 3), but every time you go back with your bottle, you get $ 1 off your refill. You can just taste that this stuff is good for you and even though it is bright green, it actually is really tasty and refreshing and I look forward to enjoying it every morning. The people here are also really nice. I was a bit intimidated to go in at first because I know nothing about juicing, but the girl I spoke to was very helpful and talked me through how everything worked with them and what I was getting(I wish I knew her name because she really was so nice). Anyway, this is a great local business and I will continue to support them for a long time to come!

I tried this at the north market last year when visiting. Took a half gallon home for myself and my boyfriend ended up loving it. Came back again this year and had forgotten but ate at Portia’s and immediately went to grab some. The girl working was so nice, she made a fresh batch right in front of me. I like the idea that they sell this one specific smoothie instead of a huge menu worth. It’s their signature drink and it’s great. I have not tried the cleanse but I’m sure it’s great!

I am a huge fan of Organic Green Fix. Primarily because it makes it easy to get a really nutritional snack/meal. My husband & I have been drinking this«smoothie» for a couple of years now and really miss it when the weather changes & the farmer’s markets close. However, now we don’t have to go without! We just hop in our car & head to their new store in Clintonville! The green appearance use to make me think twice, but now it seems so normal! And, the pulp in it is something you don’t even notice after a while. I must add, that I can really tell when I’ve missed a glass. My energy level isn’t good! The owners are both such sweet people, as is Katie’s mom! I’m always looking forward to the Farmers market to chat with the girls or their mom or dad! I must say, if you are looking for something different and tasty, you should check them out.

The tl;dr deets on Organic GreenFix: They only serve one kind of juice if you’re just walking in. You can get it with or without apple in it. It’s very green. It tastes pretty good if you’re into that sort of thing. The GreenFix juice has all the pulp in it. I think this is rad because pulp = fiber and fiber = all kinds of health benefits. If you don’t like pulp, be advised. They also sell cleanses. The cleanses have several different kinds of juice. Their hours are short and seating is minimal. Their storefront is really more for production than for hanging out and drinking juice, but it’s nice that they are open for people to get a fix when they’re not at farmers’ markets and such.

Organic Greenfix may be new to the storefront scene, but they’re definitely not new to juicing. They’ve been delivering to farmers markets for years and finally found the right retail shop to fit their needs. The store itself it really cute. The part where customers go is really small, but very cozy. I would totally feel comfortable meeting a friend there and hanging out over juice. Speaking of juice, it’s really not even juice – they call them smoothies. But get your idea of a smoothie out of your head. Right. Now. It’s simply juice that’s blended instead of extracted… meaning it’s really pulpy. I’m used to Native & SambaFresh who both use cold-pressed methods to prepare their juices, and they both offer lots of varieties of flavors. The owner of Organic GreenFix explained that she’s a big believer in eating the pulp, so that’s the way she makes her«smoothies.» I still wish there was a better word than that. Also unique to OGF is that there are only two types of smoothies: one with apple(that’s a bit sweet) and one without apple. There are loads of good things in each one… echinacea, flax, greens… umm. I can’t remember the rest. I opted for the sweet smoothie, and it tasted very fresh and healthy. I hadn’t eaten all day, so I could definitely feel the nutrients immediately enter my bloodstream. I’ll be honest, the pulpiness is a bit hard to get past at first. I just kept telling myself that it’s how the smoothie was designed! When I want more of a pick-me-up, I’ll probably stick to my beloved spicy carrot at Native, but when I want more of a complete meal-type juice – I’ll totally get one of these smoothies at Organic GreenFIx. Oh, one last thing… the owner of OGF is lovely! She and I chatted for a good 20 minutes, and she was so kind to answer my neverending questions.
