Love this place. Granted, I’ve only been here once but my experience was really good. I went to see a particular band and ended up being there for about four hours. All of the bands were great and the sound guy really knew what he was doing. Having good sound and mixing everything in small venues is sometimes overlooked but this place really cared. The bands sounded great and they weren’t too loud. They obviously care about the bands, how they sound, and the patrons’ experience. While here, the owners were close by and they were busting their butt taking care of customers and stocking items. As I was leaving, they were kind enough to thank me for stopping in and asked me to come back. That was such a nice touch considering there were probably 200+ people in the venue. This is my new go-to place for music. I’ll be back.

O’Sheckys LIVE was what I expected visually speaking. It went far beyond as far as what my head told me before walking in the doors for my first visit last night for LIVE music. Great job! Don’t let the outside of O’Sheckys fool you. The tattoo parlor sign on one window disguises what is a good size place for music and meet-up place. Good stage at one end on risers, small dance floor and a fair amount of seating. A very long bar running on the right-hand wall from front to back, seating maybe 30 or a few more. So I grabs my cocktail and get a seat at the bar’s end to watch some LIVE rock ‘n roll and expect to be blown out of the water with sound. Nuh uh… nothing could be farther from the truth. A guy who I’m sure was management and who was running the sound board and lights kept the levels accomodating to attendees. Being in the back of the pub and maybe 40 paces from the stage… I could hear conversation and enjoy music… in a small place. Excellent! There is a long patio-type area in the front of O’Sheckys and loads of patrons and muscians congregate there after sets. And a big SHOUTOUT for cleanliness. Can’t speak for women but the men’s room was nearly spotless and had plenty of go-too areas for relief. Hey! That’s a plus! Smallish bar. Great sound. Fun people. O’Sheckys seems to be doing well and should be a fan favorite among the Columbus north side live music scene. Do it!

Not a bad place to hang out and check out a show. I went here for a free show alil while back and enjoyed myself. It’s a pretty small venue and you can meet the bands afterwards. Drinks are reasonably priced and they are discounted during happy hour times(which I believe lasts til 9). Ex) Miller bottles $ 2.50 during Happy Hour and then $ 3 post-HH. I’d say if you have a chance to go see a live show or just need somewhere to chill for a few beers, this is a good place to swing by. Also, there’s a movie theater and a club real close if you want to mix up the night alil bit.

Pros: There is a live musician of some sort playing every night of the week it seems like and they are usually a pretty good band or soloist. There is also never a cover for 21+ which is really cool to be able to see live music without paying for it. The drinks have got to be some of the cheapest drinks around both liquor and beer which was very pleasantly surprising. Osheckys live has recently opened their kitchen which serves the best bar food I have ever eaten for items under $ 10. I am pretty sure that everything is made fresh to order and nothing comes out of a freezer bag which was a big surprise. They also have two pool tables, two bars, two stages, and an outdoor patio. One nice thing about this place is that the building is in a sort of L shape so you can go on the other side if you just want to play pool and not listen to the bands playing. Cons: If you are on the side of the stage the bands are playing the music is obscenely loud. I’ve been there multiple times because I love it so much and every time I talk to people when I am out on the patio they complain how loud it is and is usually the reason they end up leaving. They dont have a modern cash register so they take a long time to add up tabs. But this is also a good thing because they clearly do not keep track of how many beers or shots they sell very well and its not uncommon to get a couple free drinks with a large tab.

Not bad. Not great. I would go again. Bar staff was great, selection of beverages was fine. No in house eats but delivery didnt take long at all.

Let me say first, I hate bars. But this is a really cool joint! The food is really tasty(pizza, sandwiches & appetizer style) and I thought the drinks are fairly priced and the patio is a great place to sit with a beer and have a cigarette if you’re so inclined. They have acoustic/open mic nights once a week and the Blitz brings in the lively crowd on Thursdays(I think)! But other than the events nights it seems to be a pretty laid back place. They have 2 bars, pool table, darts and what I was told was two different live stage areas. And the entire side of the bar is huge sliding glass panels that I’m assuming open up in the fall & spring to make a sort of open air bar kind of vibe! The folks I’ve met here seem to be really nice & are a very mixed age range of 20’s-40’s. The staff also busts their humps too. The bartender didn’t make us get up and chase him down for refills, and was on top of taking away the empties so we didn’t have a table full of empty glasses! The owner who actually does work there(vs hanging out in a back office or off on a perpetual vacation) seemed like an awesome dude, he came out & shook our hands & introduced himself. The bathrooms are also some of the cleanest I’ve seen. I really have a good time here and don’t feel like I’m about to be mugged/shot at or subjected to a bar brawl as opposed to most of the other places near this area! I’d give it 6 stars if I could! HOW’S THAT for«Half-Full»?!

The place has really turned around since coming under new management(fromerly Jojoe’s). Drink prices are fair, and the interior renovations really did great things for the place.
