I generally avoid negative reviews. But in the case I would characterize the professional staff has hubris and incompetent.

First, i should say that I am likely spoiled by having excellent doctors in the past that I knew personally. When growing up, my doctor lived next door and knew our family exceedingly well. When I was in Boston, I was also personal friends with my doctor and he’d correspond with me over email, do all shots/​bloodwork/​etc (stuff they normally put off on nurses) for me himself. I could generally get an appointment with him in 2 – 3 hours of calling. Best doctor ever.
OSU Family Practice in Grandview however I won’t be returning to over a small mistake/​misunderstanding.
I was having surgery to have my tonsils removed, and I was seeing the doctor here primarily to get a physical and have pre-​op testing done.
I had an appointment scheduled for 9:30 am on the Tuesday prior to Thanksgiving. I showed up at 9:25 am, and I’m told that I had missed my appointment and that they couldn’t see me today. They claimed my appointment was at 9:00am.
I didn’t get a confirmation/​reminder call the day beforehand. I wrote down the time in my Google Calendar, and in a Stickies file on my desktop. I had 9:30 and I’m almost certain that they just keyed in the appointment wrong on their end. I forget things, but I don’t get digital records wrong.
I asked if one of the nurses there could simply perform the pre-​op testing I needed since I wouldn’t be able to see the doctor. This would have just involved bloodwork, a chest xray and a quick EKG. I was told no.
I asked when I could get another appointment. They said after January 1, 2011– over a month. I told her I had a surgery coming up, but she was unsympathetic and not nice at all about it.
I’m sure the doctor here is ok, yet, the staff at the desk isn’t. I’m finding another better doctor.

Generally, I’m not a big fan of doctors, but after having a doctor who didn’t take my concerns seriously for many years, I was glad I found this place. They were accommodating in making my appointments and took the time to run appropriate tests to find out what was bothering me. My physician also planned my prescriptions around my health coverage to make sure it was covered.
When I needed an emergency appointment, they fit me in right away and got me my test results in less than 30 minutes. I was feeling better in no time!
