I LOVE Panda Express. But this restaurant? Not so much. They tend to do things differently than others, one being that they overcook the orange chicken every time. I’ve been to this one a lot as it is the closest to campus but I would choose other locations over this one every time.

So this location closes at 10:30pm.if you go after 9pm don’t expect to get fed. Went for the orange chicken and was told they were out and weren’t making any more tonight. They were«out» of several other choices as well. Said forget it and went to 5 guys.

I’m a college student who eats out a decent amount, I received a $ 10 Panda Express gift card last spring, don’t have a ton of money to spend, and can walk to Panda Express in less than five minutes. The fact that I haven’t used that gift card in the 7 – 8 months I’ve had it should tell you something. This Panda Express is very bad! The food tastes like it has sat out all day and lacks any real authentic Asian taste at all. I’ve been to other Panda Express locations that were decent before, but this one is pretty bad. I might have to suck it up and go in sometime though and try to find something decent with my $ 10 card.

I live right around the corner of this Panda Express. Despite the fact that I regularly eat out, I have only been in once. When I did, the food seemed like it had been reheated several times before serving. Everything seemed fried, and overly sugary. If you’re looking to eat healthy, this would be one of the last places in the area I recommend. Your best bet for healthy chinese is likely Sun Tong Luck in the Carriage Place shopping center near Bethel Road and Sawmill Road. But, across the street, down some stairs and all the way down the hallway, there is another chinese place I can’t think of the name of. It’s authentic and the meals have great variety. I would recommend them over Panda Express or Number One Chinese any day.

Panda Express as a whole, and especially this location, is terribly overpriced, not good at all Chinese food. Other reviewers have professed this in different words. No matter what you get to eat, you will leave unsatisfied. Long review, short. Don’t eat here. You will regret it.

Unfortunately for Lisa and Panda Express fans everywhere, things have not improved here. It’s telling that the location has gone three years without a single new review. I’ve only eaten here a handful of times, and it was pretty dreadful each time. And the prices, my god! I mean, it’s still under ten bucks, but walk two storefronts down, brothers and sisters! I have no doubt that this big chain opened shop right next door to Number one and Joy’s with the intent of cutting into, if not shutting down, some of the local competition. This terrible excuse for Asian cuisine has had the exact opposite effect. I don’t think I’ve ever seen more than three people inside as I lock my bike to their fence so I can go eat next door at Number One. Lord knows how they keep their doors open.

I feel like I should write two separate reviews. One for Panda Expresses everywhere, and one for this particular Panda Express located on campus. This particular Panda Express just opened on campus, in a brand new building built especially for the restaurant. I was so excited that campus was getting a Panda Express. No more long treks to Easton for my monthly intake of Orange Chicken! Last week I’m feeling the urge for some Orange Chicken, the one from really deep in your belly silences any and all other urges and can only be quelled by a trip to Panda Express. Accept no substitutions! I figure this is a great time to check out the new location. Inside is by far the best stand-alone Panda Express I’ve ever seen. Large ceilings and standard Chinese lanterns, with brightly colored, Asian inspired art adorn the walls. I even spot a separate sushi and juice bar that I haven’t seen in any other stand-alone Panda Express. But I am not tempted away from my original goal. ORANGECHICKEN! Everything is fairly standard and what I’ve come to expect from a Panda Express. I order the Two Dish Entre with Chow Mien, Orange Chicken, and Broccoli and Beef. Fresh Orange Chicken was being made, so I waited patiently. What went in my mouth was not the Orange Chicken, Broccoli and Beef, and Chow Mien that I’ve come to expect and love. The Broccoli and Beef was oddly cool in temperature and I’m sure was not being kept hot properly. The Chow Mien was flavorless. The Orange Chicken, oh how disappointing it was. Whatever they make the sauce out of, must have been made with the wrong proportions. It tasted oily and not zesty. I’ll chalk this up to it being a new store. After all, isn’t the purpose of a chain restaurant to be the same everywhere you go? I’ll give it a few months and try again. For now though, I’ll go over to Easton for my tiny Food Court Orange Chicken.
