Party on State

Live music outdoors on warm summer evenings– does it get any better? In my opinion, it does NOT– especially when the organization, Downtown Columbus, brings in some of Columbus’s best musicians to play free concerts at the Hyatt capital Square.
The happy hour shows take place every Thursday evening throughout July and August on the patio of the hotel, which sets up an outdoor bar and provides table-​side service for the duration of the show. I’ve attended several shows the past few years and appreciate the quality of music we can experience for free. Not to mention, the parking meters are also free after 6, so arriving just after rush hour (when street parking is permitted) could score you a great parking place right on High or State Street.
I’ve had really good memories from this event over the past few years; meeting a bunch of friends in the cool hours of an otherwise sweltering day. Grabbing a few drinks and appetizers. Hearing great music. It’s one of the free music summer series that I really look forward to. Party on State is yet another wonderful, free musical event provided to those of us lucky enough to be in Columbus!
