They have a really unique concept. You can get a really quick and fresh meal here and you won’t walk away feeling bloated. The phat wrap can be assemble with chicken, beef, shrimp, or veggie, and all are equally delicious. You get to select your own toppings and suaces. I would also recommend trying Phatt Taco downtwon. It is a similar concept by the same owner, featuring tostadas.

My friend and I stopped by here for lunch the other day, and the wraps we had were pretty tasty, but I feel like they should come with some sort of side. We were both left feeling a bit hungry afterwards, and particularly for the price, I think we expected a bit more. I suppose we could’ve piled on more veggies, but there’s only so much of that I want on a sandwich, generally speaking. I did appreciate the fact that they had Mexican coke there though. You can never go wrong with that.

After meandering high street on a home football Saturday in search of something fast yet not disgusting gluttonous I saw this beacon of hope! Went with the chicken and cheese and proceeded to add nearly every veggie possible. The chicken and cheese aren’t that great but I definitely appreciated quite the array of veggie options. I’m a sucker for cabbage and loved that they had both kinds. They should consider adding more sauces that aren’t on the spicy sauce/mayo/cream side of the spectrum. When I have basically a salad in front of me the last thing I want is spicy hot sauce. Some vinaigrette options or a green goddess dressing would be nice. Would be nice to add other salad type cheese options(blue, feta, Gorgonzola, goat) and avocado! But overall pretty good for a small, quick and cheap campus joint.

I only discovered Phat Wraps, late into my senior year in under-grad…Which is a huge bummer because this place is amazing. The first time I visited was with a friend who had never been as well. The owner was there and was seriously the friendliest guy and walked us through the whole process. Basically, it kind of reminds me of «street meat» but more hands on and healthy! You order the meat of choice with or without cheese and they press the wrap for you. Then you add all your fixins’ They have alot of fresh produce to choose from. My favorites are the fresh jalapenos and fresh cilantro! Omg I love cilantro. Then they have about 6 sauces you can choose from… my favorite is the spiciest. But the spicy mayo is a close second. Prices are very very reasonable and you can get extra meat for a dollar! I wish they would open one off campus, because I would be there all the time. Grandview would be a perfect location for a second!

Delicious, fresh and flavorful lunch! A nice variety from Pita Pit or Subway. I would put the sauce(I mixed hot spiciy mayo and Italian) on top of the chicken and pita before I added vegetables next time(there will definitely be a next time!) $ 8 for a chicken pita loaded with veggies and a bag of chips — I didn’t all of it at Phat Wraps but I ate what was left as soon as I got home!

Good, cheap, healthy food. So glad I went to them instead of Waffle House when I needed a quick lunch! I had the steak wrap and it was essentially a giant chunk of awesome inside a wrap. They also have a great ingredient bar, as well as lovely sauces. Sadly I wasn’t able to sample many of them since I just ate the damn thing quickly because I was so hungry.

If you know about Phat Wraps and take people there, you get insta-cred on the OSU campus. When you want a place that very few people have heard of, is healthy, and good-tasting, you gotta hit up the Phat Wraps. Since I work at OSU, here’s a snippet of a daily interaction for me: Friend: Man, I’m so hungry. Where should we go for lunch that tastes good, relatively fast, but also healthy? I just wish places like that existed in-or-around the University District area here in good ol’ Columbus, O-H-I-O. Me: Wow, I’m seriously questioning our friendship since you apparently haven’t been to Phat Wraps with me yet. Regardless, off to Phat Wraps! *Later that day…* Friend: That was ridiculously good! How’d you find this place? Me: *Camera zoom on face, wink at Unilocal insignia* Thanks Unilocal! Thanks Unilocal, indeed.

Phat wraps is a really great place to get some good healthy food. There are many options for vegans and vegetarians, that are delicious. I enjoy the veggie patty and the vegan cheese, but I also enjoy the pepper jack cheese. My only negative feelings are that sometimes their topping are a bit wet and welted, and their hours seem to be very choosy.

Yes, the concept is great, with an ostensible emphasis on healthfulness, but there’s nothing healthy about greasy chicken leg meat(and the steak didn’t appear particularly lean, either). If you’re vegetarian or vegan this place is probably an easy 4*, but if you’re looking for a low fat meal fit for an omnivore you’re not going to find it here, despite what they advertise.

Chicken wrap is $ 6.50 and steak wrap is $ 7. Cheese is free and you can pay a $ 1 for extra meat(the amount of meat you receive kind of depends on who is working). After waiting a few minutes for the meat you can pick out your own sauces and vegetables. Lettuce, tomato, cilantro, etc. They have a sign reminding you that it is not an all you can eat buffet and please just use the stuff to enhance the flavor of your wrap. They also sell cookies and fruit cups. The inside is kind of small but it has never been crowded. It is located across the street from the Law School and the UDF. They used to have a breakfast wrap(my favorite) but they discontinued it when Eggfast closed down nearby. They have free password-protected wifi. The password is posted on the wall across from the cash register.(I don’t remember it)

I’ve been a fan of Phat Wraps since they opened and went back for lunch today and thought my visit merited an update. I’m not sure if it’s merely the winter season that the produce has suffered, but regardless, the quality was far below what I have come to expect from this establishment. The selection was pretty weak as well, but maybe that’s just because I ate after the lunch hour… perhaps the veggies were simply picked over? I also tried one of their soups for the first time, a cup of chili for $ 3. It was good and filling, but nothing special. I probably should have tried something other than the chili, but it was cold and generally hit the spot for that moment. Another addition to the«salad» bar is the«Peruvian Spicy Mayo», which seemed to have a bit more of a kick than the normal spicy mayo. I could be nitpicking, however. Hope that things get back up to standard at one of my favorite lunch places on campus. At least they’re not going to have to contend with the rumored Waffle House around the corner like Eggfast will. That aside, Phat Wraps introduced breakfast burritos, which looked intriguing. Will definitely try them next time.

After reading rave reviews of healthy wraps, fresh toppings, grilled meats, and quick service, I promised my tastebuds a treat and went to Phat Wraps. The result? At minimum, it was lower calorie than I anticipated, because everything fell out of the«wrap»(less than plyable pita), filled with dry dark meat chicken(isn’t that an oxymoron?). I was skeptical of all the ingredients, left out for everyone to sneeze in and otherwise contaminate, and beyond this… it was pretty over priced. Call me unimaginative, but I left feeling like I had been tricked into buying a «wrap» that I wrapped myself. Did I really pay for the privilege to make my own sandwich? Or did I pay them to put dark meat on top of a pita? I guess I just don’t get it, and as such will be taking my business elsewhere.(Perhaps Chipotle, despite its potential for unhealthiness they at least wrap my ingredients into a wrap, and they don’t even advertise this in their name.)

Phat Wraps is a good idea executed poorly. It’s nice to have an alternative to all the greasy chain restaurants, but Phat Wraps doesn’t quite make the cut. It is probably a good choice for vegetarians or people who want steak, but the chicken was not good. They use dark meat chicken and it was chewy and fatty and I felt kind of ripped off that I paid that much for dark meat chicken. If they switched to white meat I would feel very differently. I also don’t each much red meat so I though about getting vegetarian, but instead of doing something like fajita veggies, they offer this really gross sounding vegan ham. I wouldn’t even want real ham. Next were the toppings. The veggies were very good and I must compliment on that. I really like Thai Basil which I was surprised to be offered. I also had a problem with the sauces. It is always nice to have a variety of sauce options. However, all of the sauces were pretty spicy. I thought there should have been a few different options that were less spicy. So all in all, I think with a few minor changes Phat Wraps could be a pretty decent place. Their green initiative is nice, but they need to put a little more thought into the main options(steak, chicken, vegan ham). I haven’t had the steak, but I would not get the chicken again, and am not interested in the vegan ham. They need to offer a white meat chicken and some sort of mixed vegetable base as well, and then I think it could be a success.

This is probably one of, if not, THE most favorite place of mine to eat lunch on campus. Fresh ingredients so you know exactly what you are consuming, and a tofu option? I have died and gone to heaven. Campus dining is very pro-veggie– but the High St. options are lacking, unless you want something consisting of carbs and cheese. To be frank, I am not a vegetarian, nor do I claim to be… but I do like to make the veg decision and cut out the meat more often that not. If you haven’t been to Phat Wraps, what are you waiting for?

I walked by this restaurant for years before I checked it out. I assumed«wraps» were referring to those tortilla — things people on low-carb diets buy at McDonald’s. Nope. At Phat Wraps, you choose a meat(or tofu), they grill it and put it on a pita bread, and you have a vegetable bar and sauce bar to choose from. These are fresh, organic, local(delicious) vegetables, and there are plenty of sauces like Chili ranch, caesar dressing, white balsamic vinegar, several kinds of hot sauces, several kinds of mustards, etc… They also sell delicious organic cookies and chips, and they always have free water with cucumber, mint, or orange inside. You get your food fast, and it’s cheap(around $ 6) — by far the best lunch option within walking distance of Campus.

It’s good, but I’m not calling it five star good. When I went it was only being run by one person(during weekday dinner time, is that normal?) They were out of a few key greens that I would have appreciated on my wrap, otherwise it was great, and the things I managed to fit into my wrap were tasty. Oh sure, I could’ve badgered the guy to refill the stuff, but he was already running around like a madman and I was in a hurry too. I’ll be back, and will have to update. Quick service was good, since I parked ignoring the signs in the UDF parking lot…

«So fresh and so cl…» yummy! Such a simple concept, but executed so well. The owner said he opened up nearly two years ago to offer a healthier option for fast food. I wouldn’t necessarily lump this place in the fast food category anytime soon, but what I got was super healthy and served fast. The score of people I saw rotating in and out grabbing lunch on-the-go would probably agree. I was sort of confused about how it all worked(although there is a poster instructing you on what’s proper) so the guy working there was kind enough to give me the lowdown. Pick a meat(sausage, shrimp, chicken, steak) or no meat; choose cheese or no cheese; receive pita filled with meat and/or cheese; choose veggie toppings; choose sauce; eat. I was particularly impressed by the veggie selection. Cilantro, cabbage, limes, carrots, tomatoes… all were incredibly fresh. In fact, I saw people washing and chopping more in the back. Yea, the parking isn’t necessarily convenient and the space is a little cramped, but the wraps — the WRAPS — are totally worth it.

Are you tired of being fat? Sick of eating pounds of grease with saturated fat? Then you should try Phat Wraps on 12th, one of my favorite places to go for food that doesn’t contain chemicals that have a fair to good chance of shortening my life expectancy. I get the steak wrap and load up on vegetables knowing I don’t always eat like i ought too. Jose, the owner, runs a great operation and has plans on expanding. Its a bit tucked away but can be found by anyone who can use a phone, computer, or common sense. I strongly encourage anyone to try phat wraps as an alternative to fast food chains, not just for taste but for your waist as well.

This is a review coming from an individual who doesn’t like sandwiches much. I heard about this place because of Columbus Vegan Week and went with a friend two days ago. The menu is really simple. Order your protein, then add your own veggies and sauce. I ordered a vegan wrap and my friend ordered a chicken wrap. There is a wide selection of veggies and sauce. Besides several bottles of sauces on the salad bar, there are also plenty to choose from at the counter. Both our wraps turned out to be really good, despite what some Unilocal reviewers said. Staff were friendly as well. Kudos to Phat Wraps for making an effort to be environmentally friendly in their business practices. Their materials are biodegradable and I did not see them using styrofoam boxes and cups as some restaurants do. It would have been perfect if they do away with bottled drinks and serve drinks with reusable cups instead. Anyway, they are definitely in the right direction and would love to visit them again.

I’m vegan, and I love veggies. Really, I do. I go to Subway, and I get a very standardized sub with all the standard veggies, and it’s okay. It’s consistent, and I think that’s why a lot of people love it. Phat Wraps is different. For one, remember that Subway analogy, where all the goodies were on one side of the sneeze-guard, and I’m on the other side? At Phat Wraps, all the stuff that’s important to me(veggies and sauces) are sitting in containers like a salad bar, out where I can make on-the-spot decisions without having to remember the names of each item as I go along. Yes, I know it’s not hard to remember the name of each vegetable, but it can be somewhat annoying having to say them out loud. Plus, yes, I don’t have to say«extra» before each veggie, either. If I want extra cilantro(I know, right?!) I can just dump it on. The day that I went, I decided to do a cilantro-with-lime theme, and it worked rather well. Once again, back to Subway: there are no vegan meat-analogue options currently. That means you get bread, veggies and sauce, or if you want to have a salad, you can have veggies and sauce. If you’re a vegetarian, they have a patty, but I believe it has eggs and other such stuff in it, so it’s not vegan happy. So for vegans, Subway can get old really quick. Phat Wraps actually has a vegan patty product which tastes pretty good, especially grilled-up and put on a nice wrap. When I go to a restaurant that takes the time to research the food and puts«vegan» on one of the options, I feel good that they A) might understand what is and is not vegan and B) they may have a decent selection of items that they can steer me toward(and away from). They had a few vegan dessert options(cookies) and I’m sure something a vegan could drink, although I’m primarily a water-guy. Back to the veggies, though, because this is what I loved: on-ice, self-serve, great selection. I mean, they had cabbage, onions, julienne carrots, super hot jalapeño slices(whew! and I like it hot!), lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers plus the aforementioned cilantro and limes. Lots of hot sauce, which is generally vegan, plus a few sauces which were not, except for one. The best part? The owner quickly, and without hesitation, was able to tell me what was vegan and what was not. I love that in a restaurant. If the rest of the staff is as knowledgeable, this is certainly a big plus. The atmosphere… well, it’s funny, because the outside looks okay, bright blue, and a bit hidden away across from the UDF, but when you go inside, it has very contemporary styling. I felt comfortable and, if there wasn’t somewhere I had to be, I’d be able to happily read a newspaper or magazine while I ate my wrap. Clean, well-lit and friendly service. It’s relatively inexpensive, at around $ 6 to $ 7 for the wrap, and a few bucks for your cookie and drink if you’re so inclined; but remember the fresh veggies. I really don’t think you’d get a better selection of these anywhere else, especially not at these prices, and certainly not with self-serve veggies and sauces. Overall, I’d say this is a great place to go, and you’ll leave feeling you had a good value and pleasant overall experience. Veggies!

The other day I ventured down to Phat Wraps in 95 degree weather. I was determined to go try a new place on campus, as I had not packed my lunch(again). After reading the reviews, I figured it would be a good change of pace. First of all, its kind of tucked away. Not their fault, but slightly inconvenient. When I walked in, there were no employees present and I was kind of confused where I was supposed to make my order. After about 20 seconds, a gentleman came out and took my order. I had the chicken, and to be quite honest it was kind of dry. The wrap/pita was tough and almost stale. While the toppings, which I got to choose, were fresh, it didn’t make up for the underwhelming base of bread and meat. There were lots of sauces to choose from, and I tried the«Spicy» mayo. Wasn’t really spicy at all. I was pretty disappointed. For $ 6, I would not go back. If they lowered prices, maybe, but I don’t see myself making the hike to go get it again. I’m sure there are plenty more places I can try and review and get better meals for that amount of money!

Phat Wraps respects me. They trust me as a consumer to finish off my wrap the way I see fit. More Jalapenos? Less Carrots? I don’t need to make a list and repeat it to the cashier. Just a simple choice of meat and a yes or no on cheese. Phat Wraps let’s me decide the rest. And the toppings offered are fresh cut veggies of the best kind! Carrots, Cabbage, Lettuce, Onions, Jalapenos, Tomatoes, Cilantro, Cucumbers, Limes and SOMUCHMORE! Bottles of hot sauces and dressings are at your disposal. Bottled beverages are available to drink or you can choose some refreshing(and free!) cucumber water. You can take your $ 7 and go to Chipotle and stuff your stomach full of 10 cents worth of rice and the allotted corporate-approved amount of veggies — or you can take your $ 7 and get some quality meat and top it any way you like. With as much as you like!
