Oh my, does this place exist anymore? I had completely forgotten about it until I saw the listing here. It is(or was) a big house several blocks to the East of Ohio State campus, occupied by one of those home/churches(sort of a cross between bible camp and a fraternity) that pop up around college campuses. They would have shows there, in a rather large room that I think was carpeted? The sound wasn’t great, but they occasionally booked legitimate touring talent. Shows you would see previewed in Columbus Alive. You could bring your own booze: you had to put it in their fridge and they would check your ID every time you went to retrieve it. I heard rumors that they got out of the venue business after a disastrous punk show turned violent. Or maybe it was a rap show? I guess I never looked into this because I wasn’t really fond of the place to begin with. Haven’t heard anything about Red-16 in years, so who knows?
