Amazing food and service !! Their Schezuan tofu is phenomenal for vegetarians great ambience and staff is very nice. I wish pricing was a little cheaper. I will still go! Yummy!!!

Far to Americanized. Way more Americanized«Chinese» food than Japanese. Yes they have sushi but not like anything you would find in Japan(nor even a mediocre sushi restaurant in Indy). They cover up poor ingredients with gloppy cream and shiney sauces. Not all Asian food needs to be fried in a brown sauce.

Good sushis, good entrees and good service. Ask for their Chinese menu if you want to try some authentic dishes.

It’s alright. The service was average. If you want sushi this is acceptable but not the best or worth me going back. I had the black dragon, snow mountain, volcano, Philly and some sake.

I have been eating at Ru Yi for years and am a very big fan. They have great prices, great atmosphere, and a great menu. I have never been disappointed with any meal I have had there. That being said, it doesn’t have the same glitz as Taku or the quirkyness of Hisui(not a bad thing, just an observation). The owner is always there and the wait staff are always very friendly. Ru Yi can’t be beat if you’re looking for a safe bet, pleasant experience.

My favorite asian restaurant in Columbus. Their sushi is fresh and delicious every day… which is really a pleasant surprise because that’s not even the case in the Indianapolis restaurants. The food is good, staff is courteous, the manager is personable, and the prices are reasonable. Sushi can be pricy for a la carte options, but overall I’m glad I don’t have to drive to Indianapolis to get above-average Japanese food.

Their prices are a lot higher than some other chinese places in town and their food tastes the same. Sometimes the waitresses get confused when we order and they arent sure of what we want. Just okay, maybe itll get better and i can update this review. We’ll see.

Food is good, real Chinese style, great taste, I love it! And waitress is also delightful, but the only thing Is that it’s a little bit over priced there. Will go there again for sure, but could not be as usual as I thought considering the price.

I ordered the beef pad thai for carryout as a walk-in customer. I was very hungry, but found it challenging to finish the whole bowl due to a heaping portion. However, I kept piling it in due to how great it tasted. The beef was tender and noodles perfect. I’m getting hungry just talking about it! Will definitely be back to try the sushi!

Downward Spiral — hope they can regain what they used to be. I used to come to Ru Yi on a consistent basis because you could get Americanized Chinese cuisine with decent sushi for a fair price. What I encountered the last time was a manager who was begrudgingly wanting to correct an order that our table had made. A group of four of us went for lunch. I ordered off the«secret» Chinese menu which has both words and photographs for what one might ask for so you can easily point out what you might like. Upon delivery of our meals, we received different food and then were informed that there was no brown rice(wish I knew that at the time we ordered!). The manager/owner came over to our table, a younger Asian man who seemed highly inconvenienced by our request to correct the order. This was his suggestion: «I mean, I guess we can fix it but you’ll have to wait ANOTHER25 minutes for your order.» No kidding. I’d rather wait and get what I asked for rather than eat something we didn’t order. To be clear, this wasn’t a language barrier issue. I think what ended up happening is that we received another table’s order. They were simple things like Chicken with Broccoli or General Tso’s chicken… not what we ordered. We also had a native Chinese speaker in our party which surprised the manager when he found out one in our party spoke Mandarin. We’ll be back but next time we’ll just leave to go to Jimmy John’s next door if our order is incorrect.

Sushi 3⁄5(as good as it can get in south central indiana) Vegetarian dishes 4⁄5(ask for vegetables in garlic sauce, it’s not on menu) Chinese menu items 5⁄5(you need to ask for it, hotpot is a must have) Chicken varieties 4⁄5 Service 2⁄5. No server seem to past for more than couple of months. Extremely slow, and only restaurant in the world where server who doesn’t understand order becomes confrontational.

As I am coming from another state, this restaurant is on of my choices for lunch or dinner. I would stay this restaurant is not the best Asian place in US but it is acceptable. Good customer service! I would recommend Thai Curry if you like spicy.

Finding a Sushi place in Columbus in its entirety is a surprising idea! But anyways, a decent sushi place. Staff is super friendly and the chef who makes the Sushi is very friendly and engaging as well. The fishes seemed to be fresh and the rolls were pretty decent. So if you are in Columbus and want to have decent sushi I think this could be your place. We also had soup to start off and it was pretty good as well. Happy sushi eating!

The avocado salad was just ok, not the best needed a little dressing. The crab rangoon was good. Pad Thai and the dumplings were great. Overall good meal. Would go back if in the area.

Ru Yi has the best General Tso’s chicken in town. It’s hands down my favorite. I love that it’s not over run with peppers, and that paired with brown rice is definitely something to write home about. They also have some delicious sushi, and the best California roll of any sushi restaurant in Columbus. The presentation of the sushi is also great, which is always a plus. We keep going back with no plans to stop!

Generally a Japanese place with some Chinese and Thai menu items. I usually come for lunch and get the bento box with a salad, couple of dumplings, teriyaki chicken, and a few california rolls. Everything is decent, but nothing here sings. Most recently my chicken was tough, the salad was overdressed, and the california roll was a little mushy. Will I go back? Yes, but not often. Many things seem to often need a little more care. I feel like they try to do too much.

My favorite Asian food in Columbus. Super friendly staff. Good sushi, Chinese, and Thai food. My favorite is the basil chicken plus edamame. Great lunch specials, too. Plus they have a selection of Japanese beer. Love this place!

Horrible service! Do not eat there if you have a shellfish allergy, I made it known when we ordered our carryout, and when we got home, there was Shrimp in my food. We called the manager right away and it seemed to pain him to apologize, nothing was offered to fix the issue, a supreme disappointment especially for what you pay!
