Savvy Spoon is a delight. The owner is wonderful, so friendly, and puts together an excellent tea. Harrison House is a beautiful location for this — we ate in the parlor, and it was a very lovely room and totally set the right atmosphere for the occasion. Tea itself is delicious and filling! There are a number of teas from which to choose, including a selection from amongst the blacks, greens, whites, an oolong, and herbal teas. Each person gets their own personal pot, so if you go with a group you can each choose your own. The food is amazing — it tastes great and is beautifully presented. The menu changes, so you won’t know what you’re getting until you there, but it will include some savories, fresh fruit, scones, and a dessert. We enjoyed egg salad on endive, traditional cucumber and cream cheese tea sandwiches, thinly sliced radish over French butter on bread, scones(cream for the non gluten free folks and gluten free almond-scented rice scones for me) — served with lemon curd, butter, and strawberry jam, and a variety of fresh berries and plum slices. This was finished off with a delightful flourless chocolate cake with raspberries. We also got a sneak peek of a new gluten free dessert she was testing, which was also delicious! Reservations are required at least 24 hours advance, and at that time you can let the owner know if anyone in the party requires vegetarian, vegan, or gluten free options, and she will be happy to accommodate you. We are already planning our next visit. You should plan one too! Go enjoy tea!
