Food was mediocre and way too pricy for the lunch menu. The hibachi chef cooked the food quickly and my girls were expecting a show like in other hibachi places but there was none. The service was not bad but not many people were there at lunch time. Totally not worth it and will not eat here again.

The worse service I have ever had. The sushi and appetizer came out after the main course was on the table. I would never recommend anyone that enjoys dining out to go here.

You think anybody could cook chicken without drying it out so much you have to have sauce to dip it in I’m not really impressed! Rice is just ok!

I have never ate here and NEVER will. I’m all about service. I went into Shogun around lunch time. A guy saw me walk in and he went into the back, I’m assuming it was the kitchen area. I was the only customer in there at this time as far as I know. I sat there waiting for service for about 10 mins. and no one ever came to service me. I guess they didn’t want my money. I politely got up, left, and went to Wasabi where the service is excellent.

Horrible food. Service was subpar. Much better sushi places in Columbus. Check out sushiko on Macon rd. Would not recommend this place to anyone. Save your money.

Love these japanese steakhouses. Like the other 2 Unilocalers commented about sharing a table with strangers. Part of what makes these places so much fun. Yeah I do also agree the prices are a bit high. But it is in line with these types of restaurants. Will be back the next time I am in columbus.

Shogun’s is a good Teppan-style restaurant, just like all the others. The food is pretty good, the performance by the chef is usually entertaining, and the price is adequate. Unfortunately, there is nothing remarkable about Shogun’s over the other Japanese teppan-style restaurants in the Columbus area.

Sodium… Just okay, my least favorite in Columbus thus far. Locals took me there once I’d relocated here. I’ve tried two locations, and neither were impressive. There are better Japanese restaurants in Columbus, but this just isn’t one of them. Speed, service, and flavor all leave something to be desired. There are less expensive Japanese places(I can think of two) with much better food.

I love Japanese steakhouses and this one suffices. I am not crazy about the sharing a table with total strangers concept but know it comes with the territory at a Japanese steakhouse. The food was good, expensive but that’s par for the course(no pun intended) as well at a place like Shogun. If it weren’t so pricey I would want to eat here at least a few times a month.

I mainly eat at the one in Montgomery Alabama, but I heard there was one in Columbus, GA also. Everytime I go I get the Geisha Special that is Steak and Chicken with Rice and veggies. They cook the food in front of you and this place is the best of all. I have dined at a few steak houses in Atlanta, but none come close to this place. If anyone is in the Columbus area or Montgomery, Alabama area please do yourself a favor and check this place out.

I don’t want to rate but you have to give stars to give a review so I went with it’s average so as not to move the needle. I didn’t want to assign stars because I didn’t actually eat here. I sat inside, checked out the atmosphere(or lack of), and looked at the menu then decided to go somewhere else. It seemed more like a Red Robin with a Japanese themed menu than a real Japanese restaurant.

I’ve only visited the new location once– but if it becomes anything like the old one– it was disgusting! The new one was clean when I visited(of course… it’s new)! The food was the same– very skimpy! The steak looks more like a slice of ham(very thin). The prices are ridiculous considering the amount of food you get. Everything tastes pretty good, but other local Japanese restaurants are better to me!

I’ll agree with the previous reviewer, it was alright. the Japanese food was okay, we had 2 california rolls and some hibachi. It was funny though all the waiters and even the cook were not asian. Oh well. I heard it burned down about a month of so after we ate there. Prices were a little bit higher than average, décor okay, food okay.
