This is a pretty cool flea market. It’s actually located at the South Drive-In Theater. I love that they are making use of the drive-in theater property this way — it think having it double as a flea market during a couple of days a week is a great idea. I have been here both as a vendor and as a shopper(only on Saturdays), and I like it from both sides. I felt like it was very reasonable to be a seller, even if you don’t get the ID card and you have to pay the entire $ 10 instead of $ 7. It’s nice that if you are not a regular vendor and you are just selling stuff like you would at your own garage sale, you don’t have to have a vendor’s license. We made way more the day we sold here than we ever have when we have had our own garage sales at home. I was also very impressed with and appreciative of their web site, which let me know exactly what to expect as a first-time vendor. As a shopper, it’s really awesome to have so many vendors to choose from.

Decided to check out the South High Flea Market today as it was pretty decent weather. Not a whole lot of vendors on Wednesdays and the business seems to peak at 9am to 10am. I’ve been here in previous years and Saturday and Sunday are really the days to go. Many more vendors and a lot more stuff. The Wednesday flea market is easy to navigate, a big semi circle with not too much to look at but hey, it’s a crap shoot you know? I’ve found people are pretty laid back and friendly enough. Most will give you a deal if you ask nicely and aren’t asking them for the moon as far as a discount. If you go, I’d recommend getting there early as most vendors seem to be packing it in after 10 or so, trying to beat the heat I guess.
