Went there for the Big Ten wrestling championships. One of the worst college arenas I’ve been to. Old, small seats(I’m average size), hot with no ventilation. Super slow service. To start with, the parking attendants were slow, backing up the lines, the concession stand was the worst. 4 people working doing the work of two, maybe 1 ½. Soooo sssssslllllllooooooooowwwww. Enjoy the matches but not the venue. Remember to dress lite, or drink a lot of water. Oh, and if you have 2nd level seats and want to go to the upper level to use the rest rooms to avoid lines, you actually have to go all the way down the stairs to go back up all the way to the balcony level. They also should have opened the concession stands on the 3rd level to help out the long waiting lines on the mezzanine level.

Parking in the French Field House lot was free while parking in the stadium lot was $ 5. Get there early and park closer to the Arena

My favorite place! Along with all of the others on campus, St. John Arena is a magnificent structure. You’d have a hard time going to any campus, hosting an event in a building that is decades old, that is second to its larger successor, but still holds so much tradition and glory. St. John Arena is all of the above. Though it doesn’t host Men’s or Women’s basketball any longer it is still a host to many other OSU sporting events. The best viewing experience may come during Skull Sessions that are held two hours before every home game. Free to the public, this is not only your opportunity to view SJA but it is also a chance to hear TBDBITL. A free family experience that is a must for any Buckeye.

This is an older arena, but kept in a decent condition. Went to a Skulk Session for the first time before an OSU football game. Glad I got there early to get a decent seat, but the more people that filed in, the warmer it got in the arena. Once the Skull Session started, it was pretty warm, but not unbearable. I would definitely go back, but not when it is sweltering outside.
