Pro: An awesome lunch option that sticks to your ribs… for cheap! Prior to this, I would have been less-than-enthused to have a cafeteria-style meal nestle in the back of a farmer’s market. Alas, the myth is dispelled and a new truth is revealed: Stoltzfus is good food! I elected to try the half roast chicken with green beans and mac/cheese. It filled my stomach and made me sleepy all at once! And for less then $ 9 for very generous portions, you can’t miss! My company not only raved about the ribs, but subsequently got sleepy when the last bone was stripped of meat. Clearly these ribs did their job! Con: The entire farmers market is a «Wed-Sun only» operation, and the Amish folks that run Stolzfus take Sundays off for their holy day of obligation. Respectable on all accounts, but now I crave for it on the off days… Bottom Line: Simple, cheap, and delicious! I will be back…

I dine here every week!!! The line is long but the wait for the BBQ is worth it. Although I love their BBQ, I think it is a little high; their BB ribs are like $ 8 or $ 9/pound. I do not like their sides. They are bland but I can make my own at home! The Baby Back ribs is what I am there for!!! Delicious! Finger lickin good BBQ sauce!!! I get extra. I also like there chicken. They have sit in dining but I take mines to go. They sell out quick so I would place an order and pick up. If you come to dine after 3 you are pushing it. They may have some BBQ left for you. If not they have specials on food that is left since they are closing. Enjoy!

The open-faced turkey sandwich is outstanding! Quick, friendly service. Try the lemonade, too. *Note* The place gets super crowded at lunchtime on Thursdays, but isn’t usually too bad on Friday.

I walked into this Amish mart to buy lemonade, and walked out with a full belly. My nose drew me to the back where the food is served. The long line is worth it. Ribs are good. I got a whole chicken, all meat came off the bone. I think the«hot» wings are better than the smoked.

Been coming here for yrs n yrs! Every part of the amish market is great!!! They r open thurs-sat at 9am-4:30pm.(Open time could be wrong). Along w other things, please make sure to try the smoked turkey legs n lemonade. Also they give away the raw chicken livers n gizzards if u ask. Oh 1 other thing… if u call ur order in, it can b ready in 15mins n u dnt have to wait in those long lines because they can get ridiculous. They will take ur order for the soup n sandwich counter too! I do it all the time n when I walk past the line to get my order, ppl may feel a way but my stomach thanks me. Ps…turkey legs take a while so if u need thm in the early morn, u must call the night before or once they open to get them asap.

They have great food. Let’s get it straight the food here is not BBQ. They cook all the meats in large rotisseries. However the food is very good the ribs are great as is the chicken. Most of the side dishes are also good. IMO the red potatoes are the best. Give it a try the Amish staff are also very friendly. Ciao–

Discovered this Amish outlet quite by accident while stopping for fruits and veggies at the Columbus Market which is actually located in Springfield. The Amish are here only 3 days, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Stolzfus genuine hickory smoke BBQ have very meaty baby back ribs in a deliciously fruity sauce. The meat is fall off the bone tender. Also dry rub spare ribs, crispy and delicious bacony flavor, even better with sauce all over it. Rotisserie chicken, great flavor, but somewhat overly cooked. Eat it there cafeteia style, and take home by the pound. Very reasonable prices, good side vegetable dishes, fresh lemonade, orange juice, as well as other BBQ items, like smoked turkey drumsticks, sausage. Also in the Amish area: an excellent Bakery with very good donuts, pies, decent bagels, bread and cookies. I asked if they had any sliced bread, and one of the ladies sliced the whole loaf for me by hand. Browse the Deli, Candy aisle, Organic Meats, Arts & Crafts, and Furniture Dept. Go early, skip breakfast and go straight for the BBQ.

OK so I am shocked that I am the first one getting to write a review for this considering every time I go there are like 10 people in line and the tables are full. This place turns out more BBQ in one day then most places will in a month. First, for anyone wondering the location — this is inside the Columbus Market on 206 in Columbus, NJ. Specifically, this is part of the Amish store. Not sure what else you would call it but they have a series of «shoppes within a shop» there. For example — the meat counter, the candy store, the woodworker area, and this one — the Breakfast Counter/BBQ restaurant. Note: very limited hours as I think its just Thursday and Saturday that they are open. Now, don’t expect tables with table service. Its wait in line for a while, order from the counter, and get thrown(well, handed very politely) a paper plate by some very friendly folk. Sit down, find a seat, and eat. If you are high maintenance and expecting fine china, this is definitely not the place for you. As for the food, its darn good. Is it the best or top notch restaurant quality? — no. But its good. Haven’t had something bad yet. Prices are very reasonable, portion sizes are good — I would say just about everyone likes it. Most people though probably go cause you can spend $ 8 and get a pretty darn good BBQ meal. If you like BBQ and are nearby and don’t mind the atmosphere — give it a try.
