I had lunch here today and while the food isn’t the greatest, the service more than made up for it. I had a dish called Pilau, which is stewed lamb served with rice and a small salad(mostly onions and tomatoes, chopped). The meat was dry and to my mind, overcooked, but after thinking about it I realized why that is. It was likely Halal which means that the blood had been drained before cooking(maybe before purchasing). The rice was fine and so was the salad. I also liked the fact that they used real dishes and silverware, unlike a lot of similar places.

I love to try new and exciting foods. It’s the very first Tanzanian restaurant in Columbus. I researched their history before I went to get a sense of the cuisine(yes I’m a huge nerd). In the area’s long history, the region has been occupied by many different cultures over the last 300 years and it shows in the food. Not quite Indian, not Somalian, but a unique blend of the two and more. The spices and flavors were extraordinary! I really enjoyed the food and will be bringing friends. From what I understand, they just opened. The staff was incredibly friendly. I recommend starting with the beef samosas and the beef and rice dish. Excellent!
