The Commons on Kinnear Apartments

The best part of living here is the fact that it has a garage. Not many student apartments have this feature. No more snow shoveling in winter mornings. Saved a lot of time. Staffs are friendly and helpful. I live in a 3 bed-​3 bath apartment, which is good if you prefer more privacy since we don’t have to share bathroom with others. Rent is reasonable as well.

Not terrible but grounds are often disgusting. Puke in the hallway that hasn’t been cleaned up in 2 weeks. Trash everywhere outside. Shady towing company that will tow you even if you have a pass and won’t reimburse you. Looks pretty but overall they do not care about tenants it seems

Pricey for what you get and location. Maintenance staff ignores apartment repairs and managers have attitudes. I would have much rather lived further out than live here.

This place looks nice and seems nice until you move in. I lived there for 3 years and looking back I wasted my money at least 2 of the three years. The office staff doesn’t care about anything except their Facebook. The manager Ann is quite condescending and not at all effective. They take forever to get any repairs done and might possibly get them correct the first time if you are lucky.
My dryer hose ripped and was blowing lint all over my laundry room. I asked for a new one. 4 weeks later and several requests later they installed one… The kicker they forgot to connect it to the dryer. Even more of a mess in the dryer room and it was blowing lint and heat all over.
The units are small for the price and honestly the painting and carpeting suck. There are places where the tacks for the carpet stick through and will cut your feet of you don’t wear shoes inside. The garbage machine is always broke and the trash piles up in the parking garage.
If I owned the complex the first thing I would do is fire everyone and get competent employees to run it. I mean I know real estate is at a premium near campus but look elsewhere before you rent here. If I could give zero stars I would.

Fair warning to not sign a lease here. Office staff is horrible, maintenance is never completed in a timely or efficient manner. Rent checks are often lost/​misplaced. Hallways are never cleaned. Parking is ABSURD. Noise levels are high as the walls are paper thin with barely any ventilation. Wifi is entirely too slow, not to mention often times unbrowse-​able, where the external internet services are supposedly responsible. No one in the office will take responsibility for their faults. Gym equipment is always broken and hasn’t been fixed in the 2 years I lived here. I can’t wait for my lease to end so I can get out of this place!
