Finally got to stop by last week for dinner. It was worth it. The two gentlemen working the truck let us know they were only able to accept cash. They told the couple in front of us where to find some ATMs and offered to take their order and have it ready for them when they came back. The couple took them up on the offer. My husband got the Turducken tacos($ 7) and I got the Dr. Meat special($ 12) which consisted of a Yak or Duck burger with turducken meat and a side of roasted potatoes. I was told I could get the curry instead of the potatoes. I chose the yak burger as I didn’t know when I would get there again. To be honest, I’ve been hearing about this yak burger for years and I wasn’t sure if it was yak meat or not. I had a bite of the tacos and it was flavorful. The Dr. Meat was so full of meat(yak, bacon, turducken) that I couldn’t taste the yak. It was good. You’d think it would be huge but it was a manageable size. And the couple in front of us? They came back with cash. They were served the same time we were so didn’t get cold food.

Decent burger Finally was able to try The Coop at the Columbus Food Truck Fest today. Had the Bison burger which has a sunny side up egg on it along with cheese and arugala leaves. I tried it because someone that had just received his food told me it was good so I wanted to give it a shot. I’m not a big egg fan, but wanted to experience the burger as they intended. As soon as you put the bun on top of the burger’s egg the yolk breaks and runs off the side of the burger making a bit of a mess. THe flavors were alright, but since I don’t like egg the yolk is what I remember most. Someone that likes eggs would probably really enjoy this burger.

Yak Burger … Please !! This Food Truck has a little of everything and the thing I love the most about this truck is that she is using fresh local ingredients from the North Market to make the delicious meals. I personally have only had the Yak Burger(mind blowing) I will be back to try some of the different things very soon…

Currently posted up inside The Hey Hey Bar in German Village. The Yak burger will blow your mind, being gluten-free I got it without a bun and added some oven roasted tomatoes. The arugula is perfectly tossed in their homemade mayo. I also tried the turducken tacos. I have had duck tacos before at the Malibu Country Club, and these were waaay better. The sauce that came with them was also a perfect compliment to the trifecta of meats.

Now THIS is what a food truck should be. Columbus food trucks take notice. The Coop is different from all of the other new trendy food trucks because it actually serves good food, decent portions, and at a reasonable price(for what you get). They also make everything at least a little interesting, even if it’s a standard dish. And everything I’ve had is delicious. I think The Coop is most well known for the Yak Burger. Really, it tastes like a really good regular beef burger, but that’s okay. It’s served with a fried egg and plenty of sauce make it drippy and messy and super tasty. It’s a bit rich for my tastes and I get full about halfway through, which is better than most of the newer food trucks that leave me completely starving. I’ve also had their French omelet sandwich. I’m not sure what makes it French, but whatever. It came with a mayo-based topping, cheese, a generous portion of greens, and high-quality bacon on bread that resembled Texas toast. And I thought the Yak Burger was messy! I preferred this over the yak burger because it was a little less punch-you-in-the-stomach rich/meaty. Both sandwiches are served with chips. They have a bunch of Pellegrino sodas available, including interesting ones such as «blood orange.» I’m a sucker for sweets so I also had to try their crème brûlée. which was amazing — the custard was delicious and the burnt sugar coating was perfectly crunchy. It came with a home-made ginger cookie which had a great ginger bite. Overall, I’ll be back, and I’m willing to break my pseudo-vegetarianism for whatever they’re serving up.

Going off what I have read on here and from other places, I opted to truck on down and try me a yak burger for dinner. All I can say is, I am sooooooooooo glad I did. The woman was very nice, the food IMO was superlative. I will definatly be recommending this to friends as well as taking visitors from out of town to this cart. Thank you, The Coop :-)

The coop is the best! My husband and I had heard about it through some friends and wanted to try it for a long time. Finally we tried it for our anniversary. The selection is unique, and delicious. The yak burger is juicy and tasty, the turduckin hash is to die for! The food is filling. A must have!

I ate at THECOOP today at DININHALL. We ordered turducken tacos and yak burgers. I have never tasted anything like the tacos. There was a lot of depth of flavor to the meat and the pickled red cabbage slaw was subtle, but balanced out the richness of the meat. My dining partners really enjoyed the yak burgers and the dill potatoes on the side. The only complaint was that the portions were too big– what a complaint huh?! I hope to go back soon!

Oh man. I will probably get flack for my review, but… here it goes I had my dinner at The Coop at Comfest. I had been raving all week about how excited I was to try a bison burger at this truck after reading reviews. Spoiler alert: I was disappointed, but I will start with the good first: My Meal: Turduken tacos and Yak Burger for fifteen clams. THEGOOD –The Turducken taco. This was *delicious* and the part of my meal I felt comfortable eating. A must-try. THEBAD –Staff touched credit cards, cash and food with same, unwashed hands. –Bacon on my burger was practically raw… it is not that I have a predilection for crispy bacon, but I do for cooked bacon –my burger was uncooked on the was not cooked to a safe enough heat, and after taking a couple of bites and observing the inside I decided I did not feel comfortable eating the rest. Again, there’s rare(which I don’t like anyways) and then there’s raw. This was my first time there, so I want to believe that they usually cook things better and this was just a($ 15) circumstance of poor execution. The staff did seem a bit overwhelmed with the amount of people in line. There’s really no excuse for cross-contamination and unsafe cooking practices though. I wish I asked for my money back because I would really love to buy another Bison burger on a normal business day.

I haven’t been to the location on Indianola Ave. but I tried The Coop yesterday at Comfest. I had the Yak Burger and it was super, super good. Over easy egg on top? I’m in! I look forward to trying more at their homebase soon. I’m sure my star rating will go up to a 5⁄5!

I feel really creepy, but I am literally obsessed with this food. I’ve seen her fiancée there every time I’ve been there, and I want to shake his hand and say«GOODFORYOU! NEVERLETHERLEAVE! HOLDONTOHERFOREVER! LOCKHERINYOURKITCHEN!» I’m not ready to go to jail, nor am I ready to be banned from her truck, so I will refrain. I have never genuinely loved everything from a restaurant the way I love everything from here. I tried the regular old beef burger on Saturday. I saw angels. Gabriel came to me in a vision and said«this burger is bestowed upon you from the heavens» and now I believe in angels and a higher power… that is how good her food is(full disclosure: That’s a lie, but this is the closest I have ever come to such an experience). We also tried the cucumber/peanut salad. I loved it, although it had a bit of a funky flavor I couldn’t put my finger on. The boy didn’t enjoy the salad, but I thought the peanuts added an amazing texture that this salad needed. I don’t want her to ever leave my neighborhood. I want her to open shop in my front yard. I want to eat her food every day. I hope she sees this and starts being open on Sundays. I would legitimately eat here EVERYSUNDAY. p. s. I will try to stop writing a review every time I try something new. It’s just really hard for me not to shout it from the rooftops when I fall in love with everything she makes.

Sensational. I arrived with my partner in nomz around 7:45pm on a Friday night to find that most of day’s menu had been sold out. Our disappointment was quickly assuaged with what turned out to be one of the most exceptional(and affordable) meals we could remember. From what remained available from the menu we were offered confit duck leg served on a bed of rabbit stew. Also still available was the yak burger. As delicious as the confit duck was. and it was damned good. we should have eaten it first. It was a fine combination. Rabbit is not so much my thing, but the duck was perfect. Duck well(read: properly) done is a beautiful thing. BUT… the yak burger was a tough act to follow. The owner’s fiancée as standing out front of the trailer conversing with customers while we were awaiting our order. He appropriately(we later determined) described yak meat as «beef turned up to 11». The burger consisted of a medium-rare yak patty, bacon, Havarti, arugula, «special mayo» and a fried egg. I wish I had taken a picture of this sandwich before it was assembled. The egg was so perfect, it wouldn’t have been out of place on the cover of SAVEUR. Based on the aromas coming out of the trailer, we were well prepared for a delicious meal… but not for what awaited us. The burger left us dumbstruck. We alternated between stunned silence and laughter and comments to the effect of «Oh my God! Do you believe this thing? Holy sh*t this is good!» The combination of ingredients on the burger were simple, subtle, and inspired. They were a perfect compliment for the yak. The yak was explosively flavorful and juicy, but not greasy(just what we were told to expect). It tasted like beef. on overdrive. There is no place to sit here, but that’ll change because I’m gonna pitch a tent out front. Come join me. P. S. If you work with me, and are wondering if it «blew my mind»… Yes.

Called up the coop minutes before they closed to hear what was on the menu, I had heard good things before and was anxious to try them out. A friendly voice uttered something about a yak burger with arugula, cheddar, and a fried quail egg and my mind was made up. Excellent service and an epicureans dream, the dishes reminded me of what you’d find on the menu of a lovely french bistro. The food was amazing! I wished we had ordered more. My husband and I were quite hungry after a long day, the two dinners didn’t quite fill us up, but the prices were very reasonable and I would’ve loved to try the spicy broccoli and udon dish. I know what I’m trying next time. Oh, and I had the Duck leg confit with a simple salad, just right with the broth. Definitely eat at The Coop! The food from this truck is better than the food from most restaurants! Kudos!

Dropped in today on my brother’s recommendation. A little truck in a nondescript parking lot that I probably wouldn’t have noticed if I hadn’t been looking for it. Its on Indianola just north of Arcadia, west side of the street. I got two orders of the chicken makhani to go. Im definitely a fan of Indian food, and have had this dish at a few different Indian spots, and their rendition was solid. A little bit spicy(not enough for my taste) served over Basmati rice. Quite tasty, but the portion was fairly modest. It would have been nice if it came with some Naan(garlic or butter style even better). I’ll definitely be back, hopefully when they’re serving the bacon burger cooked in duck fat.
