The 25 year aged Balsamic is overwhelming. It is tasty and just a bit syrupy, just like you hope it would be. My vote its the best in town at retail. I also enjoy the garlic infused olive oil. Very pronounced garlic flavor. Pricing is on the high side, but quality matters, especially on the balsamic. Friendly staff.

Justin and the staff at the Oilerie know their stuff when it comes to balsamic vinegar and olive oil. Tasted everything before deciding what to buy. A great store!

So I learned about the Oilerie on Saturday when a close friend hijacked me and told me we were going for a ride and that it was a surprise. I guess she doesn’t think that I’m spontaneous and that she needed to be all secretive for some silly reason. Well all I can say is that no matter how she got me there, I’m sure as heck glad she did! I don’t live far from the Oilerie but for some reason, had never heard of it. I had never sampled such divine olive oils and balsamic vinegar in my life. The Oilerie has ruined me. No more buying EVOO in bulk for me! I couldn’t believe how amazing olive oil could taste. I brought home a fresh bottle of one of their varieties of EVOO and a bottle of their 25 year old Balsamic vinegar. If you buy nothing else, get the balsamic vinegar! I came home and whipped up a homemade salad dressing with my EVOO and balsamic vinegar from the Oilerie and it was by far the best Balsamic salad dressing I’ve ever had. The good stuff makes all the difference!

The Oilerie is a cool spot. I never knew olive oils and balsamic vinegar came in such varieties until now. All their products can be sampled before purchase, which makes it less of a guessing game and you can actually buy something that you know you’ll like. Their 25 year old aged balsamic vinegar is amazing! I seriously wouldn’t mind just sipping it for nourishment. The sweet and sour is kind of addictive. I also enjoy their pear flavored balsamic and their olive oil. Good stuff! They also have other products such as olive oil based lotions and other spreads. I think it’s a good shop to check out if you pass by the Grandview area. It’s also a good gift idea for a housewarming or friend who enjoys cooking.

Read an article about the Oilerie and finally made it over to Grandview recently. The lady working there was super friendly and helpful; we wanted a good flavorful olive oil and balsamic vinegar for summer salads(specifically caprese!) and she steered us in the right direction, and also offered other recipes for things we like. The connection they have with their farmer in Italy was so interesting to hear about, and everything about this place is quality, right down to the packaging. It was really hot out the day we went by, and she offered to hold onto our purchases while we spent the afternoon wandering Grandview, which we really appreciated. I will be going back when fall comes around for some truffle oil. It smelled and tasted divine, and I’m compiling cold weather recipe ideas to use it!

I finally caught the Oilerie open! Typically I am roaming Grandview in the evenings or after dinner at one of the nearby restaurants, but they close at 6 or 7p. Very pleased with the offerings. Thought it was interesting that you can use little white cups to taste the olive oils, most of which are infused with wonderful flavors — some fruity, some savory, some garlicy, etc. My taste buds asked me to try the lemon olive oil and they were very pleased I obliged. Not too strong, but more importantly not too subtle. I used it tonight on italian green beans — YUM! The gentleman working was very knowledgeable and offered a lot of information about the shop. He mentioned they would offer special tastings for groups, which sounds like a fun girl’s night idea, though he said we couldn’t bring food in. Hum. Overall a great store that I plan to return to. Great gift idea as the bottles are very charming and decorative.

This is a fun store! The shop may be small, but the tastes there are huge! As others have mentioned, you can sample a variety of products, including the olive oils and balsamic vinegars that are the Oilerie’s signature products. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted warmly by the employee who gave us an overview of the store and pointed out their signature 25 year old balsamic(it is a must try!). There are small paper cups all over the store that you can use to grab a sample of oils and vinegars ranging from a cinnamon oil to a spicy chili oil. The avocado oil was also a favorite of the ones I tried. In addition to the oils and vinegars, there are a variety of unique specialty products, such as a wide range of stuffed olives(pepperjack stuffed olives! whoa), fancy pastas(chocolate pasta?!!), spice mixes, salsas, and more. I definitely plan on making a stop at the Oilerie come Christmas time, as there are a lot of wonderful ideas for gifts.

We stopped at The Oilerie this afternoon to pick up a couple of Christmas gifts after the shop was mentioned on the morning news. The space is small, but adequate for display of the numerous varieties and blends of oils, vinegars, spices beauty products, etc. The first thing that strikes you upon entry are the shiny silver oil containers. I love the fact that you can sample each oil/vinegar. The service was truly outstanding– just the icing on a wonderful cake. We bought the 25 year old Balsamic vinegar, two bottles of EVOO and some bread dipping spices. I thought the price was reasonable for specialty products. Overall, a great experience. We will definitely visit again in the near future. These products are great gift ideas.

If you want to try oils and vinegar, then this is the place to go! I have never seen such a large variety of oils and vinegar and you can try every one of them. We ended up going with the truffle oil and the 25 year aged balsamic. One that we would probably go back to try is the avocado oil. The Oilerie would get 5 stars, but they only have one size so it can be a little pricey.

Stores that have a fun, interactive aspect for customers are always the ones that stand out and become my favorites! The Oilerie of Columbus is one of those places. The Oilerie is new(depending on when you read this) to Columbus, opening in October 2011. It is one of 7 stores across the country owned by the same folks. I happened to be walking in Grandview during the grand opening weekend of the Oilerie and popped in to see what the place was all about. The founders of the chain of stores were present and the staff was congenial and helpful. I have returned multiple times since and experienced the same courtesy and attention. The store gets its name because it primarily features unique varieties of olive oil. There are nearly 20 different olive oil flavors offered at The Oilerie, including cinnamon, garlic, chili, Italian spice, nutmeg, avocado, mushroom, truffle, vanilla, and the list goes on! Additionally, they have 8 varieties of balsamic vinegar that are mouthwatering and amazing. My favorite of these is the pear balsamic. I also very much enjoy the balsamic vinegar that has been aged 25 years! I purchased a bottle of this for about $ 19 and have been using it quite a bit! Each of the olive oils and vinegars sold at The Oilerie are kept in large metal«vats»(that resemble beer kegs) with spigots. Customers are encouraged to taste the products right there on site by filling a very small paper cup with the different oils and vinegars. There is no cost to this and no limit to the amount of products you can try! While an olive oil tasting may seem a bit strange at first, it takes little time to warm up to the idea! Your palate will be dancing with joy while tasting the extremely refined flavors. On weekends, one may find samples of salsas, barbecue sauces, or breads offered by The Oilerie as well. If you choose to purchase oil or vinegar, it will be bottled on site out of the very vats you sampled from. If you are a cook(no matter what skill level) you will absolutely love The Oilerie. The staff offers tons of great ideas for recipes(for instance, coating salmon with lemon infused olive oil, or splashing basil infused olive oil in ground turkey). If you’re not a cook, this shop is great for gift ideas! In addition to edible goods, they also sell olive oil chapstick, face wash, shampoo, and other beauty products! Go in The Oilerie for a tasty experience you are not to find many other places in Columbus — or the country!
