I visited there last Sunday night. It was my first time there. What a great atmosphere. Beth was my bartender, she walked me through the whole menu and helped me choose a beer that I loved. Thanks Beth! Will definitely be back in the near future

The beer selection is good and I like how the bar is really big. The food is also good. We live in the neighborhood and come here frequently and just keep finding the service kind of sucks. The bar tenders and servers are often more involved in their own conversations to help the customers. This is something we see every time we’re here. I don’t mind asking to be helped but its been pretty consistently poor. It’s too bad bc we love the atmosphere here especially during the weekends for brunch or day drinking. It really is an awesome spot if only the staff were more attentive.

I can’t say that I like the Pint House. Plenty of other people do, so maybe it’s just me. Start with the name. It’s called the Pint House, so one would expect there to be a strong beer focus. And the actual list of beers usually isn’t bad. But you know what is missing? Pints. Specifically, pint glasses. Instead, they have two confusing and ill-conceived vessels for serving beer. The first is a tulip-like glass that resembles nothing so much as a champagne flute for beer. The other is a super tall«mug,» the likes of which I last saw containing mass-produced light beer at an Applebee’s. Such mugs are the worst. They are poorly designed and awkward to hold. If I could, I’d like to personally smash every single one that has ever been produced. Furthermore, it appears to be rather arbitrary which type of glass you recieve. As far as I can tell, glass type is determined solely on the basis of ABV, not the suitability for the particular type of beer that you ordered. For a place whose name suggests a beer focus, this just won’t do. There are a few positives. The beer list, as I mentioned is typically not bad. And the short rib nachos are actually quite tasty. Ok, one more negative. Much of the food. All? Is served on wooden board. It’s not cool, it’s annoying. Gimme a plate!

We were cruising through the Short North district trying to find a decent gastropub that was open on Christmas Eve and stumbled upon this place, which couldn’t have been better! Very hip atmosphere — loved the green glow of the menu boards and the rustic, modern seating. Clean and classy place with friendly service. The tap selection was outstanding, with tons of local breweries for only $ 6 a pint! We also got a $ 6.50 flight of three mini beers. The kitchen was still open until 10PM, and the quality and selection definitely exceeded my expectations. The food was fresh, well priced with great portions. The menu had tons of shareable dishes(wings, housemade pretzels, beef and fish slider trios, etc) and we ordered a pizza for $ 13 — it was huge and delicious! Easily shared by two people and could work for like 3 – 4 light eaters. Loved the festive Christmas tree the restaurant had at the front of the house. It was made out of green beer bottles!

My favorite stop in Columbus! Staff was great and loved the fun brunch/bar menu! I had to try the huge double Bloody Mary that had everything but the kitchen sink on top! It was a perfectly made bloody! We split fries, wings and the breakfast pizza. Great beers on tap and beer selection in general!

loved the pint house! if you read my many other reviews, you will find that i am a huge craft beer girl! love it. would bathe in it if i could~ #justsayin however, the menu looked great as far as food goes, we ordered the pepperoni and sausage flat bread pizza.(2 pizzas to share between 3 of us!)~perfect amount! delish! the beer choices were great. so many great beers on tap, and not overly priced. i tried 3 different pumpkin choices before settling on one. the crowd, a mixed age group, but yes, lots of college kids.(eeek. am i dating myself?!) great place to belly up to the bar and watch the game! definitely would go back!

I finally made it here! An old friend and I went on Wednesday, which is chicken night. $ 10 for a half a chicken and a beer is an awesome deal, especially in one of the most happening neighborhoods in Columbus. The beer has to come from their can selection, but there’s quite a few choices so there should be something for about every beer lover. There’s also an expansive draft list. My friend got the burger and a salad. It was an absolute ton of food! I also went back this Saturday, and it felt like a totally different bar. It was jam-packed, and the service was pretty slow, but the atmosphere more than made up for it.

Hosted a large work event here for about 100 people and I experienced great service every step of the way. The food was great and the staff were very helpful in keeping tabs on food level and recommendations. The venue’s back room is perfect for large events and staff are very attentive to your needs. They are also willing to work within your budegt, which is a huge plus for my organization.

I’ve been here a few times and definitely have mixed feelings. lol. I’m usually pretty impressed with the beer selection they have rotating on tap, but almost every time they’ve been out of the beer I wanted. But whatever I end up getting is usually good, and I like the variety of breweries they carry. Now the service here is pretty terrible, but I guess you kinda expect that with a place like this. But man, last time i was here it was on another level. We ordered beers, then about 20 min later the waitress came by and told us the computer had crashed and our orders weren’t put through and had to take our order again. Then when the beers actually came out, the order was wrong. 3 strikes and you’re out yo. Besides that tho, this place is chill for a night out. It gets packed at peak times and super claustrophobic, so I really wouldn’t recommend coming here at popular times(aka after OSU games. Don’t do this. I repeat, do not do this). Pro tip: photobooth Happy drinking y’all.

Oh, the good olé Pint House… They truly live up to their name with a wide selection of drafts. They keep a decent rotation that never disappoints. In addition, they have pretty great food. You can’t beat their soft pretzels with a cold brew. Unfortunately, I rarely dine there because it can be quite crowded. That brings me to my next point… The Pint House certainly attracts a weekend crowd. Sometimes it’s great, sometimes it feels claustrophobic, and sometimes it seems like a frat house. Although they have plenty of TVs, it can be difficult to view events when the place is crammed with folks. If you can beat the crowd, they have a really cool photo booth to get pictures with your usual crew or new acquaintances. You can’t beat a bar with entertainment. But wait, there’s more! The retractable roof and large open front are great added features in the warmer weather. In conclusion, Pint House is a blast most of the time, but you have to strike when the time is right.

Worst service ever. Like it’s an inconvenience I want to order food or a beer. The servers are smirky and rude. I felt uncomfortable being there. She said the food would take an hour and it’s probably Because she forgot to ring it in.

Very lively atmosphere for the advanced SOCIAL bar fly. The food is good and portions decent. There is substantial beer selection. Get here early or expect to stand around.

I have never been to a more terrible place in Columbus. I would rather die than spend a dime in this dump. The food is terrible and the service is even worse! Do NOT waste your time in this awful establishment, trust me! I have been several times and can say the following: if you don’t like waiting, don’t go here. You will wait in line to get in and then wait forever for service and then wait even longer for drinks and longer for a bathroom. Some guys who don’t make it to the bathroom just relieve themselves at the bar and no one seems to care. If you’re in the area, check out Arch City or Short North Tavern. I promise you a much better experience!

Sure it helps that I live about 35 seconds walk away from The Pint House but I’ve always loved it even when I lived in the suburbs. This is a solid spot, location wise, for happy hours, nightlife, and Short North living and entertainment. The crowd is very mixed on weekend nights and it ranges from college to young professionals(most majority), to middle age. Beer selection is amazing. My favorite is Shock Top wheat and this is one of the few places in town that has it. The food is really good. Wednesday beer chicken tap takeover is a solid deal. At $ 10 you get half beer drunk chicken, house fries, and your choice of a drink(Soda/beer/etc). Are you kidding me?!. Loaded fries is a famous item. Their burgers and pastrami are also very flavorful. Staff is always friendly, attentive and helpful. On busy weekend nights, shout out to the door bouncer. He does a great job with the huge line outside and I have no idea how he handles that mad crowd! Happy hours time and weekends during the day tend to be more chill time and less crowded. Perfect spot for open window seating, a quick weekend brunch with friends, or just hanging out over drinks. The place is solid for games and sports watching. Screens all over the place with 2 huge screens centered in middle sections. If you’re out with friends on a weekend night, and don’t mind a busy loud place full of energy and fun, or just looking for a nice happy hour with coworkers in the heart of Short North, look no further.

This place is solid. Totally not my scene, though. Come here if you like enormous, loud, energetic rooms. It’s so loud. And it’s dark. I can’t see my food. But I do understand that many, many people enjoy that kind of environment. The beer list is extensive, the food is good if not super friendly to anyone with a specialized diet or health consciousness. I watched some friends eat the pretzels. They had nothing but wonderful things to say. Beardyman got the Reuben Quesadilla. I thought that this was a unique dish with excellent execution. The fries were good but nothing crazy or fantastic. Queen Nefertiti got the mac and cheese plus jalapeños. It was creamy and magical, crunchy on top and gooey in the middle. The jalapeños were the perfect addition. I got the veggie pizza without cheese and was pleased. For being this crowded, the service was prompt. My pizza was on a flat bread. House made marinara was excellent, not too sweet. Lots of spinach and tomatoes, they sprinkled oregano on top for me. It keeps getting louder. My ears are bleeding and my head hurts so badly. The house made pickles are probably my favorite thing I’ve had tonight. Briney, not overly sour or salty, and a hint spicy. So so good.

I like going here during happy hour, as it is an insane nuthouse later at night and on weekends. Good beer and food specials. Usually there’s 4 drafts that are half off, and the selection is fantastic. Food is great and comes on these wooden cutting board thingies! The beer cheese soup is insanely rich(it’s basically a cheese sauce/dip), and I think the same stuff is used in their mac ‘n’ cheese. Loaded fries are also delish. We accidentally came on a Tap Takeover day recently, which means they had a bazillion local beer options featured, highlighting a few breweries in particular. Fun but a little overwhelming. Table service is good but not great, and I like the variety of seating options(taller tables, bar, shorter tables, range of sizes).

This place gets pretty packed on Friday and Saturday nights, so if you’re not into huge crowds and battling to get a drink, then I wouldn’t recommend. Also, beware of the large number of douche bags that are sprinkled in among the cool people that come here. I’ve seen tensions rise here simply from people accidentally running into one another. That actually happened the last time I came, but luckily the situation was diffused pretty quickly by said d-bag’s friends. As a whole, Pint House is a pretty cool place with a great beer selection. They always have craft beers on tap that I’m not as familiar with in comparison to other bars with good draft selections. The bar here is huge and basically takes up two restaurants worth of space, but on weekend nights, it’s usually still packed end-to-end, and there never seems to be enough bartenders on. I actually tried the food for the first time the other day, and it was less than stellar. My buddies frequent here more than I do, and every time I asked if a certain dish was good, it was usually met with an ‘eh, it’s okay’. I ended up going with the buffalo chicken pizza, and although it came out pretty quick, it just didn’t do it for me. The marinara sauce mixed with hot sauce and blue cheese tasted a bit weird. I’m not sure why they decided to keep the marinara on a buffalo chicken pizza. Aren’t these the guys that own Forno? Step up the pizza game. My friend got the mac-n-cheese with bacon and chicken, but it came out with chicken and jalapenos and no bacon. Our server was very friendly and helpful, but it did take a bit to get drinks every time we ran out of beer. It was a Sunday and pretty busy it seemed, even for them, so I’ll give her the benefit of the doubt. Overall, I’ll be back here, but I’ll probably just stick to the beers. They have some pretty good specials every day of the week(Sunday was $ 5 burgers and $ 3 select drafts among other things). This place is pretty legit when it comes to the beer if you’re not shoulder-to-shoulder with someone, so I’d recommend passing on the weekends and checking it out on a Thursday or Sunday, or any other day you want to drink for that matter!

Disclaimer: I’ve only tried the cocktails here, so I can’t speak for the food/beer/etc. However, I was so pleased with them that I felt I had to at least give a shout-out to their bartenders. Came here with my boyfriend for post-brunch drinks on Sunday. Upon first entering, I thought the place was much smaller because I could only really see the front area near the bar. It wasn’t until I ventured to the restroom that I saw an entire back half with a ton of open seats, so be sure to check that area if the counters and tables at the entrance are all filled. We tried their Pint House Mule and their Spicy Bloody Mary. Both were excellent! I’m a huge fan of anything and everything ginger, but I’m not great at dealing with the taste of alcohol, so I was worried that I might not enjoy my cocktail(the pint house mule) because of that. Surprisingly, I couldn’t taste the alcohol in my drink at all(this is coming from a stereotypical tiny Asian girl with the alcohol tolerance of an ant), and the alcohol didn’t react badly with me at all either! For once, I actually didn’t turn into a tomato after the first half of a sip. Furthermore, the ginger taste was just strong enough to be enjoyable, but not overwhelming. I’d actually never tried a Bloody Mary before coming here, but after sampling my boyfriend’s order, I’m 100% hooked! The spices add a good punch to the tomato juice, and they’re very generous with their garnishes. To add credit to my arguably inexperienced opinion, Bloody Mary’s are my boyfriend’s drink of choice, so he knows a good one when he tries it, and he enjoyed it so much that he ordered a second one(or maybe that had more to do with the fact that I stole half of his drink…) Friendly staff, tasty drinks, a bunch of TV screens to watch the games… what more do you need from a bar?

While I was in Columbus for the weekend I went out for the night at Pint House and also got an early dinner there the next day. Great food and a fun atmosphere! So if you go past midnight be prepared to wait in line. Luckily, it moves quickly. It’s a crowded spot but a lot of fun. I went with just two other people and we had so much fun, especially with the photo booth! The food is what really inspired the 5 star review. The menu has what I would call sophisticated bar food. Staple items with a more interesting combination of flavors than the usual fare. My friend and I shared the chicken tenders, pretzel sampler and the short rib nachos. The chicken tenders were decent, but the other two dishes blew us away! The nachos were cheesy and greasy like you would expect from nachos but with more complex flavors(the sweetness of the meat marinade, the spiciness of the jalapeños, the saltiness of everything else went soooo well together). The pretzels were so good with the sauces, especially the cheese filled one in the cinnamony dip. Salivating writing this… need to go find a way to burn all that off so I can come back soon!

This would be my second time here and luckily they delivered this time around. We arrived on a Wednesday around 5:57 to beat the 6PM deadline for their half-off happy hour. We seated ourselves and was greeted by a waiter immediately. We were able to have our orders placed and water at the ready by 5:59, which is a pretty impressive feat. As other reviewers have mentioned, the converted fire station has plenty of open space and elbow room. Even on a packed weekend night(the last time I was here), it never felt cramped or too loud. There are huge TV screens around that would make this a great place to watch a game. However, food service here is slow regardless of weekend or weekday — I don’t think their kitchen can keep up. This time I ordered loaded fries(parmesan, parsley, and sour cream) and their mac & cheese, as did others of my group. While it took ~20 minutes, the food was very tasty and presented well. For our group of 6 at my last visit, it took about an hour to turnaround food — all of our burgers(the 8oz pint house burger) were well overcooked. Overall service was great as well, as we were never short of beverages throughout the night. The kitchen is a hit or miss affair.
