The Salvation Army

This is probably one of the best thrift stores in the city. It’s absolutely huge, and the selection is always pretty awesome. It’s really a go-​to kind of place for a lot of the high end resale shops, so get there early while the gettin’s are good!

Very decent selection. A good spot to find just about anything: Clothes, furniture, audio-​visual entertainment, books, etc. A good spot, better than Volunteers of America, across the street.

This is my favorite thrift store in Columbus. Easily overlooked in its off the beaten path location in German Village it sells everything from clothing items to home goods in it’s warehouse like space. This place is huge. As you climb the steps to get to its store you are always a little overwhelmed by its large offerings. Rows and racks of clothing coded with little dots that indicate days that it will go on sale. Really outrageous dress selection that make you wonder if this trash was ever someones treasure. Great choice if you are looking for a Halloween costume that is unique and under five bucks. Nice area for purses and men’s wallets and a decent chance of finding shoes that aren’t too scuffed. Kids clothes, men’s and women’s, pj’s, lingerie and outerwear are abundant in options for the shopper who has the patience to pick. What really sets this store apart is the selection of home goods. Entire rooms of cookware, electronics, music equipment and plates. A storeroom of furniture that is anywhere from vintage to modern with the slightest bit of wear. I have pretty much outfitted all my apartments with furniture I bought at this store. I am not lying when I say Salvation Army even sells kitchen sinks! The dressing rooms are tiny and the only thing between you and public indecency is a thin sheet. For a dime I think its better to hope it fits and deal with the loss if it doesn’t. Take advantage of the huge selection at this large location. Parking is meter only but it will probably be the most expensive part of your trip.
