Need a quiet oasis where you can meander through flights of great wine and nice people? Come here… Now! This place is weirdly located in an unassuming strip on west side of 5th Ave in Grandview but is worth the trek. They have well paired flights that swap out frequently along with complementary cheese and crackers. As a bonus for your beer swaggling(yep just made up that word) husbands, you’ll find a beer cooler with a decent selection and a humidor with ample selections of cigars. Also, there’s a sweet check in coupon for 20% off a flight– use it!

We love this wine shop turned tasting room! If you are nearby this is a must! The couple that runs it is so sweet and knowledgeable and prides themselves on offering good wine suggestions at all price points! Upon leaving we grabbed a 10 $ bottle to go based on their recommendation that was so good I’m going right back to grab more! The wine shop is open during the week but only does tastings thurs thru sat. You can buy a cheese plate if you end up there longer than you planned which happens to us all the time. Also they have beers and cocktails for anyone in the group not into wine.

A love affair is impending with Twisted Vine. Among the many things I want to become in my life, a patron of the wines is one of them. I had my eyes on the wine flight nights(Th-Sa) at twisted vine, where you receive 3 whites or reds for $ 8. Definitely a bargain, especially for the quality of wine. Additionally, the cellar is stocked with reasonably priced wine at Barefoot price, all the way up to the granddadies of expensive wine. If you have the chance to choose kroger wine or twisted vine, go local! ;) The associates are passionate and friendly, eager to elaborate upon the origin of the wines and what makes them special. They’re also willing to host parties and reserve a part of the room for your party, gratis, so long as you drink their wine. A number of local restaurants deliver food from local establishments. I like their flexibility. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised about this, but annually or sometimes biannually the owners of the store travel to wine country in CA and try out the new wines. Twisted vine is all about ecumenical wine based experiences and will never become stale with their constant influx and outflux of wines. Def worth a go. They also have a small parking lot!

Had to write my first review after stopping by this place. Me and my girlfriend stopped by on a Saturday night to get a bottle of wine, the staff was extremely helpful and knowledgable. We ended up staying and trying their flights that they have Thursday through Saturday from 5 – 9. They also stated they change them every week. It’s a tad small but very nice and comfortable. They have a nice bar area or a few tables with more comfortable seating. The prices were very reasonable and they even had a beer fridge in the back where you can try a bottle of something without having to buy a six pack. Will definitely be going back.

This is my absolute favorite date spot in Grandview. My husband and I love to go on Thursday night to enjoy a flight of wine and learn something new about wine. We are beginners surrounded by experts eager to share their knowledge and recommendations. My other favorite part of Twisted Vine is going in and asking, «can I have a bottle of wine for around $ 10 that is like a pinot grigio?» Every time I’m handed a bottle of wine that is unexpected and exceptional. I would never pick out these bottles on my own. It’s definitely worth a trip.

Sorry — I have to have food with my drink or I get loopy… this place tries to serve appetizers on Fridays for Happy Hour — they just don’t quite keep up with the crowd(and they don’t have a menu to order food from). Evil stares, and subtle hints don’t seem to work for the cheese and crackers refill queue — and an outright polite request for food refills was returned with service 15 minutes later after stopping to talk to the other staff members, slowly check someone else out, making a comment to me that was slightly disparaging(about the drink I had ordered, not knowing… I don’t go there every day), and then finally getting someone else to stock the cheese and crackers… my friends and I left at this point… wanted to have a little light hearted drink before dinner, not have to starve and work for snacks.

Just to add a correction to the already posted reviews. The Beers«ARE» able to be consumed there. Don’t know why the one review said they can’t. Not a Huge sellection. But a very good sellection. And like the wines, they rotate new beers on a regular basis. If you haven’t been in for a while. They Have done some more updating inside, and outside as well. New ceiling and lighting inside. And they have just finished a nice update on the outside with new, siding, paint. Hopefully there will be an outdoor patio added soon. They have been working with the City on this. And hopefully soon, there will be a wrap around patio that will give the Cigar smokers a place to smoke. Around the corner away from the front of course. If you haven’t been in for a while to see the updates, now’s the time.

Love evenings at the Vine. The staff here knows their stuff and are more than happy to point you in the direction of something great if you let them know what you like. As mentioned before their flights are inexpensive an usually have at least two wines of interest if not all three… All in all it’s a good place to relax with friends, learn about wine and possibly even take a few bottles home with you…

There are a lot of things that come with having a California license plate still attached to my car — among them: 1) The stigma that I am a terrible driver 2) The idea that I have several movie stars as neighbors 3) I am an incredible wine snob. While the first two are questionable, the third is absolutely right on. And while Giant Eagle and Kroger have very fine wine sections, there’s something about the a favorite bottle of wine that brings you back — especially in the holiday season. If you’ve driven down Fifth Avenue as a way to escape some of the traffic through Grandview Heights, you’ve passed The Twisted Vine. Its at a most inconspicuous place, nestled in between restaurants, a cleaners, and even a consignment shop nearby. Its a quiet store, seemingly oblivious to the traffic buzzing on the street nearby. However, walking inside could be considered the equivalent of walking straight into one of Santa Barbara’s finest tasting rooms. A rich smell fills the room when you walk in, as you are immediately surrounded by wines from all over the world. You’ll notice the wines sorted by region and color, but the center of your attention will be the wine bar in the middle of the room. Their specials and bottles are posted in front, and their selections never disappoint. The quality continues with quite a selection of cigars, as well as fine beers in back(the beers can’t be drank in store, and State and City law prohibit smoking in liquor establishments). While the décor sometimes leaves something to be desired(looking at wine bottles on all sides is a little intimidating at times), the staff knows their wines. Give them a hint to what you are looking for, and they’ll be sure to point you in the right direction. You can be more economic by shopping for wine online(yes, you can do that in this state), but for the friendly staff and clean decorum, and the immediate gratification of bringing home a tasty bottle of wine can’t be beat. If you’re looking for a escape from the city life, and a fun way to get away from the weather for just a couple hours at the time, I highly recommend The Twisted Vine!

This has got to be one of the most unique wine bars I have ever seen. This time when I say unique, I don’t mean artsy. Most wine bars have a bit of flair. I think it’s expected now. Twisted actually doesn’t. In fact my friends and I have mentioned before that maybe they could put in softer lights, paint the white walls, add some rugs, hang some art, basically anything to change what’s there. Why do we feel the need to make a change, I don’t know. What they have there is pretty special. Every Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings(until 9p) they have wine flights for $ 10. They have a red flight and a chilled or white flight, three glasses each. Seriously! THREE glasses of wine for TENDOLLARS. Is there anywhere else in the city who can beat that? If so, please let me know. They provide cheese and crackers too, how sweet. The owners are so flexible. You can bring in your own food. Order a pizza from Rotolo’s across the street or even bring in your leftover pot roast from dinner the night before. Anything goes, just don’t think you can bring in your mama’s bottle of wine and cozy up on their plush sofa. That obviously won’t fly.
