TJ Maxx

I have a hate-​love-​hate relationship with shopping. I very much dislike standing in lines to checkout as it tests my willpower to not throw additional items that will become dust-​gatherers in my humble abode at a later date.
For the longest time, you couldn’t pay me to set foot inside a TJ Maxx (TJM). The thought of products randomly thrown about as I scourged the shoe aisle for a cute size 10 sent shivers up my spin. Visions of women fighting over a marked down Coach purse while diving for final sale items held no appeal. Until, one day, I went to TJM with a friend, and ya’ll my life changed and I realized how wrong I’ve been all these years! (I blame Black Friday frenzies for my overactive shopping imagination).
Now, some TJMk’s can be… let’s say organizationally challenged. You might find a sock in the hair care section, and a hat near lingerie. For the most part, locations are extremely clean, well maintained, and heavily stocked with options (although I would argue the size 10 shoe selection still needs work).
The «hidden gem» for me is the food section. Yes, the food section! I“ve picked up so many tasty gourmet items that I’ve not been able to locate at other retail stores! Products ranging from savory herb grinders, organic seeds, dried fruit, teas, raw bars, protein shakes, popcorn — the list can go on and on.
The one component of many TJM’s that I’ve noticed as an opportunity is customer service. I’ve found it easier to consult Siri for help (and I have an Android phone) than to locate someone employed there for assistance. I can honestly say that’s never been the case for me at this location. While the employees aren’t walking up and down the aisles asking if assistance is needed, I’ve never had trouble finding someone to help me, and they’re always nice.

It’s not the neatest place but you can find some great deals here. Need jewelry? Got it. Need watches? Got it? Need clothes? Got it. Need housewares? Got it. Need name brand? Well it’s not the latest and greatest but they got it.

What’s better than shopping… getting great clothes at a great price! Also, they have housewares, shoes, and ‘exotic’ foods… much of which is organic.
They have fun things for the dogs as well ;-)
