Recently moved to Homestead and wanted to try the local deli which was recommended. Overall, a poor experience. Sadly, the food was pretty good, but there are issues. We were 1 of 2 tables in the place, so almost empty. Service was slow, but friendly. There seemed to be 2 people working in the deli. The person making our sandwiches was on the phone and later spend an inordinate amount of time greeting a largish group which came in. We waited a good half hour for a sandwich and salad. They were very good and a little expensive. I did not appreciate battling flies while eating. Had to keep them from landing in my salad and on my head. I don’t know how the staff didn’t see me waving off flies during my meal. They are new owners so, I guess they need a little time to get the service right. I’ll probably be back at least once more to try them out.

It’s no longer Toot’s for starters. I was in the area with my parents and we needed a quick lunch as I had to take them to a rushed medical appointment and had little time to spare so I decided on this place. The woman at the counter could not have been more friendly or attentive but the man making my sandwiches took a catering phone call so for the better part of 20 minutes the initial attempts of my sandwiches were left on the counter unattended and left me staring at them as my agitation grew. Deal with the customer in front of you and not one on the phone. The guy apologized afterwards but the delay should not have happened for that long. Summary– one hoagie on a roll and one as a wrap, bottle of coke and a bottle of water with a grand total of $ 21 plus change. Hefty sandwiches at a hefty price that will make me think of going there twice. The rhyme was unintentional.

Such a good Italian hoagie. Fresh soft bread and tasty cold cuts. But you must try the disco fries. They were the best I ever had and I’m from Jersey.

We have been here a few times. Every time it seems that they are super busy and running around crazy from a lack of organization. Today, it was the worst we’ve experienced. It took over an hour for our sandwiches. We were ahead of people that were coming in and they were sent with their sandwiches and salads before we even got ours. They walked in fifteen minutes after us and placed their orders. The sandwiches were not even that great today like they have been in the past. We were very disappointed.

This restaurant used to be Toot’s Deli. It was bought out. Its now the Columbus Café & Grille. This is my first visit, small world! I know the new owner!(Jorge). He has done a really good job tidying up the place! Breakfast is also served here too! This restaurant is family run. I ordered the Chicken cheesteak, I added pepperoni to my order. My sandwich was pretty good! The staff is very friendly and courteous here too! You get the feeling of being welcome and appreciated! Businesses like this make you want to patronize them! If you stop in for lunch, you can eat in the restaurant, there are a few booths and there are high chairs at the counter. You can pay with cash/credit or debit. There is a lunch crowd, but the wait isnt bad.

Great local sandwich stop off Exit 52 on HWY295. Conveniently located near ice cream, cupcakes and coffee, Toot’s is the go to local spot for a hot or cold sandwich. Having stopped in on numerous occasions, I can attest that service is top shelf. They are both extremely friendly and attentive. Service can be a bit slow at times but they’ll make up for it with some great eats and great service. The inside has a bar type stand that seats about 5 and four four-top tables. There’s plenty of room so it doesn’t feel cramped. The sandwiches are really good; far too big but good, especially if you’re thinking about sharing. I highly recommend sharing one of their specialty sandwiches because the portion sizes are huge. Overall, this is a very clean and welcoming sandwich shop that offers some great(huge) sandwiches.

Tried this place again for lunch and ordered a BLT. How do you mess up a BLT? BLT had paper that you cook bacon on IN sandwich! Told the guy behind the counter and all he said was, «Oh yah sorry that’s the paper we cook bacon on.» This guy appears miserable anyhow. Who wants to go eat lunch where the people who serve it to you seem so miserable. I had to call back to actually get someone to offer my money back. Gross. I won’t go there again. If you want to grab a delicious sandwich or deli item go to Jacksonville Deli(1786 Jacksonville Jobstown Rd.) It’s 2 miles from Toot’s. They offer much better sandwiches and better prices. Italian hoagie and potato salad were awesome.

Traveling around with my friend Kevin for his work, we decided to pull over for a quick bathroom break and a bite. Plus, Kev saw the sign for Boars Head meat and was looking for their tavern ham. Apparently it is hard to come by in these parts. Toots is set up like your normal deli. A customer could either come in and place an order to go or sit at their two choices, counter or table seating. Both options have a nice view of the flat screen TV. We arrived during lunch time but I was happy to find out that they still served their breakfast sandwiches. I ordered your basic egg, cheese, and bacon sandwich on an English muffin, just enough to get me through the rest of the day. Kev, who originally wanted the tavern ham, was sadly disappointed because they didn’t have it. So he went with a Meatball sub instead. The food was basic and tasted just that way. I’m not saying that it was bad, far from it. The food tasted good and it served the job of filling my stomach. It was just missing that flair to get noticed. My biggest thing was that it was missing the deli board, the one that has their specials and what meat, cheese, and salad they are offering. I prefer a deli that has different combos of meats and cheeses. This adds flair to the place and gives guests something to remember. Like I said, the food is fine and the service was nice, so stop on by and check it out. It’s worth a first-time try. Plus it s fat kid tested and fat kid approved. Stay peckish my friends.
