The Lane Ave. branch of the UA library is my favorite within for a couple of reasons– 1. I can walk to it – nothing beats convenience. 2. My kids love the storytimes at this branch(and the librarians). 3. Size – This branch is much smaller than the main library at Tremont, but feels more friendly and homey because of it. Plus, if you need a book from the UA library system it can be sent to whatever branch is convenient for you so the lack of local storage isn’t that big of deal.

I am writing a review for a public library? Yep, that is right! And I am proud of it! This place has it all(well at least for a procrastinating college student like myself). There are two things I do whenever I go here, load up on books/movies/CDs and also hang out in the park. They have a great, large selection of current movies, books, and CDs and if they don’t have it at their location on Lane Ave. you can request it from one of their branches and they can ship it over to that library in a matter of days! The library also hosts book clubs, broken down by age groups and reading preferences. I know they host a multitude of events, but I have never been able to attend one due to the fact that the ages limit is usually set at 12. I mean do they not understand that I like ice cream and tie-dye shirts as much as the person who is in the 4th grade and still picks their nose? Oh well, enough venting and onto the good part. Once you walk outside the library and past the water bowl(that they keep for their patron’s pooches) you have arrived at the park. There is a 1.15 mile loop around the park and it is complete with what seems like thousands of baseball diamonds, tennis courts, basketball courts, soccer fields, and a restroom(which is actually kept in decent shape). So come here to check out new movies and books, take a jog, then plop in the grass(or bench for those of us who are more dignified) and start reading!
