5⁄5 on the Ham and cheese sandwich. Definitely recommend! People around even asked what it was because it looked so good. The interior is also really cute.

Great coffee, great vibe. Love the brick walls and light that comes in the front through the glass. Your not in a «curated» experience, you won’t be messaged or see their new menu item. You’ll see their Toper coffee roaster. Great care and preparation of drinks and it has a great cross mix of people who stop in there.

One of my favorite coffee shops in the city! Been here a couple times and the coffee is always on point. They roast everything in house so it’s always fresh. What I loved about this place is they brew your iced coffee to order which I’ve never actually seen before. Not a whole lot of seats to chill so prob not the best place to do work. But if you’re in the area definitely recommend stopping by! Oh and they have a small parking lot right next to the shop!

I love stopping here on my days off! The weekend can get crowded but worth it! Everyone that works here is always really nice and efficient. They have about 7 – 9 different coffees you can choose from. I love the pour over option, I like trying a new one everyday. The turkey breakfast sandwich is pretty tasty. Also served all day! Prices are better than the average coffee shop downtown which is nice.

My first time being here. It’s a Sunday afternoon and the place is almost empty, which is a crime! I got a great cup of hand pour coffee for just $ 2! The coffee is freshly roasted in the house and it tastes amazing. I’ll start coming here more often.

Since I have a drink named after me, and everyone there knows how to make it, I have to give Upper Cup TENSTARS. Can I do that??? It’s called the Amy-Latte. It’s half soy/half whole milk and it is the perfect combination of nutty & foamy. Sometimes my husband also gets the Amy-Latte so apparently other people can order it, too. ;-) I drink Upper Cup coffee EVERYDAY. WITHOUTFAIL. The Honduras Medium is a chocolatey coffee that we buy in the whole bean and grind at home. Delicious & perfect every time! Six days a week, we stop at Upper Cup on our way to work and fill up our thermoses for $ 1.25 each. It’s kind of ridiculous because it’s probably like 18 – 20 oz per thermos, yet that is the BYOC refill price. So I encourage you to BRINGYOUROWNCUP! Also, because I believe that is the correct thing to do for our environment. The drip machine was not working today, and the young lady made us americanos instead. I have to say: very impressed with this substitution! Wired all day!!! LOL Also, if you every need an airpot filled, Upper Cup does that and for like $ 12. Give them a little notice, but they will happily fill an entire airpot. Lots of parking, friendly atmosphere, settle in or get it to go, this is a very easy decision: Go to Upper Cup!

Really nice little coffee shop in Columbus. We were headed to a meeting for work which required something to keep me awake. Thankfully, the Upper Cup was there to save me. I had a tasty Café Au Lait and it allowed me to pretend to listen to the meeting for all two hours! Thanks Upper Cup!

Stopped by for a cup of coffee since I was in the neighborhood while visiting my sis in Columbus. Great laid back atmosphere where they have room to work and enjoy your favorite coffee beverage. Prices were very reasonable and the staff were polite and helpful. I love that they roast their own coffee and also source beans from sustainable sources. Would definitely recommend this place to everyone!

TL;DR: Super good, super cheap, nice staff. Good black coffee. It’s so nice to find a café that does pour over, good espresso, and roasts their own coffee. And the best part is their prices are extra cheap for coffee this good. Only $ 2 for a pour-over? I don’t think I’ve seen pricing like that anywhere else and it was GOOD coffee. I had their Peru(black) on pourover($ 2) and then ordered a cortado($ 3, wasn’t on the menu) and had an almond cake($ 2.50). It was all delicious. Café has a really nice vibe and is a comfy place to sit and do some work for a while or chit-chat with friends. Street & parking lot parking available.

Upper Cup is in my old neighborhood. It’s really good & extremely affordable. The baristas are nice, but the service is a little slow. The system they have seems a little inefficient, so I only stop in when I’m going to use their wifi or I’m not in a hurry. Since it’s the only coffee shop in the neighborhood, it gets a lot of traffic. They roast their own beans and source their coffee consciously and sustainably, so you can feel secure in the cup your purchasing doesn’t come at the cost of oppression. Their lattes are pretty good. They’re regular coffee is great and usually doesn’t cost more than a cup you’d get at the gas station. Such a great deal. They also have sandwiches and muffins for sale. The sandwiches are standard and do the job, but nothing special. I really like the muffins they carry. Another nice feature is that they have a parking lot and bike racks so there’s almost always a spot for your car or bike. Nice laid back local atmosphere, usually great music playing, good baristas, a bit slow service, very affordable as far as single pour coffee goes, and really good coffee… a place I will go out of my way to support and enjoy!

Found this place on Google & confirmed my visit via Unilocal.Just hopped off a plane at the airport and decided to surpass the standard terminal brews for a Columbus authentic. Definitely an outstanding cup of coffee with great service. I went with a pour over and chose the window seat.

Of the coffeehouses on my list for getting work done at, this is one of the farthest from home and yet I love to make the trip. I know I will always find a friendly vibe, a quiet seat, and a really good grilled PB&J. I’m not always able to find parking in the lot alongside the building, but there is plenty of non-time-restricted parking on the side streets if the two-hour limit(I think it is, going by memory) on Parsons isn’t long enough for you. Oddly, I see that Bryant and a couple of other reviewers liked Upper Cup but didn’t think of it as a place to sit a few hours and work, but I’ve never felt out of place doing so, and there are usually a couple of other laptops open. A number of other reviewers do give it a thumbs-up for a work space. It’s true that there aren’t a bajillion outlets, but the ones they have are within cord-length distance of the tables. And I like the little barrels. A couple of times when my PB&J came out to me(I nearly always get this PB&J!), the employee pulled a barrel over for me because my work was kind of monopolizing the table. I’ve never sat at the counters by the windows because it’s usually too sunny when I first get there and because proximity to outlets makes me feel secure, but that is prime people-watching real estate right there.

As a former barista, I am always on the lookout for local coffee shops that roast on premises and make excellent coffee. This is one such place. Being a five minute walk from my apartment, i find it hard to resist coming to Upper Cup every day. The owners are kind and SUPER talented, and the baristas all have their own unique charms. The first few times, the seemingly flippant attitude from the barista put me off, but the coffee kept me coming back. Their espresso is perfect – not too acidic, not burned to a crisp, and delicious over ice(though i wish they would pull the shots right into my cup to preserve the crema). My advice: become a regular, bring treats, and relish the local art, local people, and off-the-cuff vibe of this place over a cup of delicious coffee.

I made a quick stop to grab some coffee before getting my haircut at Old Familiar Barbershop which is on the same block as this coffee shop. It was around 1:30pm and the shop was pretty slow. I’m sure that if you visit this shop regularly and get to know the employees there you might feel more comfortable and welcome. I entered and this shop made me think of the coffee shop cliches that most people used to formulate in their minds — tatted baristas, dreads, reggae playing on the radio, and the employees seemed somewhat aloof. I ordered something simple, a coffee over ice. While I prefer a coffee that is brewed cold I’ve had plenty of cold coffees that still taste great. This iced coffee tasted really watered down and I wasn’t impressed with the quality of the coffee. I will definitely give this shop another try whenever I head that way to visit the barbershop but the shop made an quick impression very quickly and it wasn’t a place I would go out of my way to visit.

One of the many hidden gems in Columbus, Uppercup is a great spot for your caffeine fix. There is a parking lot and street parking so you don’t have to worry about meters. The interior is uniquely designed, coffee barrels here, nice leather couch there and wooden tables by the windows. A friend and I arrived to try the place out. We got the iced chai and egg sandwiches with turkey. It was delicious, the drink had a nice mix of chai and milk. One of the best iced chais in the city, and I’m talking really good iced chais which is hard to find. Stop by, relax and enjoy the scene!

This review is following my first visit to Upper Cup. In fact, I’m sitting here by the window writing this. Today is a stereotypical overcast Ohio winter day, and I really had trouble shaking off the blanket of grogginess. I decided to walk to Upper Cup from my house in King-Lincoln; it took about 10 minutes. It was a great decision. I can handle ten minutes of brisk winds and a light drizzle for a hot cup of coffee. I ordered a latte and a muffin, and both are superior quality. That’s the first thing(of many) that Upper Cup gets right. The interior is nice and open, which lets in a lot of natural light. If you sit in the back of the shop and have a short memory(like me), you’d almost forget that it’s so dreary today. The«vibe» is very relaxed and casual. Excellent. I don’t need pep and enthusiasm before I’m fully awake. The location is great, and so is the service. With some return visits, I could see myself bumping my review up to five stars. The product is certainly there. But for now, Upper Cup gets a solid four.

When I go for good cup of coffee in the mornings, I always want to have a good breakfast as well. And this is one of a few places that serve good coffee and good variety of sandwiches. I’d say the coffee was good and the sandwich is decent. I had the ham with habanero The barista seems knowledgeable and friendly and the girl that served our order was very nice too. The place was comfortably spacious although the seating and tables are few and small button they have couch if you want to relax with friends while enjoying coffee. I cannot believe that I have not been here before when my wife used to work close by.

I’ve sampled Upper Cup Coffee at the North Market Coffee Roast the last two years, but I’ve never had occasion to visit until this week. I took my kids to the Columbus Museum of Art(surprisingly fun with young kids) and found myself near the Near East Side on the wrong side of a caffeine crash. Out came my handy Unilocal app and I realized I was a quarter mile from Upper Cup! The store space is pretty cozy and the store itself is located on what appears to be an up and coming/gentrifying street with several newer looking shops. About a quarter of the floor space is given over to beans for roasting and a really impressive looking roasting set up, which my kids were particularly interested in. Regarding the coffee, I went basic and got a mocha with a calorie splurge of whole milk. Fantastic stuff. There are lots of other options including iced coffee and the now ubiquitous pour over. Should I ever be back on this side of town, I know exactly where I’m going for my coffee.
