Walgreens

This is probably our go-​to convenience store and, generally speaking, it is awesome!
In particular, I’m going to let you in on a little secret. They have a surprisingly awesome beer selection. Last month, I was able to get the Angry Orchard Sinnful Cider, which I’m pretty sure isn’t even in season. Today, we went to find a particular beer that just came out: the Curious Traveler Shandy. They had it, not only in a 6-​pack, but also in cases! We also got a limited release Angry Orchard Elderberry, which should be great!
Overall, this Walgreen’s almost always meets our needs. My only complaint, and I mean only, is that their rewards card is nowhere near as great as CVS’. I FINALLY racked up some points that I could redeem for rewards and couldn’t redeem them because my zip code was different than what it was when I registered my card. I talked to customer service, resolved it, and went back; and now I don’t have rewards? Strange. That aside, this Walgreen’s has it going on!
Have been going here several times a month, and I don’t see that slowing anytime soon!

I don’t stop into Walgreen’s too often, but I was looking for a specific protein powder which they stock. I picked out the powder and saw I could save a few bucks if I had their loyalty card. I proceeded to the checkout and told the cashier (Max) that I was interested in getting the loyalty card and asked if I could apply it to today’s purchase to get the discount. He said yes, and he would be glad to help me with applying for the card. Max was friendly and accommodating and I was in and out of the store quickly.
The loyalty card has good deals, both in the store and online.
The store itself is very clean, organized, and well lit.

I make quick stops to and from work. Compared to others it’s about the same in all ways but I will say the employees are always friendly. If I ever buy alcohol (very limited wine and beer) many times the young cashier will need to call the manager.
Speaking of, they now carry all three of the New Belgium 20oz beers. Their groceries are expensive, yet well stocked, and if you can wait then do so. I also noticed this morning that they carry Grippos, the BBQ chips from Cincinnati. I think this is what got them their fourth star.
Ample parking that’s easy getting in but a little tricky getting out. Drive thru pharmacy has plenty of room as well.

The staff was reasonably helpful, directing me toward the item I needed. Then they joked with me a little too. Otherwise, standard experience. May be of note that the store seems a bit larger than your average Walgreens.

A star rating for a place like Wallgreens is basically useless… I’m sure on a scale of 1 – 5, you know what to expect. However, I’m writing this review because I had a really good experience here, and I want to let you in on a little secret!
But first: I usually prefer CVS over Wallgreens (shelves seem less crammed at CVS, less junk), but I hit up this location because I was on my way to hop on 315. It is really good for that.
Anyway, I had a longer-​than-​usual list of sundries. About 5 minutes after arriving, The woman by the register near the makeup told me to make sure to check out at her register. I told her I’d be shopping for awhile, and she told me again to make sure I came by her register. This register is not with the others, and it is my understanding that it is not always open. I took her up on her invitation to check out there, and I had a ton of items from all over the store.
This angel of a woman brought out a giant file folder from under her counter, and searched for coupons she had clipped and filed for almost all of my items. She seemed to know where they all would be… This is clearly a labor of love for her and she enjoys interacting with the customers and saving us money. It took a little longer, so if you’re under time constraints, you may not want to engage. She saved me over $ 7 with these coupons! She clearly didn’t have to do it… What a sweetheart.

The staff here is always friendly with me. The prices however are expensive and there is a kroger right down the street. They have a take care clinic so if you need a flu shot, etc. it is more convenient than making an appointment. Also drive through pharmacy is available and the wait times are not too bad.
