This is a pretty solid sub joint. I love trying new things on the menu, but I almost always get the same thing at sub/​sandwich shops. So, I can only vouch for the chicken salad sandwich and spicy chicken subs here. Both are really good, but I definitely favor the chicken salad over the spicy. It comes as an open/​faced sub with lettuce and tomatoes and the chicken is tender and delish.
I actually really go to grinders for their cheddar mac! I absolutely love this stuff. But the last time I ate here, the cheddar mac was way too creamy and for once in my life I couldn’t finish it. And I’m usually salivating for more. Hopefully next time it won’t be so creamy.

The WG Grinders here on Lazelle Road was closed for well over a year after suffering a major fire. While they were closed, I tried another Grinders location was disappointed. It was not as good, as clean or as friendly as I remembered the Lazelle location to have been. So, when the Lazelle Road location reopened I wasn’t in a big hurry to go back in. Well, curiosity finally got the best of me and I went back to the renovated Lazelle Road location. I’m sorry I waited so long. The sandwiches were every bit as good as I remembered, the store was spotless and the counter help was very professional, personable and extremely efficient. There were 4 of us in the party the 1st time I went back and 2 of us the 2nd time and we had great experiences both times. And we tried 4 different varieties of sandwiches and side. My favorite is still the Italian classic with a side Greek salad (covers 2 nationalities).
The Lazelle Road location is definitely worth a visit.

This place is yet another generic submarine sandwich resturant, attempting to be «gourmet» — see Penn Station, Jimmy John’s, Quiznos, etc.
I went here on my lunch break. It took over 30 minutes to get out with 1 to-​go order of an italian style sub. They were mindlessly fufilling an extremely large corproate delivery order and wouldn’t even work on anyone’s subs in line for 10 minutes and kept just looking up and apologizing.
I’ll never go back to this place — awful, awful service and generic taste.

This place is always good. I really like the baked chicken grinder and usually ask for a side of the dressing they put on it to dip parts of my bread in mmmmm.

WG Grinders is my favorite Sandwich of ANY KIND place, I’d prefer a good sub over a burger any day. And I usually don’t like toasted subs but they’ve really got the right idea at Grinders, not too crunchy, not too soft! The Classic Italian is a must for any 1st timer. It’s tangy, it’s cheesy, it’s what I think an Italian should be! Their other marinara based subs are really great too! BUUUT… their salads are the whip! I can’t leave without a side of Greek Salad! Mmm! SO much better than all the other huge chain restaurants!

I think the times have passed WG by. I used to go there all the time but then they closed the store near my home and the one near by and this one was the only one within a reasonable drive. So for old times sake I drove up here today and orded my old standby (a Classic Italian) and it wasn’t nearly as good as I remembered it. I guess I’ll stick with Jersey Mike’s.

Oh how I miss WG Grinders. Since this chain opened up, I would come here at least once a month to get a veggie grinder. Now that I live in Chicago, I’ve yet to come across something equally as yummy as Grinders (you’d think that wouldn’t be a problem in this city). Needless to say I eat here any time I come to town, sometimes twice in my visits.

Stopped in for lunch today. I got the 10″ Chicken Cordon Bleu, which is just as good as I remembered from my days on campus at OSU. The staff was friendly, the place was clean, and I was in and out in 15 minutes. Just as quick as a fast food place, but much healthier. Great place.
