Whence might be the BEST thing I have ever paid for. They are the nicest & most accommodating people. They get to your house so quickly & even brought my pup a special treat. I wish I could give them 100 stars because I would. I highly recommend them. Sometimes, especially this time of year, you just want delivery! I love whence!!!

Whence actually does a whole lot more than deliver donuts. I’ll do my darndest to paint the picture for you. Their tagline is, «almost anything, almost now.» It’s an app that lets you get things delivered within the Columbus metro. They have already established partnerships with some local businesses, but there’s an in-​app concierge that will help try to get you *anything* delivered. We’re talking Christmas trees, people!
Some of the partnerships they have include: Native, Mission, a Colorado-​based market in Clintonville which shall go unnamed, The Little Donut Shop, Tigertree, and many, many more.
IMO, there are two main reasons to use Whence:
1. You can be an introvert/​lazy/​Bryant and have just about anything delivered to your door. I can think of hundreds of ways to increase my laziness. I may never leave my house again.
2. You can take gifting to the next level and surprise the people you love with amazing local treats.
I’ve been the giver AND the receiver of a Whence delivery, and let me tell you — I like it from both ends. As the recipient, I was completely delighted. This guy in a black town car showed up at my door with a smile, a box of donuts, and a container of coffee. I felt so special and loved. Right then, I understood the magic of having a gift delivered, and I just knew I had to pass on that feeling to somebody else. So later that day, I sent a similar order to The Mister at his office in Polaris, and he agreed how special it feels to receive a gift delivery.
So how does Whence work?
1. Download the mobile app.
2. Sign up for a monthly membership. There’s a $ 5/​month option and a $ 10/​month option. If you have the first option, you get $ 5 off each delivery. And if you have the second option, you get $ 10 off each delivery. In other words, a $ 20 delivery fee will actually cost you either $ 15 or $ 10.
3. Go in the app and shop around. If you don’t see what you want, ask the in-​app concierge if she can hook you up with whatever you’re wanting.
4. Place your order. If it’s during their working hours, your order will be delivered in about 90 minutes or less.
5. Everything is automatically paid through the credit card you put on file in the app.
When I tell most people about the magical donuts that appeared at my door, they ask if it’s expensive. I think it’s totally reasonably priced. Am I going to have everything delivered? No. But occasionally I will gladly pay $ 10-​$ 15 to have something delivered versus the hassle of showering and putting on clothes.
And to pay $ 10-​$ 15 to have the best donuts and coffee delivered to my boo at Polaris? There’s no amount of money I can put on saving myself that awful drive up 71… and he was the hero throwing the most delicious impromptu office party.
I am such a fan of this innovative service, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for them. I know all the kinks aren’t worked out just yet, but to be so new — it’s already an amazing experience. They did sign my handwritten card «Bryan,» which Keith and I thought was hysterical. Not sure what that has to do with my review, but there you go.
TL;DR: Whence is a local delivery service that’ll bring you «almost anything, almost now.» They have a beautiful mobile app that makes delivery and gifting easy and affordable.
