I’ve always loved WOB at Easton and front street, but was disappointed with the campus location. When you walk in, you seat yourself. This translated to about 15 – 20 minutes passing by before anyone acknowledged us. We grabbed menus off a dirty table, and our table itself was never cleaned off. The only reason someone came over to us was due to my husband tracking someone down. The man that took care of us told us he was«really busy» and would try to transfer us to someone else. I totally understand that he was slammed, we saw how busy he was! That seems to be a management issue to me. We ordered everything at once not wanting to wait any longer. Beer and food was good! We had the pretzel(don’t pay the extra 2.50 for beer cheese, not worth it!), Tots, shrimp tacos, and chipotle bbq flatbread. The food was good, but we were never checked on throughout the meal. We were grateful for the food runner for taking care of us(bringing plates, napkins, and water). Overall I was excited about the new location but very disappointed in the service, maybe they are just working some kinks out? Go to Easton if you want to get your fix!

I can’t say enough about this staff. Most of them are dead on for beer knowledge. Talk to another bartender if yours seems lost. You have to start somewhere, right? Much better than Easton. Come here if you want to explore craft beer. This is when you start choosing quality over quantity. Bartenders will listen to what you like and then help you explore your palette. The staff here is excited to help you on your path of beer discovery. It doesn’t hurt that the food is pretty damn good. My regular stop.

We just came in to this«restaurant» with a party of 5 — no one was near the hostess stand, and there was no sign stating to seat yourself or to wait. We stood there for about two minutes before someone finally told us to sit wherever we pleased. We took a seat at a large table right in front of the bar. We helped ourselves to the beer & food menus since no one seemed interested in bringing them over to us. Let me also add that this place was nowhere near busy. There were at least 5 people behind the bar, meandering slowly about, not making eye contact with us. I noticed two servers going to other tables around us, but no one ever bothered to greet us, let alone ask us what we’d like to eat or drink. This went on for… Fifteen. Minutes. We timed it. 15 minutes with not one person acknowledging our presence. They milled around us, choosing which other tables they would pay attention to. I don’t know why this happened. Whatever the reason, this was completely unacceptable and we left. There is no reason I would ever consider spending my money at this restaurant.

I’ve tried this place twice since it has opened. The first time I ate there it was okay. I would say that their food is fairly standard fare including hamburgers, wings, fries, sandwiches. What got me interested in trying them again was their weekend brunch options. The following week I gave them a go for Sunday Brunch and had chicken and waffles; my first choice the pretzel with beer cheese was sold out. The order came out in decent time and the service was fine, but the meal itself was bland and the waffles were soggy underneath. Needless to say that hurt the entire experience. At the end of the day, I wish I had slept in and had cereal instead.

This looks like it could be a fun place for drinks, but the service is pretty much terrible. Our server was inattentive and made little effort to actually do his job. My girlfriend waited on her drink for almost an hour, and when he finally did pop his face up in our area, we asked where it was and he just calmly said, «it wasn’t tapped.» Dude, really? Why didn’t you come over to tell us and offer something else? And why were you hiding and avoiding us like the plague? This place clearly needs to do a better job at training its employees.

I made it in with a group of 6 on the Friday after Thanksgiving when campus was closed down. It was around 3:30 and the place was almost entirely empty, which was nice for us. We didn’t see a hostess when we came in, so we found one of their many tables well equipped to hold a larger group and took a seat. The place is a decent size, and they have a lot of seating between high top tables, booths, a lounge area, and a large bar. There isn’t anywhere inside that you are going to sit and not have a decent view of at least a couple TVs. They also have a large patio area that would be nice during the summer, and the walls separating the outside and inside are almost all big garage doors so it looks like the place can really open up when they have nice weather. We were given a beer menu and a food menu, along with a short list of their happy hour specials which we happened to be there for. For a place called World of Beer, their beer list was a little on the disappointing side. They had around 50 beers on their menu, which is a decent amount for a craft beer bar, but their selection of things that were really unique was lacking and they didn’t have a lot of local stuff either. Any other regular bar and it would have been good, but I expected a little more when I read the name. They also had what looked like a big selection of bottles, but either they didn’t have a menu for that or we didn’t get one. The beers are broken down into categories according to the style, and there were between 3 – 6 choices for each category. It was certainly a place where you could find something that everybody likes. It seemed like some of prices were a little on the high side, even for craft stuff. While the majority of prices weren’t too bad, there was certainly nothing that stood out as a better than what you would find at any other bar serving good beer. I think just about everything on there was $ 5.50+. They do serve their beers in different size/styles of glasses depending on the beer, but they tell you that on the menu so you know what you are paying for. My complaint about the beer menu is that they don’t have a system to mark out when the beers aren’t available anymore. I don’t know how often they update their menu, but the first beer I ordered from the menu wasn’t actually available anymore. The only food we ordered was a giant pretzel to split between the table, and it was really good and came out of the kitchen very quickly. It was served with mustard and some cheese dip, and was a nice option for something to munch on while having some beers. It looked like they had a few other good appetizer options for things to get to share with a whole table, and their entrée selections sounded tasty. It goes without saying that you can definitely catch all of the Buckeye games here, and they had some other games on along with the typical ESPN talking-head sports shows when we visited. There was a sign saying that they had live music, so keep an eye on their schedule for that. Unfortunately, their website is garbage, at least at the time I am writing this, so good luck finding their menu or schedule or anything useful on there. The music playing in the background was all over the place when I was here. It started off with about a half hour of punk rock, and then switched to country western, so I don’t know if they really have a theme for that. Their $ 3 beer on special was a really good local red, but I can’t remember the name. It sounded like they always have a $ 3 local beer of the month, and then they had some $ 4 select options for their happy hour, but those weren’t anything too special. I like to drink local, but their options for that were pretty slim pickings. Our server was pretty good, keeping our glasses full and making sure we had everything we needed. I give this place a 4 star rating based on the bar itself and the service. It probably gets 2 stars from me for the prices, and 3 for the selection(slightly biased because they called it «World of Beer»). I’d say it would be a 3.5 star rating overall if I had the option, but I’m rounding down comparing it to some of the other large craft beer places I have been to that I like more. It’s a place I would stop at again if I was looking for something around this area that was a little less of a college bar atmosphere and had some good beer options, but I would go out of my way to head up to a few places in Short North before stopping here if that was an option.

Fantastic! The hubby and I found ourselves lost in the middle of Columbus at 1am and everyone was super nice and let us charge our phones. Sarah was delighted to be our server and frequently checked on us as we were charging our phones for the long journey back to Fort Wayne. We only had a small sample of their food, just a pretzel appetizer, but what we had was great and fit well with the modern bar/pub beer, sports and snackery environment. Sarah kept us company with great conversation until the moment we had to leave – just before 3 a.m. World of Beer was an unexpected, but highly recommendable turn of events in our night! Thanks, Sarah! You rock!

While this place has a great selection of beers, almost everything is waaaaay overpriced. If you happen to have to be around the gateway area and want a quick beer, go for it. But there are so many other places a short walk away that will also offer a huge selection of beers and awesome happy hour specials. Also, please do not get that loyalty club membership… you’re paying 15 bucks to maaaaaybe get 25% beers on certain days of the week. There are plenty other places that offer half off drafts from 4−8pm weekdays… free of charge.

Came here after a football game and magically found a table immediately, I believe it’s seat yourself. Got a menu and ordered the buffalo wings with both bleu cheese and ranch on the side(which confused our waitress immensely that we would want two dipping sauces…)and tavern fries. It was a long wait which made sense it was very busy but they kept our water glasses full. The waitress brought out our wings, forgot to order our fries but brought some out quickly. The wings were crisp, good texture and well cooked, but barely any buffalo flavor. We weren’t sure if they were even buffalo wings. And the bleu cheese was overly pungent the ranch tasted a bit peculiar was well. Needless to say, I wouldn’t order the wings again. And the fries were steak fries with some seasoning on them, kind of like red robin. Not bad but not worth writing about. They had a huge scale jenga game there, which when it falls down is loud and blocks go all over the restaurant, it even hit one woman in the head as it fell. So looks fun but be careful. Maybe avoid sitting next to it. The bathrooms were lovely but I couldn’t get the motion activated sink to work. Sub par food, nice facilities, reasonably good service but I still wouldn’t come back.

Great addition to the campus area bar scene, but to keep a steady student clientele, they will need to really push the $ 3 and $ 4 specials. I still prefer the larger downtown location, but this open fronted/patio/big window long bar is nice and roomy, too. There is in house food here(unlike the downtown location that lets you order in with a select list of preferred vendors or anyone else who agrees to deliver), and it is decent bar food. The giant pretzel on the hanger with cheese and mustard dips is a favorite. The biggest problem with this place, for college students especially, is the price. With a boatload of great brews, there are a lot of choices, but the average price is probably $ 6 bucks. That plus tip is too rich for my blood, and I have a full time job. The biggest plus about this place(aside from millions of beers) is the staff. This is one of the friendliest places I have ever been. They seem to know there is a lot of competition nearby and are doing their best to make you want to come back. It works. Go in, shop the deals, and expand your brewed horizons. But save some loose change for the campus areas dive bars. As Mr. Burns said on the Simpsons, «Life’s not all hams and plaques.»

Football Sundays are my thing! I love football and the more football coming at my face the better! World of Beer did just that for me. They have a great patio space so we were able to enjoy the beautiful weather yesterday and watch football at the same time. Plenty of tvs for your viewing pleasure and the staff is accommodating to get the tv on the game you want to see. Speaking of the staff… very attentive staff that made sure to check on you and that your drinks were filled, etc. and to check that you are enjoying your food. Speaking of food… I wasn’t starving but I did try their meatball app and tater tots. The meatball app was 4 small meatballs and a little side salad. The meatballs had a very nice flavor to them and the tots were solid. I’m pretty sure I found my new football Sunday home! The End.

Get the Beermosas, but do not eat Brunch here. PROS: — awesome patio and interior layout — extensive draft list — personable bartenders — Bourbon Syrup & Beermosas CONS: — waffles are as dry as cardboard(chicken does not make up for that) — 3 Cheese sandwich is bland. Since it is a blue cheese focus, definitely get Buffalo sauce on the side. — Prices are high: $ 8-$ 15/each Overall, I couldn’t believe how angry and disappointed I was with the waffles. I mentioned it during the visit but I ate all of the food so I want about to stir up anything. For future food excursions, I’ll make sure not to. I won’t be back unless I’m on campus and need a beer.

This place just opened and I’ve already been a couple of times. The beer selection is excellent: they have many of my favorites and tons of things I’ve never tried. The service is excellent: it is prompt and polite. The servers seem genuinely interested in making sure you have what you need. The first time I was there, they brought us the group two beers that we ordered a second time by accident and let us have them free! The happy hour is excellent: many of the draft beers are $ 3-$ 4 and appetizers are $ 5. They have a great patio where you can sit and hang out or play corn hole. It’s a great place to go when the weather is nice. I’m sure the indoors is great too and I look forward to experiencing it.

First impression-wow! They have a full food menu. Came for Buckeye football, so it was very crowded, but a fun place to watch the game nonetheless. The beer selection is, duh, off the charts. The service was a bit on the slow side and the food came out in the wrong order(entrees and then the appetizer just behind them) but no major issues or complaints here. It was a fun, friendly a atmosphere and a great experience overall. I just hope that they can sustain themselves on campus when it’s no longer football season… A bit pricey for campus and I know the rent there is not cheap. Overall, great job! I will probably make my way back around. And, go Bucks!

World of Beer is a pretty nice establishment. I went with a group of friends a few days ago, and we had a lot of fun. I will say though that I wish the seating was different. The stools and tall tables are not really the preference of anybody that I know. And there’s not really a lot of spaces in the bar where large groups of friends can easily congregate. That being said, I did like their beer selections as well as some of their apps that I shared with my friends. And the service was pretty good as well. One weird thing was that they had live music going at like 5pm, which didn’t really make any sense to any of us. It just didn’t seem to fit the lively bright afternoon vibe. Nevertheless, I imagine I’ll be returning at some point in the future.

Well, it’s world of beer so you should have some idea what to expect — fifty plus drafts and five hundred different bottles at least. The only location I’ve frequented in the past is the brewery district location so I was actually taken aback upon learning they serve food. Looking forward to going back and trying it. The location is much larger than most others I’ve seen, clocking in at 4800 sq feet. That aside, it’s the high end finishes and big screens you’ll be used to. There was a band playing live at five which seemed a bit early. Tad bit loud too. They had these tablet menus that you could filter by region or style of beer that were really cool. Also worth noting the crowd was older than you might expect on campus. And the patio is equally huge. They open at eight in the morning on game day, fyi. This would normally be a three star review but the service was surprisingly attentive and personal, from not one but two of the many bartenders behind the bar. Oh and I better not forget the interesting infused gnarly brown ale they made. It was delicious. I will be back to check out their Tuesday and Wednesday specials they told me about(25% off select drinks)
