I used Yabo’s Tacos catering for my son’s graduation party Memorial Day weekend and have nothing but good things to say about my experience. The staff was very helpful helping me figure out what amount to order, and the delivery and set-up was prompt and professional. Our guests loved the chicken and pork tacos, the guacamole and chips, and pico and sauces. I was happy to share with them that the food was from Yabo’s. I would highly recommend Yabo’s catering and restaurant.

Unfortunately I just sat on hold for 8 ½ minutes and finally gave up. I would like to try their food some time but if I don’t ever take an order it’s kind of impossible to even try it

Just picked up a carry out order. Six tacos. $ 18. Not even complimentary chips and salsa. Highway robbery! I’ll be taking my business to literally any other Mexican themed restaurant.

One of The other reviews said«highly average». Yeah, I agree with that. We had burritos and drinks, and were disappointed. Highly average. I really wanted to like this place, and if management actually cared, it could be good. But I wasn’t impressed, and haven’t been back.

Worst Mexican I’ve ever had. My husband said that taco bell is better and I completely agree. The server was good, but that was the only good quality. The atmosphere was confusing and very loud and luckily we had a gift card because I would never pay for this food out of my own pocket.

After being notified that Yabo’s Food Truck would be at my place of business, I decided to venture out on this Spring afternoon to see what they had to offer. My $ 9 bought me two small tacos and a side of chips and salsa… at least when I finally got my meal. After waiting almost a half hour to order from the truck, and another 15 minutes to get my food once I ordered, then I was finally ready to dig in. Have you ever seen a movie preview that has gotten you really excited about a movie, and then you go to see it and find out that it’s nowhere close to as good as it looks? Well, if so, you’ve got Yabo’s Tacos Food Truck. I ordered two tacos, one chicken and one shredded pork. The chicken was moist and juicy, but the more of it that I ate, the more the herbaciousness took over, and left me wanting less. After a while, I felt like I was chewing on only the dried herbs that had been bathed in some kind of citrus acid. As for the pulled pork? It tasted like nothing at all, it was moist, but that’s all that it had going for it. Both had pieces of cilantro with the accompanying vegetables, but two of the pieces were definitely old and were a wide range of «earthy» green… brown…and black. The chips and salsa were… meh. They are pretty much the same chips and salsa that are standard fare at any run of the mill Mexican restaurant. The salsa had a small kick to it, but nothing really memorable about it. I hope that the restaurants have a better experience, because I was left underwhelmed by my experience with the truck. I might take my husband to a storefront location to see what his palate thinks, but I’d definitely let this food truck keep rolling on without stopping it.

I had wanted to try out this place since I was in the mood for some tacos around 11PM on a Friday and according to their hours they should have been open until 1AM. I get to the restaurant and as I sit down I am told that they are closing up for the night. I suppose the staff had better things to do that night then accept my business. Will not be returning

Great place to go on a Friday or Saturday night. You can grab a drink, order a few tacos and chat on their patio. They have like six hot sauces that sit on every table and I’m alllll about the hot sauce. You can’t go wrong with their guacamole or their cheese dip. Just awesome.

Went for lunch & left disappointed. The only redeeming quality was Malcolm, the nice server. Dirty tables with no offer to clean them. They even left someone else’s beer bottle on the table so we just moved it over to the railing & they still didn’t remove it. The strawberry salsa was fermented — I mean straight alcohol. The salsa bottles were filthy, crusty, & had old product. The food was just meh. Not much flavor. I wanted to like this place but just can’t. The building was pretty run down too. The ice tea had black floaters.

Big fan of Unilocal.Take it seriously. I’ve been to yabo’s a dozen times. I won’t go back. Food has gone downhill. Atmosphere and service are both great. In the past, the nacho dip(no meat) has been ok as are Baja style grilled fish tacos on corn tortilla. That’s it. I’ve had the burritos and rice/beans and have learned: Do not stray from this. But after tonight, I am unsure about nacho dip and fish tacos. I have a hard time ever wanting to go back. I made mistake of straying from fish tacos. But not just that. Things that are usually good weren’t tonight. We had chips and salsa and queso to start. Portions have been halved of salsa and queso. Not as good as previous visits. Price still same. For dinner, I wasn’t feeling like tacos so I went with the Yabos salad and chicken nips. Both were AWFUL. Chicken lacked flavor. Dressing was bad. Could get better salad across street at Wendy’s! Couldn’t believe I paid $ 17 for my dinner! Joke is on me. My daughters cheese quesidillas were even bad. If I have to go back(which will take some definite coaxing), I will just drink water.

I’ve tried this place a few times now and I keep hoping I’ll like it because it’s in my neighborhood but I’m just not impressed. The food is average. I believe priced a little high for what you get. My food is always cold and not filling. The only reason this place is getting 2 stars is they have one waitress there who’s very attentive. And the other star is for their choices of sauces.

This is probably my least favorite Mexican restaurant in Columbus, which is rather unfortunate because it’s also the closest taco/burrito place to my house. I’ve had both their tacos and burritos, and while they’re not bad, they’re pretty unremarkable. I think their meats aren’t seasoned that strongly because you’re supposed to put their variety of sauces on it, but their sauces really aren’t that good either in my opinion. While the food here isn’t «expensive» per se, it’s really not that great of a deal either compared to all the other Mexican food options in town.(Cuco’s, El Vaquero, or even Chipotle.) What does set Yabo’s apart from the other Mexican restaurants in town is their selection of beers. So if you absolutely need to drink a beer with your taco/burrito and it has to be something other than Corona or Dos Equis, then I suppose it makes sense to pick Yabo’s over the competition. Personally, I would just grab whatever beer I want from Market District next door and a burrito from Chipotle and call it a day…

My tacos were decent, but the margaritas are stupid expensive. This house marg was $ 6… I’ve taken shots bigger than this… Give the place a try if you’re hungry for tacos, but I’d look elsewhere if you’re hoping to down a few drinks.

This place is pretty average to below average as far as tacos go, and I seemed to have forgotten that since the last time I was there. The pricing is a little bit much if you’re going for the steak tacos($ 4.50 a piece), and there’s just nothing that wonderful about them. The rest of the meats are pretty bland as well, but they do offer plenty of sauces in order to compensate. There’s a cilantro one that’s decent, but the rest are forgettable. Well, except for the Fire Breather; you sure as hell won’t forget that one. Honestly, I eat a lot of spicy food and try a lot of hot sauces, and that bad boy has a hell of a kick to it. I’m still debating whether I liked it or not. I don’t think they have it on the tables, but you can just ask for it. The chips with guac, salsa, and queso were pretty tasty and possibly the only redeeming factor of our meal. The guacamole was chunky, and the salsa had really good flavor. The quesadilla was just okay, and at $ 6.75, you could definitely get better. The cheese tasted just like the queso dip, so I’m assuming they were the same, and that was all right with me. Overall, I don’t really see the point in going here unless you don’t have any other options. There’s plenty of authentic places around town which have much more flavorful meat and tacos at half the cost. If you don’t like authentic, you can go to Bakersfield and get more creative tacos for about the same price as you can get a taco at Yabo’s, so there’s really no excuse to go back. I’m sure I’ll forget about all this 6 months from now, however, and find myself wanting to give it another shot.

After heading to Yabo’s for a book club meeting and failing to try any food or drinks, I vowed to come back soon. On a Tuesday night, I did. Unfortunately, we quickly learned that Tuesday is «kid’s night,» so that wasn’t great. Luckily, we grabbed a booth fairly far away from most of the louder families. No offense intended, just not our favorite environment. The takeaway for us is that maybe we wouldn’t come back on a Tuesday(and I’m sharing this because others might feel the same way!) I got the big sloppy yabo burrito and the house margarita, the special. The burrito was REALLY good! I got it with grilled chicken. It was smothered in this amazing cheese that I would love to have put on everything else I eat from now on, thanks! I usually avoid peppers and onions, but I ate these because they were so delicious. The burrito was really great! Unfortunately, my margarita was initially meh, and then awful! It was strong, which is fine, but as I kept drinking, it was SO salty it was undrinkable. I don’t know if squeezing the lime in it to dilute it a little was what did it, but blegh! It also came in a little drinking glass, which wasn’t really what I expected. My boyfriend got 4 tacos, 2 steak and 2 shrimp. I tried one and it was good, but I could tell he definitely wasn’t full after 4. He ate some of my burrito, and neither of us was that full afterwards. Our bill was close to $ 30 and, for that, I’d hope to be full. Yabo’s was better than what the reviews lead me to expect, but a few things were off for me. I’d come back for that burrito, but I’ll probably order a different drink and come back on a different day. Otherwise, I think Yabo’s could be a good, fun place, especially if you were on the patio or doing trivia.

You can’t have your eyes open without seeing 5 TVs(so there’s no awkward attempt to sit where you can pretend to listen while secretly watching TV over their shoulder), the staff is attentive and friendly, the food comes out quickly and perfectly prepared, and the draft beer selection is one of the best in town! The margaritas are also tasty. Don’t try and compare this place to any«Mexican» restaurant; this is Southwestern food and reminds me of Santa Fe. The massive(more of an Americanized selection) is three meals for a normal person and is perhaps the best value on the menu, but you’d better love meats and cheese if you order it! I’ve eaten here dozens of times, and I can tell when a review has been written based on one visit. Any one visit at ANY restaurant can be less than perfect, and I’ve certainly had a couple of times when I wished the service here was a bit better. I’ve also had a couple of dishes that just didn’t suit me; that’s okay, not every meal is supposed to be your favorite! My advice, whether you liked it or not, is to go back again and give it another try. Any locally-owned business deserves a second chance if they disappointed you, and they most certainly deserve your repeat business if they delighted you.

Not a bad place to eat. It is so close to Chipotle in type of food and in location that we would rather go there. Chipotle tastes better to me(sorry Yabos). I do like the remodel. Them putting the bar in the back is a way better use of space. I would go here to meet some friends for a drink and some chips & dips.
