I ordered two meals by phone from Souvlaki Palace from an, apparently, incomplete, menu that I found online( ). I intended to order the«Mixed Grill Piklia Skaras,» which is a hot, meat, dish($ 28) and the«Palace Salad»(large, $ 13). Due to confusion, a lot of noise, and a heavily-accented man on their end, the Palace Salad was correct, but the Piklia turned out to be a cold, vegetarian, appetizer version($ 18), which I did not discover until I got home. They charged the correct amounts($ 13 + $ 18), but, I was stlll disappointed in not getting what I really wanted. Next time I need to order from home, I’ll use their fax number. Having said all that, both meals were quite filling and tasty, and we were barely able to get through a third of the 8″ wide metal platters(granted, these were cold dishes, but microwave-safe containers would have been better). The establishment is small, and anyone coming in for take-out will have to walk through most of the dining room to get to their meals, which means disturbing the other customers. I would definitely be annoyed at this, as I have indicated in another restaurant review. The staff was friendly and helpful, though I didn’t hear the voice of the older man who answered the phone. So, I doubt that I will ever eat in the«palace,» but, will have no problem ordering take-out, albeit with a lot more care!

Ordered take out. Everything was very good. Hummus for appetizer was the real deal. I love when it’s pure and fresh like it was from here. And they give you a big portion. I had the gyro platter with lemon potatoes and a small Greek salad. The gyro meat was delicious, the lemon potatoes were nicely cooked with a slight lemon flavor which was yummy. The platter came with a Greek salad and it was big! I just wish the salad had fresh dill in it but the salad dressing was very flavorful so it kinda made up for it. Overall I enjoyed my dinner and would definitely order take out from here again!

I once went here for dinner on a Saturday night a few years ago(we were two couples) and we all liked the food and reasonable prices. More recently, I went about a month ago for lunch and again today for lunch(by myself). The only reason I wouldn’t give it 5 stars is that it’s in a crowded little suburban strip mall with minimal parking, and the ambiance is of a small coffee shop with a small counter, maybe a half dozen booths and as many tables. I have not tried their souvlaki, lamb, or beef, and probably won’t, but I also don’t order steak in a diner. Today I had the humus, falafel and salad lunch special. The falafel was fresh, very soft(falls off the fork), not too spicy, and it came with a little bowl of delicious tehina sauce. I don’t know a place that makes better falafel and tehina sauce on Long Island. The humus wasn’t the typical out-of-the-container paste, but had a rougher texture and I used the fresh pita to wipe it off the plate. The fresh salad(lettuce, tomato, cucumber, red onion) was served with another little bowl of mild, thick, and really delicious pesto sauce(and I’m not normally a big pesto fan). For an extra $ 1.50 you get soup — I chose the lemon chicken with orzo and it was fine. Lunch was $ 11.35 with tax included. Last time I went for lunch, I brought home half for leftovers. Today I ate it all(no leftovers) — it’s a lot of food, a bargain, very fresh and delicious.

I’m actually amazed to see less than 5 stars! First of all, hands down the best Greek Salad dressing. This hole in the wall is hidden in a very small parking lot. But you get there during lunch, you will be served a huge Greek Salad and Monster gyro for less than $ 10. Trust me, you’ll have left overs! The gyros and souvlaki are just amazingly delicious and my toddler loves it too! I dine here at least once a week and literally try everything. Certainly one of my favorite spots and beats down my past beloved«Greek Village». I haven’t been there since the moment I fell for this place.

My coworker wanted Greek and spoke highly of this spot so she pulled up the menu online to see my options. I opted for a small Greek salad with chicken. Online was about $ 6 plus $ 3 and change for the chicken. I figured $ 10 for a small Greek salad was cool. I was wrong! My coworker was charged $ 15 for my salad and when she questioned it they said you can’t go by the menu online! I’m sorry $ 15 for a Greek salad is ridiculous! I’ve had a lot bigger and better Greek salads for a lot less! The one thing that they have going for them was their dressing! Disappointed!

I live in Deer Park which is a few towns over … I pass about 4 other Greek places on the way, but i come here all the time. The help is great, the service is fast and the food is amazing. Their Gyro is stuffed with meat and everything is fresh and amazing. In my opion, the best gyro on long island

If you think Long Island is a wonderland, then that makes this the Palace In Wonderland. Unfortunately Long Island may not be wonderland, and this is more of a little unheralded underrated shack than a palace. Its ratings are low and it has its slow days. But I’ll tell you what. The Souvlaki Palace has absolutely delicious Greek food. They do it right. And I don’t just mean bedroom activities. What to get: Chicken Souvlaki What else: Gyro, Greek Salad, a very sore bottom Why is that: It’s a Greek place, you figure it out This restaurant is in Commack. The town that inspired the song Commack Chameleon by Boy George’s Culture Club. You remember the one. Commack commack commack commack commack chameleon You commack and go, you commack and go Eating would be easy if your food was like this Greek Souvlaki & Feta Cheese, Souvlaki & Feta Cheese If you keep repeating«I want Greek food» every time I say it, then it’s Souvlaki Parrot. The first time I was here was while on tour. My Commack show was in 2009(or was it 2010), and I stopped here for a Souvlaki. Absolutely delicious. Enormous chunks of marinaded skewered chicken in an enormous pita slathered in sauce with all kinds of yummy fresh salad. I remember the chicken was so marinaded that it was bright yellow. And it was so juicy and delicious and filled me right up before my concert. If you get committed because you go crazy over this food, then it’s Souvlaki Padded(cell). The second time I stopped here was before a Stony Brook concert a year later. And then my third trip was about a year ago, when I split a Gyro and Greek Salad with a hot girl. We both loved it. It’s a hands down 5 out of 5 and one of the better Greek Diners I’ve ever been to. Western NY has the best Greek food(so far) but outside WNY this is in my top 5 favourites. And if there is a fire here while you’re here, it’s Souvlaki Panic. And if you order a Gyroryg instead of just a Gyro, then it’s Souvlaki Palindrome. And if you bring Mel Gibson and Tina Turner here then it’s Mad Greek: Beyond Palindrome.

A great local choice for takeout. Their food is always consistent, regardless of if you order a salad or gyro. Their chicken is always well seasoned, their hummus is plentiful and their dressing is a true Greek experience. Their spinach pie is one of the best I have tasted, and their fish is always fresh. We order from here at least twice a month and have never encountered something we have not liked.

This is a favorite local Greek restaurant of ours when we are in the area. The menu is typical of any no-frills Greek place, but the execution is always on point. You can take out or eat in — the ambiance is similar to a diner. My go-to meal here is the Horiatiki salad topped with chicken gyro. The small is huge, and it comes with a whole pita on the side, as well as delicious homemade dressing and tzatziki on the side. I’ve also had the chicken souvlaki sandwich, which is basically a huge Greek salad and well-spiced grilled chicken in a pita. My husband always loves a side of lemon potatoes with his meal. We’re never disappointed.

Souvlaki Palace offers really great Greek food(with the exception of the enormous tentacled octopus appetizer). With super fresh ingredients and a nice menu, it’s definitely worth a try.

Best Greek Food I have found on Long Island! The portions are massive, the food is amazing! I love the chicken stuffed with spinach and artichokes with melted mozzerella on top! Comes with grilled veg and green beans a salad and desert for around $ 16– this will feed two!!! Amazing. Best kept secret. The atmosphere is like a mpm and pop place, I go for the food and am never disappointed and I am a food snob! Try it, you’ll like it!

We drove past this place everyday and we wanted to know what a svoulaki was(char broiled cubes of meat). As fans of Mediterranean food, we stopped in today and were greeted by very friendly staff. The service here was quick, the greeter was a cutie. The food was delicious. One of the best gyros I’ve had, chicken and rice soup was very good, you could tell they use fresh ingredients in everything. It’s definitely a spot we will be going to regularly. Very moderately priced and highly recommended.

The gyros here a delicious. Having other Greeks restaurants near by this one was my favorite. The rice and spanakopita were really good too. Would definitely recommend this place to go because I haven’t ate there. The food was done quick was inexpensive and comes in large portions.

Run of the mill, mom and pop, take out greek spot. Food isn’t bad, although I’m not the biggest fan of greek food, but the staff is very friendly and it has a homie atmosphere.

After having driven past this place every day for the past 8 months, I finally stopped in yesterday evening. We walked in a few minutes after 8:30 and were immediately greeted by horrible service — the waitress looked at us from the chair she was sitting on and turned back to what she was doing with neither a word nor«seat yourself» gesture. On top of that, they made it well known to us that we need to order quickly because the kitchen was closing. I’ve come across this situation before but their delivery — hell, their customer service — needs practice. Their food, admittedly, tasted good and the only reason why I gave them more than one star. We ordered a gryo dinner platter with rice and split pea soup, and a Greek gyro sandwich. We received complimentary dessert — presumably as an apology for their bad service — which were also tasty but I’m not sure what either were. Overall, I would recommend you try their food. But only for pick-up.
