Primitive Fear

Went to this haunted house last year as well as the asylum and let me tell you well Worth the money and time !! You may wait in line a while but actors are walking around interacting with you ! Also very fun and creative it is a good scary one !

I love going to haunted houses, although I’m a bit of a fraidy cat. I get scared even standing in line, especially when some of the freaky gouls from the haunted house wander around the line, sneaking up on people. I’m the one in the group who is constantly looking around cautiously, and hiding behind a friend when one of the scary characters come near. They had a few of these guys at the «Hauntplex» which is two haunted houses right next to each other. You can’t beat two haunted houses for $ 25. Although expect to make a night of it because it takes twice as long to wait in line as it does to make it through one house. It was a nice night though, so it wasn’t bad at all. Bring a bottled water or something though because there are no refreshments.
The «13^th Street Manor» was the first one we went into, and it was my favorite of the two despite all the hullabaloo made about how scary «Primitive Fear» was supposed to be. But maybe I was just desensitized by the first house to be scared for the second one.
I was sandwiched in the middle between girlfriends, but I made myself look up as much as possible. I can’t tell you what was scarier about the 13^th Street Manor except that it just seemed more realistically creepy rather than just trying too hard. It’s supposedly built upon a real haunted house from ages ago, and it seemed like more of a haunted «house» with various themed rooms. There were weird crooked cracks in walls that were the only way out of the room, and holes that you had to climb through. The rooms were just strange and scared me even when the people didn’t. By the time we got to Primitive Fear, I was more having fun and laughing. There were some cool effects, like you had to walk between these obstacle course rooms with ropes and rubber mats, and you weren’t sure if someone was lurking where you couldn’t easily get away. It was just more disconnected than the manor, because it didn’t seem to have a real theme. So overall I had a blast, but I have definitely been to scarier haunted houses in my day.

We went to the Hauntplex featuring 13^th Street Manor and Primitive Fear up in Commerce City and had a frightfully good time! They had lots of cool set effects/​designs, plenty of doors to open and jumpy moments, and even the classic chainsaw chasers! It is a little prices to get in ($ 25 for both houses), but very entertaining and well-​worth it!
