Taco Star

One thing I’ll say is, I’ve always liked the food. Tasty and fairly quick once u put your order in. Now the reasons I took a couple stars off are:
1. They have one person taking both inside and drive through orders. I’ve waited there 2 – 3 mins before anyone showed up to take my order.
2. The girl that was taking orders today, she Walked up and just stared… no «can I take your order», «what can I get for u», nothing… so after about 20 seconds of akwardness I just started ordering, and she started jotting stuff down.
So in short, food=good, service=not good.

BEST burrito in Denver!!! A little off the beaten track, but worth the drive. I crave their Colorado burrito. And their carne asana fries are amazing!!!

I can’t even count the amount of times I had employees tell me they were late to returning back to work because they were stuck in drive through at Taco Star. After hearing about that– I never even wanted to think about going to eat there! Well, technically, somebody brought me a breakfast burrito from there a while back (close to a year ago).
It was ok, but nothing to write home about. However, it was a decent size, the eggs were overcooked (IMO), leaving it slightly dry. That also was not a selling point.
However, recently, some of my employees have been trying to sell me on Taco Star’s carne asada fries. They insisted it is better than Tacos Rapidos. I mean, I kept laughing at them when they tried to swoon me.
After the sometimes failed attempts to Chubby’s and just not wanting to drive to Tacos Rapidos, I caved in and went to Taco Star. I mean, it does have a 24 hour drive through (more on that later) and is also within 5 minutes of my work. I knew that the worst that could come out of this would be a gluttonous relationship with their fries.
And, that kind of did happen. I went one night sometime 2 weeks ago, and believe it or not, the line wasn’t terrible. I mean, there was a person in front of me, I waited a few minutes (so ok, they make their stuff to order– nothing wrong with that!). Then it was my turn to pay. The fries are a little pricier here (about 75 cents more than TR), but come with plenty of salsa as well.
Their fries are pretty tasty– at least the toppings. The fries can be bland but I guess with all of the sodium in the toppings it can partially justify it. I guess my palette is very picky when it comes to seasonings.
But you know what, I went back, and I kept going back. And when I can’t go, I send my employees to go get it for me.
Now I want to find out why in the hell when I tried pulling in last night their were upside down empty paint buckets blocking the entrance! I then realized the lights were out. How dare they be closed on a random Wednesday night! That messed with my emotions. So yea, not sure what that was about, but definitely not 24 hours…

This is a joke right?! Hairs in my tacos! All I want are some damn tacos !! The Taco Bell across the street just did the same thing! Ughh so I call and the lady literally hung up on me when I said that. Tacos were purchased at about 6:40

Looks sketch from far away. As if you were going to a suspect McDonald’s with a different name on the side of the street but these fries and ambiance is incredible. Like I said grab the fries you won’t be disappointed. Shoutout to reek for putting me on.

Stopped here for a quick bite, while on my way to Brighton. I wish there were a 3 ½ star option. I had the crispy beef tacos and they were fantastic! Far beyond what you get at any other fast food, quick taco joint. Freshly fried taco shell and filled to heaping with beef and toppings. Delicious salsa too! The negatives, there were several dirty tables when I arrived, and they were still dirty when I left, 40 minutes later. There were only two other customers in the dining area and it wasn’t a peak busy time. The parking lot is a bit awkward in shape and small which makes it somewhat difficult to maneuver.
