I love this place. They remember me and the kids as we are like family. Highly recommend!

Most every time I have been in the store or purchased something I have never felt truly welcome or respected. The owner is a bit cool, and the very young women who work there (4 at once my last visit) by an large have not been trained on warmth or customer service. One has an expression of anger or malaise in her eyes, as if she could do something dangerous or so hates being there. I have purchased eyeglasses there but do not feel like giving them my money again. By way of contrast went into a Lenscrafters (fist time visit) at the mall and wow! what friendly and attentive service, and what felt like genuine interest. No sincerity at SPECS. Wish they could learn about how to provide a great customer experience.

I moved out of state and had called them to see if I could get my contact prescription when I came into town even though it was old. They said I could, but when I came in they told me that it was expired and I couldn’t have it and they could not give me a trial pair. The last left contact I have is torn and I can’t afford to get a new exam done. They were very condescending when they told me I could be doing serious damage to my eye. I know this. I have worked in the eye care industry. I cannot afford new ones. Very disrespectful and rude people there. Never again.

I drove by Specs Eyewear Studio at least 300 times before deciding to stop in… and when I finally did, I TOTALLY regretted not doing it sooner. Tucked away in a strip mall on the corner of Union Lake Rd. and Wise Rd., you will find my favorite spot to pick up gifts for every occasion — or to do a little shopping for myself.
Don’t let the name fool you — Specs is MUCH more than an Eyewear Studio. Yes, they offer eye exams but the place is packed with trendy accessories, clothing, candles, stationary and much more!
Prices can vary at Specs. They carry high end designer sunglasses that range from $ 100-​$ 250, but they also carry earrings for $ 5. Their sale section ALWAYS has great bargains! I have found items up to 75% off.
Everyone at Specs is SUPER friendly. They are always willing to help select the perfect gift or show you the new items that have come in. Everyone is very educated on where the products have come from, who designed them or if they are locally made; because Specs has an amazing selection of Michigan-​made products from local artisans. This place is addicting — so BE PREPARED
