Floors dirty, food is poor, staff that doesn’t seem to care = bad restaurant. I love good bbq but this isn’t it. I will not be returning.

Dickey’s, as you probably know, is a BBQ chain restaurant with fair to midland cuisine. This one in particular opened in my small town of Commerce, which I took for a positive thing. However, my recent experiences with them will unfortunately prevent me from returning. In my estimation, everything on their menu is fairly pricey, with the notable exception of their daily specials, which are very reasonably priced. For a long time, this was as far as it went between them and I as a healthy business-customer relationship blossomed. However, the Commerce location recently began to enact a policy where they refuse to serve daily specials to their drive-thru customers, which I found out by attempting to place an order in the drive-thru. I thought maybe this was just a rogue employee with awful training, so I tried again on a different day with the same result. I don’t know what the reason could possibly be for this, because I don’t see any tangible benefit on their part to treat drive-thru customers like second-rate citizens. In fact, if I walk in and place the order, it’s MORE detrimental to their bottom line, because I’m then prone to take advantage of their free refills or their free ice cream. I attempted to call the store and communicate with their manager to get to the bottom of this, but they’ve either unplugged their phone or just ignore it, because both times I’ve called, it’s just rang interminably. Thus, I’m left to assume that since there’s no readily apparent logical explanation for this, that it’s simply an arbitrary and stupid rule that was cooked up for the sake of implementing a rule. Since that’s obviously absurd and since I don’t make it my policy to do business with simpletons, I’ve ceased my business with them, and shall not return. I don’t know if it’s incompetence or willful disdain for their drive thru customers that fuels their actions, but they’ve lost themselves a customer.
