Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt

I think this place is pretty awesome. I prefer it over other yogurt places. I come here at least once a week.
The place is clean and the staff is bearable.
Great place to swing by and hang our for a couple minutes.

Menchies! Yes, I am a fan. This is a smaller location so there is less of a variety of flavors. But I am so happy Compton is building and having things available in the city vs their residences having to travel to adjacent cities to indulge in great places such as menchies.
What I like the best is when I come in here the employees seem like they want to be at work. Every one of my visits, everyone has been helpful and cheery keeping up with the menchies way! I have yet to experience the bad customer service others have mentioned. Thank you menchies for opening in Compton.
The yogurt was just as good as the location I frequent that is close to my place. Everything was neat and clean in the store as well.

Good toppings and frozen yogurt but terrible service every time, I would avoid it because of the service.

Love the Dole Pineapple yogurt here, but it seems like they change that one in particular all the time. U have to call and find out before heading to the place to see if they have ur flavor. Employees definitely need customers service training. As long as u don’t talk to them u will be fine, Lol. keep DOLE pineapple all the time.

I was NOT feeling this place at all. The flavors were terrible and overly sweet. The yogurt was too icy and not smooth the way I like it. The toppings were similar to Yogurtland and other better places, but the area was messy and toppings were spilled everywhere. I definitely won’t be back. Seems like it’s great for kids who enjoy an overload of sugar.

Really wish I can give them zero stars. It’s dirty and all these employees lack customer service and are completely rude! Eventually they changed their store hours from 11pm to 10pm. I stop by Chipotle at 950pm thinking I have plenty of time to pass by for some frozen yogurt. By the time I seen that I was heading to menchies I noticed that they were closing down and seen that they changed their store hours. I was bummed and told my husband that I had no idea that they had changed their hours. When we were heading back to the car my husband had over heard one of the employees that was closing the door «yeah you ain’t getting no dam ice cream» …like really? Rude! I definitely won’t be coming back to this location.

I went on a Saturday night around 10pm because it said its was open until 11pm & when I got there at 10:09pm the place was closed! Really!!! I was very disappointed :/​Be more accurate with the time for the location!!!

My sister and I were in the mood for some yougurt so being this is the closest yougurt spot to us we decided to give it try. We didnt like any of the flavors they were all too milky, it was gross. We wanted yogurt not ice cream. I will never go to a Menchies again.

This was my first time here and I was not sure what to expect. I mean I know there are plenty of frozen yogurt places out there and a person could try and go to and my friend wanted to go here so I was willing to give it a try. I tried out a few of the fruit flavored that were pineapple and strawberry. The pineapple flavor had much more flavor and I would go back and get that one again. The topping options were interesting to say the least because there was actual cool whip as a topping and some other things that I did not expect to see. Apparently you cannot buy a cup with only toppings.
You have to purchase yogurt even though youau only want toppings. According to them, they make no money from toppings! Hahaha!
It is all based on weight. Lets get our facts straight.
Try to train your team a bit better, wear propper uniform, and customer service is key! Not worth coming again!

Hey I love this place I’m here a lot friendly service and love the toppings and the staff is very knowledgeable and friendly and they like it when you taste the flavors

So I’m a huge Yogurtland fan. And i tried Menchie’s once before and it wasn’t that great. But this time around I tried to give it another shot. «Why not?» I said, maybe this time, it would be different. It actually wasn’t too bad. But i definitely like the toppings and flavors at Yogurtland. But enjoying the little dessert is the real reason this isn’t a 1 star review.
My experience (last night mind you) was terrible. For one, I walk in with my boyfriend and a customer (who I think was probably a friend of the employee who was working) «greeted» us. There was only one person working and she just gave off that «vibe» that she didn’t want to be there. I don’t know about most food places, but I’m pretty sure a camouflage shirt and jeans with an apron is appropriate work attire. Second thing I noticed about her was the way she treated one of the guests when one of them politely told/​asked her about one of the yogurts not dispensing and the employee replied very rudely «it’s probably out. you have to stop and let it freeze.» and proceeded to continue very rudely say «it’ll take one minute» and then went to the back to do whatever she had to do.
I’ll be honest for the time she was gone, people probably could have walked out with free frozen yogurt.
And finally what really had me to not want to ever go back was when my boyfriend and I finally got up to the register for our time to pay for our yogurt. If you’ve never been to Yogurtland, well then let me tell you that if you have more than one bowl to pay for, you can place both on the scale. (and the first time I went to Menchie’s, I was able to do the same) But this one, the employee said «no, just one at a time» (rudely remember) and then as I placed the second bowl on the scale, she proceeded to take off the other one, again rudely.
I will never be there again. At least when I go to Yogurtland, the employees seem to enjoy their job. So I will be just fine traveling a little further to get better service as well as yogurt and toppings.

As a Platinum Yogurtland Member, I must say that there is something about Menchie’s in Compton that not only satisfies my ice cream craving, but that also fuels my soul. From the moment you walk in, there are variety of FLAVORS, with a large choice of topping choices to choose from for a price that beats Yogurtland each & every time!
It’s always a pleasure going into Menchies on Sunday because there’s always someone there who opens themselves up to hearing about what the sermon at church was about. My brother and I call it «Menchie’s Ministry». The energy is always great and the people that work at this location are super amazing!
On Friday nights, you can fill your cup up for $ 5 with toppings included. They also have 32oz. Pre-​packs where you can buy one & get the other one free. Lastly, they offer various deals here and there so that you get what you pay for.
With that being said, I hope Yogurtland does not revoke my Platinum Card, because I still love them, but my God… Menchie’s is so much better!!! s

Most people eat either ice cream or frozen yogurt. To me the different is slight and I’ve eaten yogurt for so long to me it taste like ice cream without the guilt. My inner fatty is just happy to get a treat so she doesn’t care. Plus then is my season to eat yogurt. It’s cold and hopefully we will get some rain and all I want is ice cold yogurt to eat… well and some mac and cheese but this is WAAAY HEALTIER!
This place is located in a new strip mall in Compton where the dealerships used to be many moons ago. My co-​worker kept telling me about it trying to get me to go but I never did or would until we were out picking up lunch the other day and she drove. I wanted yogurt for lunch and was planning to go to Yogurtland because they have the new holiday flavors pumpkin pie being one of my favs but she mentioned she had a coupon and I could try this place. So I said ok.
We drove over and found parking easily since I think this place is not very well known. So that was great. We picked up the lunches and head over to Menchie’s. I had seen the Undercover Boss for this place so I knew a little something about it.
I checked out the flavors and they don’t have as many as Yogurtland but they did have some holiday flavors. I looked for pumpkin and it wasn’t there. I looked for eggnog… not there. I looked for my olé stand by and fav pistachio and NOPE not there. SO then I looked to see what I would possible want and they had a praline so I tried it but it didn’t float my boat. I also saw Cinnabon and tried it thinking it would be super sweet like the actual Cinnabons but it wasn’t and it tasted really cinnamon.
I saw some smaller cups on the counter that were written on the bottom but didn’t see any other out to use so I asked if they had more and sadly they didn’t. Those were for some promotion they were having over the weekend so I just used one of the regular cups.
They only have one size cup which was fine but Yogurtland has a larger size. Since I don’t ever get much the normal size was ok. I got my Cinnabon and then walked over to the toppings. They have WAAAYYY MORE toppings then Yogurtland which I TRULY LIKED but still ended up getting almonds.
I walked up to the cash register, paid got a spoon and I was done. NOT BAD at all and they didn’t mind me using the coupon even though I didn’t get much. A couple dollars and I was walking out a HAPPY CAMPER. They even gave me several more coupons so I was able to give those to my co-​worker that comes her often since she was kind to share her coupon with me.
They also have a frequent buyer reward program you can sign up for and they sell balls, t-​shirts, lip balm, stickers, pencils, and pins if you’re into that kind of thing. The store was clean and bright and decorated with a kid in mind so the walls have little Menchie characters on it. CUTE if you like things like that.
Overall a good experience. I found out as I was leaving they just got rid of pumpkin pie because they only have it for Halloween, but since pumpkin is a FALL staple it be nice to have it all season long. They also won’t be getting eggnog but will get a peppermint flavor in for the holidays. They stagger them so it might or might not be there when you go.

I like this place I’m glad that they opened one out here. The people who work there are friendly and the variety of frozen yogurt is good. Make sure to ask for your rewards card if you are going to be there a lot.

Love their bright colors and the varieties of flavors and toppings. My favorite was the heath bar and cake batter and there hot fudge topping. Fyi only 44cents an oz. Also register for there rewards card to earn 5 dollars when you earned 50 points.
