I love going to new places! This used to be Tacos y Mas as evidenced by the large Tacos y Mas mural on one side of the wall. This spot is a great find so far. Been lookin for good Mexican restaurant to replace El Pescador. Picosos has two oil drum grills outside along with several outdoor tables. The smell coming from the grill when we walked up was excellent. There was definitely carne asada cookin on the grill. They fancy themselves as a sports restaurant. There are 2 flat screen TVs to watch your favorite sport. Had to try the carne asada. If you’re lookin for some home made carne asada and Mexican food around Carson this might be it. I had the carne asada taco plate. Three tacos with meat, cilantro, and onions on two small corn tortillas each. The plate has some refried pinto beans with some cheese on it, rice, and tortilla chips. This was one of the rare times where I ate all the beans and rice on the plate. I went to the salsa bar and scoped out all the condiments. Loaded my chips up with pico de gallo, radishes, and pickled jalapenos. The tacos are really good with their red salsa and some lime. Yummilicious! The meat is full of flavor like how I make carne asada. I get the marinated ranchera carne asada at Vallarta and then marinate it more with some beer. Let that sit for a few hours or overnight and you have some awesomely tender and flavorful meat on the grill. I had carne asada 2 days ago and still loved it, can’t get tired of good carne asada. They have many other dishes and meats like tongue. Didn’t have any tamales today so gotta try the other dishes. The prices are great for example the plate was $ 5.99.
