I stopped by to try a variety of their offerings. They’re an asada specialist and I tasted the best they had to offer. At $ 12 for a taco, vampiro, chorreada, quesadilla, and a horchata, I didn’t feel it was a great value for what I tasted. I recently had better Mexican food truck food(Sinaloan-style tacos) a couple days ago in Panorama City. It definitely was not worth the drive from West Hollywood to Compton. It would be good to taste if lived in the area, but I didn’t find it worth the 40 minute drive. It’s a family owned business and it’s definitely a neighborhood spot and place people should visit if they live nearby and support. It’s a trailer in a tire shop with tables where they serve you. I think I went on a bad day. No grill to be seen outside as the pictures posted on Street Gourmet LA blog. Maybe it was not mesquite grilled that day or I don’t like that flavor. I could not take the burnt blackened taste of that tortilla in my mouth. I finished it, but it was not pleasurable. – Check out Instagram @tacos_lacarreta.
