Tam’s Burgers No 23

Walked here while doing Jury Duty in the City of Compton. I had been stuck in the jury room all morning and figured it was Tam’s, you can’t go wrong. Burger tasted like cardboard and was about as thick. No flavor, half a head of lettuce and just blah! Fries were good, but still blah. Thankful I only spent $ 6.

Tams burgers are consistent. As a chain that makes a lot of orders the food is greasy and good. I come for lunch so it is busy but always friendly and I get good service. Opens early for breakfast and it generally is busy whenever I pass by.

I came here on a lazy Saturday morning. The eggs taste like someone’s armpits and the bacons tastes like it’s been dropped on the floor.
Very disgusting. The health department needs to be called in.

This place has bad service. Waiting in drive thru for a while, decided to park the car and do walk up just as bad, don’t recommend this place.

First timer earlier today for brunch. Pastrami burger was legit and chili cheese fries was great! Guy name George was real helpful! Very descriptive about what they give.

Really good breakfast. Fast and friendly service. What more can I ask for? Nice job Tams :)

First time trying Tams and I’m definitely a fan! I ordered a pastrami burger and had some of my friends chili cheese fries both tasted freshly prepared. The location itself was well maintained and clean, the photos on the outside of the menu are what caught my attention in the first place and got me to come in, I hate going to places where there are no pics on the menu then when I get my food it looks totally different than i envisioned! I guess what I’m trying to get at is give this place a try since I’m vouching for it

I have now been here a couple times now and keep wanting to come back. I order a 3 meat breakfast burrito and it is the greatest thing ever!!! I think this place makes one of the best Bearkats burritos around. I will be coming back a lot more, keep doing what you guys are doing because that breakfast is the BOMB!!!

The food at Tam’s is a new experience in «fast food». Everything was freshly prepared, with huge, gratifying portions. My burrito was enough for the next 2 days, and the home made salsa was amazing. The onion rings and fries were off the chain – crispy& well seasoned, not limp & heat lamp preserved. The menu was extensive& service was prompt. Yay, Tam’s!!!

This place is awesome! Really good pastrami, and the chili cheese fries were done right. I’m not a big dude, but I couldn’t stop eating. Made it home just in time for a blissful food coma.

Omg the fries alone are always so crispy but so soft never soggy and the pastrami sandwich is always packed with so much meet they are not greedy at all lol they give you ranch and thousand island for free they dont charge lol also recommend all of their breakfast burritos so good ! But also very huge !

Made the terrible mistake of picking something up here because I was stuck doing jury duty in Compton ! I got food poisoning!!! The most horrible experience ever. Stay away!!!

They take forever, they don’t care about their customers. I was at the drive through speaker for 10 minutes waiting for someone to respond to me on top of that my food took another 10 minutes I spent a total of 20 minutes trying to get a small chili cheese fries and a raspberry iced tea

I will never come to this Tam’s again for anything other than breakfast. I grew up on the West Side of Compton and would often frequent the Tam’s on Rosecrans and Central Ave. Now living in a different area I stumbled across this Tam and was full of excitement.
I just spent $ 20 on 2 of the most disgusting burger combos. They put the butt of the tomato on both mine and my sons burger, packed it with hard lettuce, the patty was as thin as paper, and the bacon on my burger was so hard it seemed to be left over from this mornings breakfast.
Next time I’ll stick to the one I know.

Thoroughly unimpressed. I ordered a cheeseburger combo. The best thing I had was the drink (coke). The burger was plain, lacked flavor (just noticed they don’t put onions), whereas other Tams restaurants do. The fries tasted semi-​raw, which I detest.
Compared to other Tams restaurants I’ve been to this one is the bottom of the totem pole.

The food was mediocre at best.
Service was okay. The staff seemed to be bothered. The cleanliness of the location was horrible. Homeless people hanging around and the restroom was filthy and covered from floor to ceiling with graffiti… AND the sink was broken. I’ve been to other locations and they were head and shoulders better than this one… granted it’s in a horrible neighborhood… but why perpetuate the stereotype by letting a normally great restaurant into a rundown establishment.

Oh man, Tam’s is one of my all-​time favorite burger spots! We will spontaneously leave OC just to go here on the weekend sometimes.
Although we have been to a few other Tam’s locations I choose to endorse this Compton one. Why? They have never been crowded during the times we visit (weekend mornings and afternoons). Maybe because it’s nestled in a somewhat industrialized area, not sure. The staff is truly accommodating and never stingy with providing extra ranch or napkins (which are always pluses in my book).
What do we typically order here? A large or small chili cheese fries with pastrami. It has never disappointed. Huge portions, small or large and just oozing with melted cheddar cheese, hot chili and thick enough slices of pastrami. The hubby and I usually share. Think we’ve also had their omelettes (which were okay) and steak and pastrami sandwiches are good.
The Norwalk Tam’s is geographically the closest to us, unfortunately, they seem relentlessly packed whenever we go there. And finding parking can take awhile. This Compton Tam’s Burgers has a ton of parking:)
Wish we had a Tam’s Burgers in Orange County, I love this place!
