My husband and I have both bought things here and sold things. First, the staff is friendly and helpful. However, from time to time they can be short staffed. Also, it’s hit or miss if you can get something sold for a good price. Overall, it has been a good place for us to pick up some home furnishings for the fraction of what it would cost you at an antique store.

don’t sell anything here. Had a 700.00 dollar piece that sold for 85.00 dollars. Good deals maybe to buy there but loosing your shirt to sell there.

This place is a trip– for local color, right up there with the Salvation Army Auto Auction in Hooksett. Worth a go just for the ambiance. Large rotating clientele of rag-picker/storage auction /carny type people planted ceremoniously on old movie theater chairs; one gets the feeling it is their big night out. Auction starts at 6pm Monday and Thurs. On the early end dinner is available, canteen truck fare replete with bad coffee, styrofoam, etc. Arrive well before 6 pm to register and check over the junk(pictured on website but pictures do not do it justice) or you won’t know what you are bidding on. Monday auctions consist largely of items that you would find off the truck of Clean Out Your House/1−800-JUNK type gig, items the rest of us would hesitate to display at a yard sale. That said, have found some real bargains here, consistent attendance helps with your bidding technique and evaluation of fellow scrappers– I mean bidders, most of whom are in it for resale. If you come to just outfit your apartment or buy single items, you can outbid them and get a bargain as well — they won’t buy anything more than 1⁄3 of what they can sell it for. Example: I won a hotel quality like new wing chair for $ 40 . Then again, frequent attendance can result in a sordid feeling. Originally was interested in this place for used books — most of which are crappy discards from ‘real’ antiquarian booksellers– LOTS of smoky books, book club editions, tattered and tanned copies. One can’t quibble with the prices, anywhere from $ 1.50 to maybe $ 6 a box or even a set of boxes and every now and then there is a find. Plus some weeks they have too many of an item– such as eight weed whackers or three washer dryers — so you can win one at a good price. Following the auction(830-ish) large scale freebies to be found in parking lot dumpsters as ‘winners’ rid themselves of items in their lots. Depends on how low you will go for stuff– my near-mentorTightwad Gazetteer Amy Dacyczyn was not above dumpster diving.
