My daughters love this spot for special treats like almond macaroons, cupcakes, sugar cookies and whoopee pies. Decent coffee and tea. I head to CTC when I need something to take to a gathering or serve guests after lunch.

Friendly counter service, good iced coffee and most importantly, great pastries. I had the walnut brownie and raspberry heart. The latter was a shortbread cookie with jelly like raspberry filling. I liked it a lot and will come back to try more of their pastry selections such as muffins and pie crust cookies.

When we moved to West Concord 3 years ago, friend sang the praise of this place. 3 years later and it is time to write our review. It is an okay place — nothing more. Some of the items are very decent, others not. Atmosphere non-existent, as is service. Our most doubtful experience was when we ordered a large and very expensive cake for a special occasion. Cake was ready on time and all was as ordered — the only problem was the taste and quality. Honestly, I ate better cakes bought ready at Costco or Stop & Shop(for one third of the price. We asked friends who joined us and all thought the same. Big name and pretense with pries to match, but don’t expect the ordered cake to be more than average in quality. As the Unilocal two stars stands for: «Meh. I’ve experienced better», and I will add: «…and cheaper»…

Very disappointed. I’ve observed that service is great if you are a regular customer. For those of us who come in once or twice a month, they are indifferent, bordering on rude. We usually buy a mixed box of pastries and cookies. And quite often, half are okay and the others taste dry and old. But the last time we were there, nothing we bought was edible. We do not recommend this place.

Concord Tea cakes made the gender reveal of our baby for my family a dream come true. My parents recently moved to Acton, but my husband and I live in Nashville Tennessee. When we found out that we were pregnant, we wanted to do a gender reveal for our parents, but we also wanted to find out the same time. My ultrasound was not going to be until later in the afternoon and we are on central time(an hour before Massachusetts) so I was concerned that Concord Teacakes would close before they could be notified the gender and color icing to fill inside of the cake. Concord Teacakes was kind enough to work with me and remained open slightly longer to receive the phone call for the gender and had the decorators fill and decorate the cake on the fly. They had even offered to make 2 versions of the cake-one with blue icing inside and one with pink– that way my parents could have the cake and find out with us. (We had a friend notify Concord Teacakes and a local Nashville bakery the gender of the baby so we could both find out at the very same time.) Because of their exceptional customer service, we were both able to cut into cakes as the very same time and find out over Facetime together. It helped ease the pain of long distance and my family and I were able to share this wonderful moment together. I can’t express how thankful I am that I now have this beautiful memory. This was customer service at its finest!

Ordered a cake and payed last Saturday. Paid almost $ 50 for a cake. Told to come Thursday at 2 pm to pick up. Arrived at 3. Apparently the cake was lost, they«sold» me a story that the driver slipped on the ice with the cake and they are making a new one. I asked, when did that happen, they answered just now. Hummm, so if that cake was supposed to be here at 2 and I came at three, something does not add up. Waited 30 minutes, was not even offered a coffee while I am waiting. Did not try to compensate for my time. The thing that upset me the most was being lied to. Never again !

Concord Teacakes, Thank you for making our daughter’s first birthday party even more special. You clearly have an amazing team — artistic decorators and bakers. We opened the box and it was like Christmas. The decorator/artist created a beautiful, adorable, whimsical design beyond what we had imagined. I had handed off a napkin that was mainly pink but directed designer to use lavender as main color and all the other, many colors in napkin as background. They executed the colors and design(big one in the center made up of flowers, bugs, etc) exactly as I had instructed and more artistically than I could have imagined. It pained me to cut the cake! The gold cake with raspberry filling was moist and flavorful — every person commented how delicious it was and wanted to know where we got it. I will definitely get future cakes from Concord Teacakes.

Such a wonderful little bakery! Delicious treats, unique, beautiful custom cakes and excellent service! We’ve trusted them with birthday and celebration cakes for years, so when we needed a wedding cake we knew just where to turn. They did an amazing job. The cake was delicious and lovely and surprisingly affordable.

Teacakes gets touted as the best café/bakery in Concord, I think because it’s «cutesy.» But there are definitely at least two much higher quality bakeries in Concord. I love their cupcakes though, and some of the cookies you can’t really get anywhere else. Coffee isn’t great. Some of the staff are excellent, and a couple are rude beyond comprehension — on a consistent basis. Going to teacakes can either be a really pleasant experience, or really excruciating if certain staff are working. They can be very impatient, even when there is no line(and I am a speedy order-er!). If they have to ask you questions about your order, i.e. What type of milk, they ask it in a very loud, frustrated way. I overheard one staff member tell a woman they didn’t make the birthday cake she ordered, because she didn’t tell her name when placing the order over the phone. The woman was very polite, but confused, because this particular staff member never asked for her name during the call. Instead of apologizing, the staff member belligerently insisted it was the woman’s fault. I went in earlier this week, and was made to feel like I was imposing on them for ordering coffee and a croissant. It’s almost like being at one of those restaurants where the servers are intentionally rude to you for entertainment purposes. But I’m pretty sure that’s not what teacakes is going for.

Horrible Customer Service! I drove by the place on Sunday(Father’s Day) needing to pick up a small cake. I noticed some patrons in the bakery so I assumed it was open. Needless to say I walked in asked if I could pick up a small cake, the person working there told me that they closed at 1pm. Really? It was only 5 minutes after 1pm. She refused to help me and demanded that they were closed. Not only will I never go back there but my daughter lives in town and she will never go there either. Not only did you lose a sale but future customers.

Concord Teacakes made a wonderful three layer cake for my dad’s 90th birthday. Especially yummy was the carrot cake portion(highly recommend paying the premium for this layer). The party was on Sunday and of particular note is that the cake was made late Saturday or very early Sunday and was very fresh and moist. They will accommodate your timing. I worked with Kellie D and she made everything very simple and easy. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is cost, but hey you get what you pay for and it was wonderful ! PS: ice coffee with espresso is a nice large serving and a great way to get the java jolt we need.

So, I wrote a terrible review for Concord Tea Cakes in January and they immediately reached out to me and they were amazing. It turns out that they were changing management and things were a little kooky. I really appreciated their reaching out and then I felt like a doofus for being so harsh. We scheduled a cake tasting and were so excited! Sadly, about three snowstorms got in the way of our cake tasting, but we got there eventually! Amazing array of samples on a gorgeous Saturday morning(a real treat in itself) and free coffee to go with it! The manager was very helpful and we ended-up ordering our wedding cake that morning for our September wedding. The cakes are gorgeous and I’m sure that ours will be beautiful, too. Absolutely recommend Concord Teacakes!

Not a good day! Purchased an apple pie for Christmas dinner dessert. Ate a small piece of it and realized after that the pie had Mold under the crust. Boo! Bad show. Don’t think I will be shopping there again.

Their Coffee: Not bad. Their Cakes: Really good! Their other baked goods: Like the lemon sandwich biscuit, or the pistachio shortbread, the coconut chocolate macaroons! Absolutely Addictive and utterly dangerous!!! There should be a health warning attached to these items because once you have them you will be back for them again and again. I haven’t tried their breakfast sandwiches yet, but their regular sandwiches such as the egg salad are just so delicious and fresh. Even though they are a big pricey I just can’t stop buying them, they are totally worth it to me. So, why 4 stars? Well, they have a lot of younger people working the cash register here and while they are all very nice and pleasant they have made a mistake with my order on 3 occasions now. Not a huge deal because what they ended up giving me was pretty tasty but the shop isn’t that busy and the prices are high enough that I would like to receive what i pay for. I should have checked but all those goodies in the display case are just too darned distracting! Will be back, today as a matter of fact, for my fix.

I have often stopped in here for a morning coffee and snack on my way to work, but without much enthusiasm. They are not just a maker of custom-decorated cakes for special occasions; they are also a coffee shop — which my review is mostly for. First, their coffee is pretty mediocre. Admittedly better than the undrinkable swill from DD, McD’s, etc. but far below S’Bucks or the other coffee shop/bakery across the street. I’ve only tried a few food items; mostly bakery sweets. Their muffins: very good. Croissants: edible enough but not even close to a true croissant in texture, consistency, etc. Brownies: too soft, overly sweet, boring. More about the brownies: They have frosted ones: mint, coffee, etc. I got the mint once(a pretty green color on top) and that’s what it tasted like: a green-frosted brownie! Where’s the mint? Next time, I told the server — who was not the owner or manager — my opinion, and got no discernible reaction. But I persisted; would you please pass my comment on to the manager or owner? She said she would. I did try another mint brownie on that occasion, thinking it might have been a bad batch last time. It was the same tasteless frosting.(This was not«on the house»; I was disappointed that no apology or refund was offered for my dissatisfaction.) On another visit I was back and the same server was there. I asked if the owner/manager was given my feedback. She said yes, but he/she felt that the flavor level was appropriate and that the customers«like it that way.» Oh well; at least I tried. We left it at that — after I suggested that if they changed the name from«mint brownie» to «green brownie» I’d be ok with that. Not surprisingly she didn’t seem to think that very funny. Yesterday I tried a special: cider donut. Bland(no cider flavor) and not donut-shaped(hole was too small). Pretty disappointing for the insane price of $ 2.50! They have breakfast bagel sandwiches. I don’t really like eggs or cheese, so sometimes I like to get a toasted bagel with meat only. I tried it twice, but never again. It confuses them so completely that it basically shuts down the line while they figure out how to price it. Once it came up ridiculously cheap(like bagel plus 10 cents) and the other time ridiculously expensive(like almost the full standard price; I said no thanks that time). About the cakes: they sure do look pretty and I’m sure their custom cake decorators are quite talented. But they sure are expensive! If you just need a cake for a festive occasion, from a local small business, and don’t need the custom decoration, try some of the many ethnic bakeries in the area(e.g. Italian in Lexington and Medford, Brazilian in Lowell, etc.) and you will find excellent cakes for a small fraction of these prices. Their web site has no email contact address! What’s up with that? Inexcusable.

We ordered a cake for our 25th anniversary. It was perfect! Not only was it truly beautiful, it was so delicious! I loved the buttercream frosting!
